this is wrong! showjumping puts alot of pressure on joints and so does racing so if you mix the 2 its bad news. i met a 10yo mare who raced for a couple years when she was young and she cant walk now or take care of her own foals, they get taken off her as soon as they are born, but horses who dont race live a very long and happy life, most can walk fine when they are 30 and are still rideable.

@dressageandalusian I know plenty of racehorses who are old and look FABULOUS!! It depends on the owner/trainer/and who gets them after their done racing.

@strathclydefire1 Why should it be a voided race? a horse finished the course didn't it? but i've never seen a race this bad before, this is comical and as much as i love animals horses and racing i couldn't help but laugh at this, it's like a stage show, funny how mccoy won this though

...news to me ...no remounting.....those fences look stiff....no doubt been "modified" since.....part of the packagr nowadays....along with missing out half the fences when the sun comes out......or when the ground gets soft.......
