@donanarcisa When you'll learn more about the arabic world,real arabic culture, and understand the MEANING of this arabic music/song of the famous Egyptian singer Oum Koulthoum you'll understand better. Didem knows how to dance, she can move perfectly but her dance isn't really corresponding to this classical music. I do find her gorgoeus and very talented but in the arabic style,she is not the best..there are great bellydancers in this style much better as Cherine -egyptian-,fadwa -moroccan

I like another one of hers posted by you on July 8 2008 "Didem Kinali" very much.
She s good on everything which has a drum rhythm, but believe me there is a reason most of the Arabs visiting Didem videos say she s really bad on classical Arabic music, while non-Arabs think she s doing good on them. It is hard to describe what she is doing wrong, it s just the movements do not fit the music.
I did understand what you meant in your early comment,but at least she tried to do something in her style.Besides she ain't turkish at 100% only by territory.She is half grec and yougoslavian..and for information,I do have a lebanese family from my sister's side.Didem dances the turkish style as so many other turkish bellydancers but her moves are way more pure..Besides she is always doing the samething quite.Anyway..where are you from ? my sister's name dina..randomly.!!

my family s partly from Jordan, partly Sicily, and I am married to a man from Turkey and have grown up in Austria and France, so a wild mix :)
I do like she does her style, I just think it does not fit the classic Arabic music.. I do like her though!

@donanarcisa Salâm ! Please do not put bad comments in there. Actually,Dinavienna is right.More I learn of bellydance more I realize the taste of the arabic bellydance style. Didem has a truly talent and her performances are beautiful,she is amazing mash'allah.But on this kind of arabic music, the arabic style would have been much better. But I agree with you, she is an excellent bellydancer, and she improved those last months, her dances are more sensual as the arabic bellydance style.
@Didem92 Hello I did not want to reply bad comments, I wanted to say that I do not consider her perfect on Arabic music AT ALL, but that she unfortunatly butchers the songs, the feeling they express. It's not her fault she's not grown Arab, but many non Arabs learn a lot about the song, and have the respect to learn and become very very good :)
I do see why many non Arabs like Didem - she is interesting and varied. On some non Arab styles I do like her like on fusion, drum, Romany.. :)

I tell myself "Educating yourself is the true way to Islam",to this life. I'm craving attention and searching my inner peace. Islam really helps me. I've learnt alot, and have found my way,alhamdulilah. I need to be in peace with Allah,with the others and with myself..Inch'allah.

@donanarcisa Besides flameno dancers and Indians complain about her treatment of their song and music, too. Oftentimes when someone takes bits and pieces from every musical culture there is it is to disguise they are not excellent in any single one of them. As much as I think Didem is entertaining and beautiful and often quite interesting to watch (although not too long in a row -w hich every EXCELLENT or great dancer is,you can watch them all day) I believe she is not great in any single dance
@donanarcisa excepfor maybe Romany dance, which is her own. I would have to hear a knowledgeable Roma confirm she is "great " on that dance though since it is not my own and I cannot judge it.
She is elegant yet sensual... I think she does justice to the art of belly dance :) I'm so jealous!

Oftentimes when someone takes bits and pieces from every musical culture there is it is to disguise they are not excellent in any single one of them. As much as I think Didem is entertaining and beautiful and often quite interesting to watch (although not too long in a row -w hich every EXCELLENT or great dancer is,you can watch them all day) I believe she is not great in any single dance
