  • they should also have olympic medals around their necks

  • I really liked and still like to watch them...their performances were always great pleasure to admire.....thay were so perfectly prepared.....they are missed all over the world...wish they were still performing as a pair...all the best for both of you in your life :-)))

  • And p.s...as for having their own unique style....Bourne and Kraatz dominate as far as creativity, artistry, strength, and innovation. Not only did they invent hydroblading, but their footwork and lifts are superior. Programs like Riverdance, the Michael Jackson medley, and this Adagio of the 21st century are only a few examples of their unique contributions to figure skating and culture in general. They are un traditional and have changed the sport forever!!!!

  • They did not invent hydroblading....they popularized it in competition but it had been done in exhibitions and by singles skaters before.

  • This was one of my favourite moments in figure skating. After the 1998 and 2002 scandals, it's nice to see the judges finally came to their senses.

And, um...xxlxenaxx, seriously "the judges were going for Canada for some reason"???? How about they were going for Russia for almost 40 years!!! The ONLY North Americans to ever win ice dancing at worlds....That's saying something. Shae and Vic are the BEST ice dancers in the world, and no amount of corruption will EVER change that!

  • I love how Kraatz pulls Denkova's pony-tail out of the ribbon on her medal.

  • Great coverage. Finally the 03 world champions.

  • proud to be canadian!! they impact north american ice dance in many ways n ther the only north american team to win gold at worlds!!

  • averbukh an lobacheva should've won this one, but we all know the judges were going 4 canada for some reasons....where they wre be4 candains, the ycame out of nothing at 1st place :s

  • thanks for uploading this video! what a moment! seeing the tears in their eyes, and that maple leaf being lifted up high!

  • Averbuck and Lobacheva were much better.

  • Call it poetic justice for the many years that Bourne & Kraatz were screwed by vote swapping and block judging. The Russians got a taste of their own medicine.

  • As long as we remember them (whoever we remember), it is all what counts I guess.

  • Yes it's what's important. Their impact on ice dancing is one that will be felt for a long time. They'll be long remembered while Lobavcheva and Averbukh will just fall under the title of another Russian ice dance team that won medals but no one remembers. Sad for them but true. BTW I believe B&K are the most decorated North American ice dance team at the World Championships. Not sure though.

  • I have to disagree with you. The fact and the matter is that I am Lobacheva& Averbukh fan and I have to say that just like Grishuk and Platov--they too have their own distinctive style. Moreover, Averbukh has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is one of the most creative people that exist in the business..But since you are not his fan I will not go into explaining what makes me say that. The last thing I want to do is to argue about things of taste...Best wishes and have have a nice day.

  • let's call it a day

  • L & A were very good but their 2003 FD was so garish and paled in comparison to the emotion of B & K. In addition, Averbukh had a tendency to trash talk a lot and criticize other skaters which made him very unlikable. They were over scored and overrated a lot in their short career.

  • When exactly did B&K get screwed by vote swapping, repeatedly even?

  • The 1998 Olympics in Nagano.

  • Thanks for posting. I love this team, the best ever. They never ever disappointed Canada. They are missed.
