Out of all these shows (Super Slim Me, Super Skinny Me etc..) this is my favorite because it is the only one where she actually DOES get down to a size 0. She is thin to begin with so that's probably why but I just don't like it when they don't even get to a size 0.
how can you say "i'm going to end up with an eating disorder, I know it"? What a stupid thing to say! You have no idea whether you would have an eating disorder, just dieting doesnt make you sick in the head
@ToshizouHijikata I think that the guidelines for a healthy bmi vary slightly from one country to another. Also it's very important to remember that your bmi dosen't take your bodytype or "build" into account at all.
The funny thing is when I diet and control my food intake and exercise, I feel in control of my life. It seems it's the only thing I can control. I don't want to be a size 0 because it is terrible looking, I'd be happy with a size 3 or 4.
I love how the doctors freak out.... but honestly she is not going to die from 30 days. Ever since the beginning of humans, we have been going through famines! And religious fasts! Even now, people starve every day. 30 days under medical supervision is not going to kill this lady.
@questions117 it's not what she'll do to her body in the 30 days - it's what's going to happen after. as they talk about around 3:00, she could gain back more fat than muscle, and end up with an eating disorder to try and just get back to her normal weight.
When I was 17 and skinny (weighing 7.5 stone) my hip bones stuck out, my stomach curved inward and my ribs showed. But I was a UK size 12. I have a large bone structure. I could never achieve a size zero, not without surgery to remove bone.Seeing the effect it is having on a petite woman makes it even more terrifying that women of medium to large build might be trying this.
@iluvmusic4eva1 she was thin, and she was trying to be skinny. that was the problem she had a normal build for her bodytype, and when someone tryies to go numeral sizes down below their normal standard you have to exercise excessively and lower your nutritional intake considerably.
The craving she had for food is not same as obese peoples. when obese people crave for food it's part psykological and part physiological dependens.
while hers was physiological (her body needed the nutrition)
I know. People don't realize what the extra weight does to a dog. My dad's best friends wife has gone through like 4 dogs, she has fed them all TO DEATH. Literally and they all had really sever joint problems and arthritis to the point where the dog couldn't even get up off of the ground.
I wish people weren't so freaking stupid! If you love your animal, rather than giving it half of your cheese burger, give it good dog food and good exercise.
I was badly anorexic at one point and I got so disoriented that I couldn't properly form sentenses. I'd think something but I'd get maybe half of it out of my mouth
I was actively anorexic off and on for several years, and when I was in the thick of it...bloody hell--Louise is right about the emotional aspect. Lack of food made me feel drunk and disorientated, and anything could make me cry or lose my temper. I've been out of it for a while, fortunately, because it's absolutely miserable for the sufferer and the people around them.
she has so much willpower! i cant believe she can starve herself like that and talk to other people who tell her its REALLY BAD but keep going even tho she has no real mental disorder
That's awful isn't it? After just two weeks she thinks she's "going to end up with an eating disorder!" Eating disorders are such easy traps to fall into!
I don't understand. I'm a UK size 6-8 depending on the brand, but in the USA I'm always a size 0 or 2. Maybe it's the vanity sizing? No wonder they need a size 00 these days.
@diegelassenheit There is no standard sizing. In the same day, I've been to three different stores and have been a size 2, a size 7, and a size 11. Depends where you shop. Also, sometimes designers put on weight - but like to stay the same size. ; )
@xVeganBitchx yeah exactly, so if a guy says he likes curvy "natural" make-up free women, then why do most of their crushes turn out to be size zero skeletons photoshopped to within an inch of their life only to look like fairies on crack? Attractive famous curvy people? Marilyn Monroe, Kate Winslet, Anne Nicole Smith, Christina Ricci, Liv Tyler, Salma Hayek, Sara ramirez, Dita Von Teese...to name a few :)
At the beginning she is so pretty and bright then you watch her shrink, her face caves and she is grey, I hope she gets back to where she was at the start, this is screwed up, Terrible that people feel that this is living
i dont agree with size zero at all and i think it really is the media's fault and role models. people who are in the spotlight should relize that young girls look up to them, and when they see there super thin they're goin to want to be like that. I mean fair enough if your naturally thin but there are a lot of celebs out there who WANT to be thin but wont admit it. I personally think healthy is a UK size 8-12 thats just my opinion. i feel really sorry for people with eating disorders :(
You know what I hate? When a guy says 'I like a curvy, make-up free, natural woman.' And then you ask them what their ideal celebrity date would be, and they say 'Miranda Kerr'. Seriously wtf? I mean how can girls realistically compete with that?
For guys, curvy means big boobs and round butts on tall, skinny bodies. What they think is makeup free is actually makeup in natural looking colors. Most guys are so heavily brainwashed that they think that's how a woman should look naturally. It creates so much pressure and insecurity for young girls.
@GrimPrince I couldn't agree more. We as a society have been so brainwashed that we don't even know what "normal" or "natural" is anymore. I remember when I first starting dating my current boyfriend and he saw me on one of the days where I had on more natural looking makeup - and he said something like "see, you look pretty even w/o makeup" and I was thinking - oh goodness, if he thinks this is me without makeup he's going to be totally disgusted when he REALLY sees me w/o makeup. :(
Ok, it really isn't that easy, for women it gives you an extreme fear of food, and when you do eat food you think of all the calories you have just consumed, and its just horrible, it makes you so anxious.
I need to add my input here. Men at my school, very few are not nearly as heavily judged on appearance as women. I was called fat by a few people even though I only weigh around 100 pounds. Many of the other girls have similar problems at my school. I'm not saying that men aren't looked at for appearances, I'm just saying, where I live, a woman's appearance is much more heavily critized
the criticism is not of 'thin women'. the criticism is of the beauty ideal that our society is presented with! Not everyone is 'naturally thin' but for some reason thin is the only body type we are shown as desirable or beautiful!
I wish i could lose a boob size each week!! i hate my boobs they are so huge..and gross..i don't care if guys like them i don't..and i don't like people liking me for my boobs
@breezyweyant I guess I know what you mean, but I´m 18, have a 18BMI (so normal) and even Acups are too big for me. I just never got them... I feel like a little boy and I really wish I could look like a woman for real!
I know! the grass is always greener on the other side I guess. I wish mine were smaller so I could buy the cute little lacey numbers rather than freaking old boring torpedo boob bras!
@breezyweyant I hardly have any to begin with, so I hate when any of the weight I lost comes from them. Just makes my stomach seem to stick out more by comparison. :(
@breezyweyant hallelujah im not alone! i hate my 34 Gs. and its impossible to find cute bras. my boobs are not sexy big, theyre freakishly big. i wanna lose cup sizes like this lady. and half the guys i meet probably dont even know what my face looks like cuz thats not what theyre lookin at. I just want normal boobs!!!
@breezyweyant Oh stop complaining, I have huge boobs and love them, everyone likes them. Only thing is if they cause back pain then you might want to get surgery even. But otherwise, men only care about looks anyway so why complain when you have big boobs? As if men actually wanted an intelligent woman or wanted to listen to how much we know...
@MsAgnosticatheist Boys only care about looks, most real men want women who are independant, strong and interesting. It is a lot less about looks than you'd think. Sure I love my girlfriends voluptuous, curvy figure but it's never the thing that attracted me to her in the first place. She's funny and creative, interesting and cute. If all she was was a pretty face and a nice figure then I wouldn't be with her. It's only women who seem to think it really matters what they look like.
actually according to the World Health organisation the fattest country in the world is the Nauru which is an Island in the south Pacific. 94.5% of adults are overweight there.
Those statistics may be true, but Australia only has a population of 22 million, so roughly 5.5 million are obese, whereas America consists of 305 million, with roughly 77 million obese people.
Just thought it was relevant to mention a contradicting statement to your arguement. :)
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
"Her aim is to demonstrate how unhealthy and emotionally destructive the whole size zero trend is"
And they show her eating healthy foods, jogging, doing pushups.
So eating healthy and exercising is unhealthy? Of course not. It is just that most people have to go through a learning process to live healthy. Maybe Louise only needed to tweak her diet.
The emotionally destructive part for Louise is because she is spoiled and had to do something she didn't want.
I think the issue is that what she's eating is health, but she's not eating enough of it in order to get enough calories and nutrients. Remember, they're taking her down from an 8 to a 4 in just a month.
Her diet, if you remember, is berries, only green veg, fish, and...I think I remember something about oatmeal. That's not a healthy diet; a healthy diet has variety. A vegan diet, for instance, is healthy...but they have a wider variety of food available to them than what she's eating.
What scares me is that she looks of a totally normal weight here even though she says her ribs are kinda poking out. Being honest the camera seems to add at least a dress size and a half to most people so a celebrity who's a size 4 UK (US 0), look to be slim yet healthy when we see them in magaines and on tv. If they were a UK 8, they'd look a UK 12 and we'd think that they were all walking porkers.....
oh lord i know what you mean. People are like wow ur much thinner in person. I'm like YEAH I KNOW! and I'm not particularly skinny I look like a beached whale in photos
There's something completely wrong with this documentary. They're showing the struggles of a really anorexic woman and trying to make us perceive it as a "diet"...totally wrong.
I think loiuse is such a nice person watching this documentary i think she was brave to to this challenge she really struggled but coped plus she came across as a really geniune individual even though she is a footballers wife she is not a showoff and not a publicity seeker. She is pretty and i would like her to make more documentary films in the future keep it up loiuse ur GREAT!!
Well, we're all supposed to believe she just wants to see how the other side lives. And by "other side," I mean the models who actually have to work their asses off (literally) to have a job where they get paid obscene amounts of money just to look pretty. This bitch was just born this way.
exactly! she was thin at the beginning of the documentary! and besides, if you're on any kind of diet you WILL be hungry and you WILL lose weight. i don't understand why she seems so surprised.
I think males have the same sort of pressure, its just not socially acceptable for them to admit to it. They have to look a certain way the same way we do. I just think were more honest about the reality of it ----- i luv the bulldog
Obviously and seriously though, he's a male so the pressure don't even come close to comparing. For him it came through his dedication to his work and for us women the pressure comes from every single angle, every single minute of ever single day.
we have to realize that guys are pressured too. even though it might not be pressure to be uber skinny, it's pressure to be fit. to look like the guys from 300 and to be handsome, tan, basically to look like statues from the classical art era in greece. they have the same amount of pressure as we do.
2 true, but it either doesn't equal 2 the amount of pressure set on women, or not enough ppl r paying attention 2 the boys. It's all about the chicky's... irratating right, they're not the only ones.
I have to disagree with your assessment that men are under equal pressure. They aren't. If you were to say that the pressure for a man to have a certain attitude or posture (be a man!) I would agree with you. Although, the number of male ED has increased and people should be alarmed.
I think you're underestimating the pressure put on men to look a certain way. Pressure from health magazines, sports, the fashion industry, advertising, peers. I have a lot of body issues, and because I'm obsessed with food I do cooking at school. I'd say 75% of the students are male, most of which are highly concerned about weight and image. I see them comparing body parts, weights, heights, builds, diet, everything. More so than the girls in the class, who are more relaxed about it all...
...Also, if you go to school and you're a boy who has an aspect of their physical appearance that contradicts the majority, you'll know about it. Be it hair colour, chin size, literally anything. A guy could hear about it 10 times a day. Casually greeted with, "alright, ginger?" Or "alright, Quagmire?" Whereas girls may hear about it once a week (if that)...
I think you believe that mostly because that's what you're surrounded with. I hope that didn't come off as diminishing your plight. Sorry if it did.
But with men, nearly everything is forgiven if they have money. Whereas with women, generally speaking, we're just judged by how we look. No matter how successful we are, somehow or another someone is talking about our choice of dress, the hair, the eyebrows, etc.
I'm black and grew up in a predominately white environment.
I got teased for features I couldn't change. Or, I can now but wouldn't, because it didn't matter much anyway.
I don't know of any man who's been called fat because he's muscular. Even most women like overweight men because they're "teddy bears" and feel protected with a bigger man.
But it's all relative. We could go back and forth over who suffers more, but as a woman I'm obviously going to say my kind does. :/
...I'd sooner be in a girl's position. Being a guy, if you become thin you're considered "weak", If you become muscular you're considered "fat" when dressed, If you show an interest in how you look you're considered "poncy", If you don't you can pay for it when it comes to you're social//professional life. All I'm saying, lavinder11, is don't misjudge how many guys suffer with body dysmorphia - I know a lot who have a f**ked up idea of how they look and how they should look (including myself)!
@Ayatron34 Ayatron34 is not a guy. This asshole is a BITCH. ! ! This shit loves Michael`s body and penis ! ! This beast is a very ugly homosexsual abnormal BLACK GAY.
yeah, listen to the doctor talking around like 3:30..
you can't go back. it's almost impossible to go back. i've been trying to eat normally for 3 years now, and i can't, i just can't, i've forgotten what it's like to eat normally. it's really difficult to break free from this starvebingestarve cycle.
I recently recovered from anorexia/bulimia and yes i do sometimes wake up and want to binge and sometimes i do binge, and i weigh myself everyday but i can pretty much eat normally now, i try to eat healthily and not get stressed but youre right, its impossible to never think about weight or what ur eating again.
My bf doesn't like too thin, he wants me healthy but he also want meat to grab on and im totally ok w that :D

@MsAgnosticatheist You really think men only care about looks? That's very sad.

If you didn't have boobs you'd be thinking the exact opposite. It's amazing how no one is ever happy with their bodies. lol

"I want my daughter to grow up in a society where she can be whatever size she wants and be happy."
Um, the UK leads the world in obesity...so obese people will fit right in there.
BTW: I seriously doubt she wants her daughter to be unhealthily obese. But she never talks about obesity...skinny-hating slander videos never do.
BoruJudasDedrich 2 years ago
actually according to the World Health organisation the fattest country in the world is the Nauru which is an Island in the south Pacific. 94.5% of adults are overweight there.
anaangel92 2 years ago 2
and the most OBESE nation is Australia with 26% of adults being obese followed by America with 25%
anaangel92 2 years ago 4
Those statistics may be true, but Australia only has a population of 22 million, so roughly 5.5 million are obese, whereas America consists of 305 million, with roughly 77 million obese people.
Just thought it was relevant to mention a contradicting statement to your arguement. :)

Yeah, but obesity-hating slander viedeos do. And there are alot of these, too.

The size zero weight loss diet looks quite healthy to me.
I'd like to know what diet Louis things she considers normal.
BoruJudasDedrich 2 years ago
I think the issue is that what she's eating is health, but she's not eating enough of it in order to get enough calories and nutrients. Remember, they're taking her down from an 8 to a 4 in just a month.
Her diet, if you remember, is berries, only green veg, fish, and...I think I remember something about oatmeal. That's not a healthy diet; a healthy diet has variety. A vegan diet, for instance, is healthy...but they have a wider variety of food available to them than what she's eating.

omg!! that pasta looked incredible!!
ShrinkMeInvisable 2 years ago
What scares me is that she looks of a totally normal weight here even though she says her ribs are kinda poking out. Being honest the camera seems to add at least a dress size and a half to most people so a celebrity who's a size 4 UK (US 0), look to be slim yet healthy when we see them in magaines and on tv. If they were a UK 8, they'd look a UK 12 and we'd think that they were all walking porkers.....

She is pretty and i would like her to make more documentary films in the future keep it up loiuse ur GREAT!!

I;m starting to think the same. why would she torture herself like that
thinkthin247365 3 years ago 7
Well, we're all supposed to believe she just wants to see how the other side lives. And by "other side," I mean the models who actually have to work their asses off (literally) to have a job where they get paid obscene amounts of money just to look pretty. This bitch was just born this way.
SugarMagnolia20 3 years ago 3
exactly! she was thin at the beginning of the documentary! and besides, if you're on any kind of diet you WILL be hungry and you WILL lose weight. i don't understand why she seems so surprised.

I think males have the same sort of pressure, its just not socially acceptable for them to admit to it. They have to look a certain way the same way we do. I just think were more honest about the reality of it ----- i luv the bulldog

mmm christian bale did it
iamajimmy 3 years ago
Christian Bale is fucking hot...
Obviously and seriously though, he's a male so the pressure don't even come close to comparing. For him it came through his dedication to his work and for us women the pressure comes from every single angle, every single minute of ever single day.
belathequeen 3 years ago 3
we have to realize that guys are pressured too. even though it might not be pressure to be uber skinny, it's pressure to be fit. to look like the guys from 300 and to be handsome, tan, basically to look like statues from the classical art era in greece. they have the same amount of pressure as we do.

"Manorexia" is a big problem. Look at Russell Brand and the lead singers of Indie Bands!!!!

I have to disagree with your assessment that men are under equal pressure. They aren't. If you were to say that the pressure for a man to have a certain attitude or posture (be a man!) I would agree with you. Although, the number of male ED has increased and people should be alarmed.
lavinder11 2 years ago 4
I think you're underestimating the pressure put on men to look a certain way. Pressure from health magazines, sports, the fashion industry, advertising, peers. I have a lot of body issues, and because I'm obsessed with food I do cooking at school. I'd say 75% of the students are male, most of which are highly concerned about weight and image. I see them comparing body parts, weights, heights, builds, diet, everything. More so than the girls in the class, who are more relaxed about it all...
Supersonic1122 2 years ago
...Also, if you go to school and you're a boy who has an aspect of their physical appearance that contradicts the majority, you'll know about it. Be it hair colour, chin size, literally anything. A guy could hear about it 10 times a day. Casually greeted with, "alright, ginger?" Or "alright, Quagmire?" Whereas girls may hear about it once a week (if that)...
Supersonic1122 2 years ago
I think you believe that mostly because that's what you're surrounded with. I hope that didn't come off as diminishing your plight. Sorry if it did.
But with men, nearly everything is forgiven if they have money. Whereas with women, generally speaking, we're just judged by how we look. No matter how successful we are, somehow or another someone is talking about our choice of dress, the hair, the eyebrows, etc.
I'm black and grew up in a predominately white environment.
lavinder11 2 years ago 7
I got teased for features I couldn't change. Or, I can now but wouldn't, because it didn't matter much anyway.
I don't know of any man who's been called fat because he's muscular. Even most women like overweight men because they're "teddy bears" and feel protected with a bigger man.
But it's all relative. We could go back and forth over who suffers more, but as a woman I'm obviously going to say my kind does. :/
lavinder11 2 years ago 4
...I'd sooner be in a girl's position.
Supersonic1122 2 years ago 2
Well I'm a guy and I don't mind being thin because I want to be like my hero Michael Jackson.
