The presence of second-degree AV block is diagnosed when one or more (but not all) of the atrial impulses fail to conduct to the ventricles due to impaired conduction.It is usually associated with an organic lesion in the conduction pathway. Anybody with a serious heart problem can get it.The definitive treatment for this form of AV Block is an implanted pacemaker.

2nd degree type 1 (winkebach (spelling?). The PR interval gets longer and longer until the QRS is dropped. 2nd degree type 2 the QRS just drops.
