I grew up with the Dragon Ball GT show but in Japanese with subs. Its more of a kids show from back then. I didn't mind it at all. People take this show too seriously. Its not really supposed to be better than Dragon Ball Z or Dragon Ball. Its just another addition to the series. Its more like Dragon Ball since its has more adventure than Dragon Ball Z. Is it better than Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball Z? No but its still not bad.

@Beatstylz Honestly, its better to just view GT as an alternate universe to Z and Dragonball, sort of the way Toriyama does (calling it a "grand side story"). That's the best way to resolve the debate, in my opinion. And yeah, GT could be ok on its own, but next to Z and dragonball it is truly horrendous. That's its problem: it is part of the dragonball franchise, which means it has to live up to certain expectations, and it failed miserably in doing so.

There were almost no beams. Mostly energy-balls, even for beam-like-attacks.

Rapid attacks involved opening the hand and remaining still versus having rapid movements animated in DBZ.

There was no training, build-up, or any real achievements or personal goals for any of the characters. Everyone remained the same person. After the outer-space "Baby Saga?" Goku basically turns SSJ4 and X20 Kamehameha's everyone to death who all appear out of seemingly nowhere.
