I'm not going to say that Luke was right to shoot those guys, because I don't know how they treated him, or if they even did interact with him at all.
But there are always warning signs before something like this happens. If people don't notice, or choose to ignore them, it's not that person's fault.
He clearly needed help, and he didn't get it.
He deserves to rest in peace.
