  • best wheelie vid ever, thanks for motivation

  • @mythbuster204 Thanks man, be careful out there...

  • I watch this vid all the time, really helped me practice my lot stuff and gauge what comes next. Still the most controlled, vertical highway wheelies on youtube! Keep it up bro!

  • @jjjgg1637 Thaks a bunch man. Be safe out there and remember to be patient.

  • Good work bruh! I was checkin out the vid when it hit me, damn he in the A! I am a member of the #1 Stunnas and know some of the guys you mentioned like Rossi, Goodi, Startime just to name a few. Anyway i can clutch up 1st/2nd gear but still chasing them. I recently moved to staggered and prefer them much more. Cant wait to get to where i can slow them down. Hopefully i can ride with you one day. Be safe and keep it on #1.

  • @Slickmook Thx man. Yea i used 2 ride with them folks a lot but times have changed and we all have different priorities now. They r still my dudes tho, learnt a lot from them and their support helped me boost my confidence. I'm sure we will ride together one day now that it's warm, i mean hot, lol.

For your wheelies that's how we all started. The more you do them the better you get but b careful and stay patient. Clutching is the way to go. The key is bring it up fast to a hi pt then ride out.

  • how many hours did you dedicate to practicing? How did you get over your fear of the balance point to stay in it?

  • @WarFaceUp Took me about 3 full months practicing every other day after school or work. The hours just depended on how i felt and the weather. Even 30 mns is enough. Getting over the fear came on its own while keep on practicing. On thing that helped really was sitting a bike on the 12 bar and gettin on it (sittin and standing) to have a feel of the unfamiliar position.

  • how tall are you im 6'3 feels hella hard to straighten my back leg up but i see u were doin the same thing leaving ur left leg bent at first now ur leg is str8 any tips

  • @sammyg224 I'm 6'3 just like you, lol. As u already know it's harder for us tall guys to control wheelies. Like i was tellin jr69, lower ur body a little sometimes or bend your knee. Steering to the right is very easy as oppsed to the left. Have your leg close to the tank, bend your left knee, also make sure your tire pressure is not too low and check to make sure your rear wheel is str8. Meaning the distance of the axle end is the same on both sides. The chain adj. lines aint precise.

  • @Slimfro OK THANX MAN...JUS SEEMS HARD TO STAND SO TALL OVER THE BIKE BUT ILL PRACTICE SOMEMORE.. ON UR BLACK AND ORANGE STREETFIGHTER I SEEN U WERENT STANDN UP STR8 UNTIL THE 750 THEN U HAD THEM LEGS STR8...

  • @sammyg224 Cuz it was scary being up ther at first then i got used to it and comfortable.

  • @Slimfro thanx bruh

  • @sammyg224 Oh and another very important thing: when putting your left foot on the pass peg make sure the peg is as close to your heel as possible. Having it closer to your toes will make the steering much harder....

  • @Slimfro 1 MORE THING DO U HAVE ANY OTHER VIDS SHOWING HOW YOU START YOUR WHEELIES? 2ND GEAR STAND UPS?KINDA WANNA SEE HOW U GET UP THERE

  • @sammyg224 Nah, these are the only videos i have.

  • oh and noticed on the eway you dont use much brake and youre pretty good at steering them too, but as opposed to alot of vid I see, it doesnt seem like you are overexagerating the leaning of your body..any tips?? thanks partna..

  • @MrJnsjr69 Oh i do use the break all the time but since u dealing wit more speed on the eway, the bike is less sensitive to tapping the break. To steer them bend one of your knees and lower your body a little.

  • aight slim Ima keep this as short as possible..first of all good work, and even better you got most of your progress on video which is a blessing..youll be able to look back and be like damn..thats where I came from..next, looking at your vids is like looking at my own vids, but Im only at the point where Im still chasing them. anyway good work and its good to see a "brother " slowin them down..thats when you are in full control of yo bike..next for u obviously has to be tank wheelies..

  • @MrJnsjr69 Thanks. Lol, yea it took me a while tho to realize i had all the footage of my progress on different computers then one day i put em all in one piece. Not sure if i want go through another learning process with all the risks and money to spend. I have other priorities now in life than spending hours stunting on top of staying outta trouble, lol.

  • Woow i disagree with u bro. I can not go for somthing and i knew that will cost me allot. I learend doing wheelies by my self , i took it step by step and watched enough vds and wrecked vds for ppl doing wheelies so i knew it is ris-key and it took me 18 days + brokn fork seal thats it. I am postive that F u study the risk u can avoid such things like dropping the bike. I will think twice b4 do the stand up again i might start from 2nd gear much easier 4. Me but thanks 4 the info & support. B s

  • @ALMO7TRF600 U r welcome. I wont sit and argue wit u 4 the simple fact that my experience compared 2 yours says it all. U r entitled 2 ur opinion however. Just remember this: i been around professional stunters and never til 2day met som1 who learnt SLOW WHEELIES w\o ever dropping their bikes especially @ slo speed. I watched videos and did my homework just like u; that's not enough to make ur body used to unfamiliar positions and control your survival reaction... Stunters hav cages 4 a reason.

  • @ALMO7TRF600 Listen to this man, I thought the same thing...........but it will happen sooner or later because all the research in the world isn't enough to prevent trial and error.

  • The problem is the 1st gear is so sensitive on my bike i almost recked when i tried but on 2nd gear it was smooth but i was going fast which scared me. So the only problem i am facing is that i dont kno when i reach the balance p on stand up . Do u feel it or you have to push the bike all the way and use the rear brake all the time. Thx

  • @ALMO7TRF600 You need 2 xpand your skills and b able 2 pop wheelies on streets and hiways so it's a must 2 master 1st gear ones. Yes it's hard and that's y not every biker can do slow wheelies. Gotta practice man and keep in mind wreckin or droppin ur bike is part of it. I was lucky enough to not get hurt while learning but dropped my bike many times. Now for the BP, u will know as the bike becomes xtremely lite on 1 wheel and u can ride it out for miles at constant speed b4 usin the back brake.

  • Wooooooow dude i am not english but ur wheelies r the best in ytube i have been watching wheelies since 3 years and never seen a good wheelies like urs . I need ur advice i can do wheelies on 1st gear i changed the front sprocket only to smaller i think 45 i am not sure but the bike is quicker than b4 i cannot do stand up wheelies i tried but scared. I feel that 2gear is much better for wheelies but still workn on it watch out my video crazy hahaha and give me advice on stand up and slow wheeli

  • @ALMO7TRF600 Thx a lot my dude. So havin a quicker bike is good when clutchin it up which i assume is what u are doin whether in 1st or 2nd gr. Now the thing about standup wheelies is that they r much easier once u pass that fear point of being all the way up there. You need to keep practicing by 1st getting of the seat a little and as you go straighten your legs slowly. Oh and don't forget to have your left leg on the pas' peg. The harder the practice the better u get so 1st gear only. B safe!

  • you got skill so go buy a trials bike like a gas gas and this is like dancing with the bike flow finesse grace then transfer that to the big bike and you mentioned bmx so you would like it KEEP IT UP DOG

  • @STEFAN23744 That's a great idea i been thinking about. Thanks for the props.

  • yo man, good work man. do you have a history of riding dirt bikes? or bmx bikes? or are these street bikes your only experience with wheelies. also why did you go through so many bikes? i figured you be fine with your first bike lol

  • @StreetSurfinn Thanks. No dirt bike history but yes with bmx' when i was young. I went through many bikes cause i had auction connections and would buy and resell to make extra $. Now the ones that i like, i would keep for myself for a lil while b4 selling. Plus u kno bikes get old quick so u always want to upgrade.

  • Golly Jeepers man! I am impressed and jealous... Good work and skill, proud for you.

  • @Araius901 Well thanks. No need to be jealous, you can be there if you really want it...

  • One of the best wheelie vids on youtube, keep it on 1!

  • @BiteFirstBarkLater Thks man!

  • Damn biker hooligan!

  • keep up the work bro this homeboy from ct that met u in that parking lot n ATL...im comin after u and tell teflon im comin 2 streetrace so watchout..lol.j/k...but b safe hit ya up when i trailer my bike up there next time.......CT BOYZ

  • @jyron22 Thks. Yea do that b4 it gets cold down here... i eman for us, lol.

    Peace.

  • any tips on how to slow it down?

  • @gizzle7445 Assuming you already know how to pop wheelies, here are my own tips:

1 - Clutch them up: the faster to get to the balance point the less time and struggle you need to slow them down.

2 - You need to learn how to use the back brake to be able to slow them down to whatever speed you like.

3 - The sweet spot is right past BP. Which usually results in wrecks if you can't use to back brake to bring the bike back down.

4 - Be extremely gentle on the throttle, you have to feather it.

  • good shit man!!

  • @chrislsarac Thanks man!

  • Nice progress, I just started this year with my wheelies, I can do fast stand up fine but just started slow 2 weeks ago , 12'd it the first day, lol, but I got alot better this week, hopefully I will have some video up soon....

  • @Mdrcrue Thanks. Yea lemme know when you get vids. I always like seeing people doing good. Just take your time....

  • Good job dude i crash my gsxr 750 first day i put on my 60 tooth sprocket.could you give me some tips.ppl told me to learn at higher speed is that true.check out my sport bike club i just started it dont got much members yet but you and your friends are welcome to join its (sportbikemadness.ning.com) look it up in your regular browser.

  • @assmanforever2009 Sup man, thanks for the props. Yea many folks used to tell me that too but i was stubborn and kept learning at super slow speed. So it took more time t oget the wheelies. Just go with whatever yo uare comfortable with but to be honest it makes more sense starting fast then going slow once you are comfortable doing wheelies.

    I will check your website.

  • ha ha ha the world is a small place...i saw you at turner field... you are the shit...keep it up bro...hope to get some vid of you soon

  • @mr1night Thanks bro, just trying to hav fun out there and that's it. Yea, amma try to get more vids when i have time, lol.

  • hell ya slim my man got them wheelies on loc good shit bro keep it up ive only been doin them bout 2 months aint nowhere near that PROPS from down here in AZ

  • @155Yamaha Thanks man, just take your time n be xtremely careful.

  • Awesome bro!! Respect and thank you from Australia!!

  • @jaisez Thanks mate.

  • was that gixxer 1000 stock?

  • @vokaldm Yup!

  • clutch all wheelies and learn that back brake much respect 2 u my dude

  • thanks!

  • Hey man i have a 1000 and i only know how to do power wheelies and since im learning i dont want to go that fast, so can you tell me how to wheelie at maybe 10mph? i know thats with the clutch but can you tell me in detail how to?

  • Godly amounts of practice with the possibility of crashing......that's how i learned. I asked plenty of questions but when i got on the bike to actually do work, it was a different story. If you keep at it, with alot of repetition, it will basically come around and you will notice the improvement in due time.

  • U need 2 learn how to clutch it up first before even trying to go slow which will take a long time and dropping your bike eventually. I would recommend learning on a stunt bike or a 50. To clutch it up you need to go a good speed (35-45mph) and quickly pull the clutch in with 2 fingers while in 1st gear, open the throttle to enough* rpm to launch the bike up, then while holdin the throttle suddenly let go off the clutch lever.

  • Hey I heard that if you were to hold the clutch in while your in first gear and give it gas, you'd loop your bike. Your only supposed to clutch and give it gas in 2nd gear. In first your supposed to go at a steady speed and then pull in the clutch is this correct? which way is the correct way?

  • You can loop your bike in 2nd gear too, trust me! People tell you not to in 1st gear cause you dealing with a lot more power, thats y i said start with low rpm. In 2nd gear u hav to go faster, give the bike more gas and the throttle will be less choppy while ridin a wheelie. It's up to u however u will hav to go back down to 1st if you wanan go slow.

  • Thanks man, i appreciate it.

  • Once you master bringin it up and hittin balance point, you can start tappin the back brake to get used to it. Finally once comfortable bring the bike back past balance point while pushing the back brake. It will take patience buddy.

    * enough rpm: start at a low count and work your way up to get the bike off the ground. Never over do it or chop the throttle to keep the bike up.

  • Good damn work.. props.. That 1k looks nasty, i just had my 05 636 stolen about 3 weeks ago and i was planing to stunt it out and get a gsxr k5 1k for the streets.. are you using your brake pedal or hand brake?

  • Thanks man. Sorry to hear about your loss. I went thru the same ordeal exactly 2 yrs ago, the blue and white 1k.

I learnt and am still using the brake pedal.

  • God Damn that took you a long ass time. You got it though. Good on ya. Wear your leathers bro. I've had plenty of friends with plenty of years experience lose it at some point. That asphalt will eat you down to the bone.

  • Yea i know, you are right about that. And you can't tell exactly how long it took me from the video if you pay attention....it was exactly 3 months sincei started LEARNING how to use the back brake plus why rush: i can take all the time i want to stay safe.

  • I was watching your video today and I read your comments and you were telling someone that you need to learn to use your back break to slow your wheelie's down. So my question to you is: Are you taping the back break or are you gradually back breaking?

  • You start of gradually then as you go while you are stil lon it you tap it when needed. You neverget off of it, NEVER!

  • blast squad allday Big Wil crazy.

  • great video one of the best on youtube

  • Thanks man...

  • i'm amazed how slow you can get it and you havent even got a massive rear sprocket, i got a 60 tooth rear and it's still hard for me to slow it down lol

  • IMO, the concept is still the same which is being able to not panic and use the back brake. Some people told me i coulda learnt it faster with a bigger sprocket but i will never be able to tell. I learnt on stock and it took me a long time. Just keep practicing man and be patient, you will get it: it's an amazing feeling being able to control your wheelies.

  • Thanks man, yes it made up for the loss. regarding the top end, i really cant feel a difference but according to a gearing table i lost bout 7mph of my top speed.

  • by the way, what's the first song?

  • The instrumental of Trap Star by Young Jeezy.

  • mad respect for your dedication man. you got a bad ass riding group. i can't find any in houston, my riding group is down to 4

  • Thanks man. It's the same everywhere tho, it's hard to keep the same big riding group. I been solo riding lately if it's not during the weekend of bike nite.

  • great dedication Dude.... Really Great..

  • thanks man, i really appreciate your comment.

  • I learned on stock gearings so i'm sticking to it. However i went up 2 in the rear cause the m4 pipe i put on made me lose some low-end torque. I didnt need the mod with the factory pipe since the valve actuator was still on it.

  • yeah this is good story, I hope you didn't crash your any bike during learning your wheelies? five stars dude!

  • i crashed my first bike but then that was it....

  • cuz now i'm learning some stunts and i hope i'll never crash my bike

  • Yooo...I watch this vid a countless number of times so I'm going to comment on it again lol. Watching this inspires me to slow it down, in which I'm in the process of doing it now. With that said comes the trial and error....in which i've already experienced the error lol.

Learning to wheelie was like going down a Moutain (learned backwards) lol.....first was the power-ups, then the 2ng gear Stand-ups, and now the almighty 1st gear. Looking good man...thats motivation right there. Murph

  • wow!!!! major progress man!!!! looking dam good!

  • thanks guys....

  • Thierno, man that really does capture your progression and it did bring back some memories of us out practicing. If i could only committ like you did and stay off the track. LOL
