  • Phantastic! Love it!

  • Totally awesome.

  • lovely

  • Masterful -- beauty that goes far beyond words. Khatib is my favorite Oud virtuoso, and Kuckhermann is masterful-- very soulful duo. This is a dreamteam that should stick together and do more performances. Great soundstage acoustics in that room.

@David K.-- do you sell the CD of your performances with Khatib? Please direct me to where I can buy it. Much respect and thanks for your wonderful work.

  • That is playing

  • Wunder-wunderschönes Zusammenspiel! Ich könnte Euch tagelang so zuhören.

  • Congratulations! Great performance!

I would call it as the "Flamenco way of the East"!

  • this touches your soul!

  • The oud melodies in the beginning have a slight Bulgarian touch, and I adore the harmony between the two instruments. Rad drumming also. :D

  • Oud playing soul..

1:58 Described above a great imagination

  • I am an Iranian frame drum player and I find this style of playing the Daf very interesting. Beautiful guys.

  • His Daf style reminds me of Glen Velez.

My grandfather played the Oud. Too bad he didn't live long enough so his grandchildren could have enjoyed his companionship and musicianship.

He studied cello in Russia. His brother went on to become a well known composer. Some of his music is on youtube.

  • Very wonderful! These two master musicians compliment each other perfectly. America needs to see less of the war and religious strife from the middle east and MORE of this kind of thing. Their is so much beautiful culture for us to share. I'm a very amateur percussionist and David is my hero! This makes me want to learn a melody instrument also.

    Thank you for posting this!

  • @rmcdaniel423 Well said - more exchange of music and musicians and less posturing with war toys can ease angry souls. The harmony of these two musicians has an astonishing calming effect. Our hearts beat to a rythym and we hear our mother's heartbeat for 9 months in the womb, could this be why 'soft' drumming touches us so.

  • Flowers well deserved.

  • amazing great music drumpercussion and the ud player are masters in his instrument

  • Absolute Wonderful synchronization.

  • Writing from Japan.

iAhmad Al Khatib and David Kuckhermann,
