@butkicker75 you can go pretty much anywhere you want except if you go over the blue line before the puck. If you do so it will be offside. And if by going to the bench you meant line changing, they often just call your name and that's when you know :)

how do you know when to go to the bench?

Seriously? The first person to be shown was Brett Hull. He was traded from Calgary because they thought he was such a shitty skater. Frankly he was. So was Al Macinnis, but both of their skills dwarfed their inability to skate.

Yup, keeping your legs moving on a breakaway will make the goalie nervous.

@MrHman33 True don't break your stride, goalie never knows when you are shooting, Also stickhandle with the puck to your side, then you can get a quick shot off, deke or pass.
