NO NO NO. This is a mistake that is often made. The 3rd to 1st move is SUPPOSED to make the runner at FIRST believe you are pitching HOME, not picking off to 3rd base. You want to get that runner at FIRST BASE to steal right? as he said, you use it in a "hit and RUN" situation. So why would you want the runner at 1st to think you a trying to pick off to 3rd if he is stealing? YOU DONT. You want the runner on 1st to believe you are throwing a pitch to HOME, not picking to 3rd
ive taken lessons from Bill Melvin... not only is he a great guy and very friendly, but he's such a good coach and explains things very well. i really really really recommend taking lessons from him if you get the chance.

I'm a coach and should know this cause we are now getting them ready for high school so they will know the real basics. We don't play around when it comes to baseball, it's down to business for us. All the rules start with these ages for Bambino league.

is my division they can. im in the highest level in my division. There is balks, drop third strikes, steals, pick-offs, lead offs, everything. and u can leave any time u want to just not in a time out. so shove that in ur ass!
well u must be in like a babe ruth league or something higher than little league if u can do all that stuff....cuz when i played LL only thing we could do is steal when ball crosses plate...and ever since i know that is all u can do in little league...so ya..must be in a higher league....soooo ha...idk if ur league dude is on crack if he allows that

@derekjeter2fan well in dizzy dean league you can lead off like the pros so idk what type of baseball you play. and i just had a game yesterday night and we've doin that since i was 12. screw little leuge, im in high scool on the way 2 college so..
Might want to teach how to pick off at first base without stepping off since you only showed with the step off. You can label it as the "advanced" method since if you do it wrong, it's a balk. Good stuff though!
