so far i know russian very well (not fluent) serbian pretty good too so obviously then that makes my croatian bosnian and slovenian good :) i know some basic spanish, bulgarian and ukrainian. as it can be seen, i love slavic languages. i can't decide what language along with russian to be practicing. i've been stuck on it for almost a week. HELLLLLLP
Hey, I saw in some comments that you think people don't know about Belgium, but maybe Americans don't, but I'm canadian, and we definitely do! I've actually been to Brussels! it was a very beautiful city, nice architecture and everything! Currently I am learning 4 languages: French, Spanish, Japanese, and German. I am best at french, but english is my first language and I grew up in a monolingual household. Next year i wanna do an exchange with my university to go to Europe and study!
@loki2504 My japanese studies are going alright, but I have a long way to go, first i will focus to perfect my french and german! Canadian educational levels are not really higher, but the standard is more equal, like the states has some really really great schools (particularily post-secondary i.e Harvard) but they're public schools are often negelected as i understand it. Anyway, Belgium is famous for chocolates, Waffles, and French fries of course! :D
2/2 Since 4 years ago, I usually spend two weeks of my summer in Bosnia for volunteering camp (playing with children and something like this). So during the years I learned some phrases in Serbian-Croatian! And my last (for the moment) languages are Arabic and Persian, that I'm studying since September at the university! For the future, I'd like to learn as many languages as I will be able to learn...Well, firstly improving my English, maybe some German....
1/2 Wonderful video! I totally agree with you: it's so useful and also funny to learn foreign languages. For example I'm Italian, I started learning English before going to primary school! At the high school I started with French, a language that I really love, and I learn it well - more or less - but I also started hating English (or better English teacher...) so I forget a lot, unfortunately! I can understand Spanish perfectly, even if have never studied it seriously so I can't speak it well!
Where are you from and how many languages do you speak? you are very inspiring to me! I love learning languages, I'm trying to learn Japanese but I guess it's kinda hard I guess because I don't have the time to learning! I would take the advise of watching movies but in Japanese! Thanks
@87madelaine I'm from Belgium, maybe you don't know my country because most of americans just know our neighbors: Germany and France...
I can communicate in 10 languages, because I grew up in a mixed up society where you can speak with a lot of different people from all around the world except US. Americans don't come to Belgium I don't know why... I think they prefer France
@TommyCrazyBoy well at different levels of fluency: french, dutch, italian, spanish, german, english, chinese(mandarin), teochew, hokkien, and japanese
@loki2504 Wow, lol. You kinda put me to shame. I only speak one language. I'm trying to learn french on my own by listening to music, movies, I even have a CD that teaches it to me. It's called Instant Immersion. That is very incredible. Where are you from, if you don't mind me asking?
@TommyCrazyBoy Well, you can also learn and become better than me ! I had an advantage because I don't live in a monolingual city, here there are 2 official languages.Plus you get to meet people from everywhere ! I'm from Belgium. I guess you don't know about it because it's a very unfamous country xD
@loki2504 No, I know about it. My friends family origin is belgium. Her mothers side speaks french as well. I see that your family origin is asian. Where is your family origin.
@TommyCrazyBoy I have never been out of the U.S. I have always wanted to travel. What do you do to learn all these languages, and howdo you pick it up so fast.
no fun in learning an "easy" language? I guess because you can speak the languages you can I see where you're coming from but for a person (like me) who has studied/is studying and cant speak I tend to believe speaking ANY other language is exciting.
@zocurtis, well the exotic sounds of indonesian are so beautiful so yes it's very interesting to learn it ! I really love it but we don't have a lot of native speakers here in my city... So I cannot pratice...
Sei la prima persona che conosco che conosce così tante lingue! Quando l'ho detto a una mia amica non ci credeva eheh, conoscere così tante lingue è davvero un pregio! Continua così mi raccomando ;)
great video. your english is really good dude. out of curiosity, how many times did you watch english movies/shows? for example, 1,000 movies? also, did you watch intensively or just have it on in the background?
For language enthusiasts, I agree English can be pretty banal, but it does give you access to some quite diverse cultures like British, Canadian, Australian...all great places to visit! :D
@sonrisa86, you're right! Grammar is important when you have a good grasp of the language but not before it. Because it won't help otherwise except for easy languages like indonesian.
I think grammar is important if u need a language not only just for the basic communication but also for the correct writing e.g. at work, school. I actually like grammar, I like exploring the structure of the language, maybe its sounds weird but its just me. But in general ur absolutely right, grammar is not needed as long as people understand u and u understand them. Languages are really fun and you said it so true about people being limited if they dont study other languages :)
Here, in Spain, there are a lot of young people learning japanese because of the "Manga fever". I think it's almost an obsession. Interesting video!! Comme toujours! :)

Indonesian is the easiest language to learn. Do you find it to be fun to learn?
