I am pretty sure that no one has had more "fun" on a golf course than Tiger Woods had June15 - June 18, 2000 (except for the tee ball in round one off of the 18th ;) "GD you MF, your the worst MF'ing golfer in the world". I don't win tournaments; I sometimes have fun, but more than not, I too think I am the worst golfer in the world. As the old (1997) Nike commercial said "I AM TIGER WOODS".

the most dominating win in a major period. this easily tops rory from this year. he's playing with a steel shaft small headed (insert haha jokes) driver and still shoots 12 under. rory's win was impressive but that course was playing kinda easy. the pin placements were in easy spots. most of the greens had a backstop and the ball would spin back

This is Tiger at his best and is by far the best golf performance I have ever seen. The most amazing thing about Pebble beach in 2000 was how difficult the greens were. They were impossible to read and every golfer out there was having trouble with them. Every golfer except Tiger Woods. It was like he was playing on a different golf course, he nailed pretty much all of his puts.

I remember predicting after this awesome performance that Tiger would retire would about 35 majors, he was that superior to his competition. Now it's doubtful if he'll get half that many. Still a stunning performance, though, maybe the best tournament performance in golfing history.

@HalD97 Tiger's performance was infinitely better. He won by 15 strokes and Mcllroy won by 8. When Tiger won no one went under par except for him, so there was few birdie opportunities, but 20 people went under par when Mcllroy won, showing there was plenty of opportunities for birdies. Mcllroy did what everyone else was doing but just a little bit better, Tiger was doing what no one else had any chance of doing.

I remember the USGA kept everyone playing for about four hours before they blew the horn to suspend play. 75 players were still out there and they had to come back the next morning to resume play. Woods did not start his second rount until Friday afternoon at about 430P; he had to finish his second round on Saturday morning. (Search "Tiger Woods likes to cuss" to see him swear on live TV on 18.) Damage was already done after round two. Woods himself admits that he had a good break.

I was there. Hot week (100 degrees on Tuesday). Tiger had a good break on the first day. He had an early starting time on Thursday and finished his first round with 65 when the fog slammed in. Temp dropped from 95 to 70, and visibility was about 60 yds. USGA kept playing everyone for about 4 hours until they finally blew the horn and postponed Round 1, but the damage was already done to the field. Woods was very, very lucky, in addition to making a lot of putts.

lol there were still a few people up there with him after round one...I don't know if you can say winning by fifteen strokes can be described by being very very lucky...it was a full week effort...only two people shot under 70 in round two...other than ernie els, in the third round people just got dominated by the course...tiger didnt and strengthened his lead...and then a 67 in round four...definitely not a tournament where luck helped tiger

No doubt Woods played well that week. However, when fog was so dense that you could only see 60 yards, players could not see where to aim their shots. John Daly hit two shots OB on 18 in the fog (I was in the gallery in the fairway when his two shots sailed over us OB--we couldn't see it but heard it whoosh-thump). He was pissed. So were other players. Hal Sutton, the best ball-striker that time, started later with an eagle on #1 in the sun and barely hung on in the fog for a 70.

No. In the year 2000, I believe Tiger was ranked 1st in driving distance, and near 1st in driving accuracy, lead in total driving, lead in greens in regulation as well. Then he also lead in scoring average and putting. He OWNED golf in the year 2000. Lucky during the first round??? Yeah lucks part of the game. But don't discredit the most dominant major championship win in history. 15 shots.

I stand corrected. I just checked the PGA Tour Stats and yes, he was first in ball striking (combined value 2!). Hal was ranked #6 at the time. Woods played his best golf ever in 2000. He was the best at the time, he played the Nike Tour Accuracy prototype ball when most everyone else played wound balls, he had a good break on Thursday, and he never three-putted. All those combined led to his 15-stroke victory. I still stand that the dense fog made a huge difference on Thursday.

Great video, yeah Tiger completely dominated this tournament. To put it in perspective if you took his worst round of the week(71) and put that as his score for all 4 rounds he still would have won by 3 shots. Some people also seem to forget how tough this course was, some people say "he shot -12 it wasnt a true U.S. Open course" Yeah he did but second place was +3 so if you threw out Tiger's score +3 would have won the tournament which would be one of the highest winning scores of all time.

Tiger has undergone so many swing changes through the years like shortening, more compact and a flatter plane. Where it was at the 2007 PGA was perfect the only reason he doesn't run away with the tournaments these days is because he's become more mature and he's happy to win by a stroke or 2 whereas before when he was just starting out he always tried to blow away the field.

Yes but you don't seem to have understood what part of Tigers game were looking at. Were not suggesting that Tiger used to try and birdie every hole and thats why he won by 15, he never did that and as you said he doesn't today.
