I haven't tested it out yet,but could you place 2 tnt blocks on each ohter, on the spot of the white wool?

So that you shoot away 2 tnt blocks, but 2 that were standing on each ohter.

use this in the upcoming PvP servers, get a raised platform with archers on it to help defend it from incoming enemy soldiers, and raise the spotters platform so he has a 360 degree view, tell you if you should pull back, save your skins but not the cannon

I made a small model based on your design. I can't get the TNT "missile" to launch, it just stays put when the propulsion charge fires. How do you get the missile to launch with out manually igniting it?

The only thing I can't figure out is how you make the missile TNT activate a split second before it's launched. If anyone knows how to do that without Redstone poweder (cause it would have been lit up in the video), it would be muc appreciated.

Why are there no castle vs castle cannon fights on youtube? Surely people do this, even with no pvp mode hardwired in it would be possible. You'd just require each team to have so many stacks of x number of tnt (something decent, like 100 or so) inside a limited area and let them build whatever they wanted to inside that area (you limit the building area to keep from having to dig all day to hit the powder rooms) and don't let either team cross the midpoint. Would be a blast.

theres two main reasons (in my opinnion)

its hard to make cannons just perfect aiming fail proof etc.

also sometimes the TNT moves to the right or left a little instead of falling in the water...

theres so many things that can go wrong...

plus you cant close minecraft without saving (unless you copy the world when your done and jus repaste it when your does blowing stuff up!)

I tried to use this as an example to a cannon I built. It has less firepower capicaty, takes more space, but is automatic, working, fires three of the bombs, located on a stone dome and seems good.

I used 28 repeaters in a very large area, compared to your cannon. I use no inverters. There is enough delay to cause the engine to heat and charge, while the 3 tnt get it later, with the two on the side first and the middle one last. It has been destroyed many times during the making in failed tries.

Two NOT gates, inverters, together. They are called repeaters.

28 in total, means 56 inverters if you transfer it equally.

I saw your other cannons, and also saw you promising making a "how to" video, but I never saw one, so I made myself.

Mine is pretty big, but still fires pretty well.

It's the first one that I made, so I am proud in myself for at least making it work.

That's not that much, it took me four hours in total to make it.

I built the gunner's stand on top of the gun, and not to the side, because the sides and the back are all filled with repeaters.

The timing is still good, there is enough firepower for horizon smash, and It's usable.

I will make a video of it, but my playclaw trial is over. How do you film your videos?

I've created a Cannon nearly exactly like this by studying the "Minecraft Cannon Inverters" video, It has the same basic rail setup but for some reason when I try the 28 TNTs,the top row and right middle-top row always gets stuck. However I can do 5 on bottom and then 2 rows of 4 on each side (26 TNT), why is this? (Oh and I used 40 Inverters exactly and it gave it a perfect timing

@jjmop3 Certain inverter types move faster than others. Which is why I use 51 and you use 40. Chances are you're using the lame, non-compacted or semi-non-compacted inverter set up.

You ought to go over your cannon set up again, you probably messed up the wiring somehow. But fear not, I am going to post a how-to-build video in the future. Uncovering all the secrets to my cannon/timer/inverters! :D

@jacobtribiani that, is called redstone, mostly found at the bottom of the map close to lava, it is used as I/O wiring in minecraft.

How did you do the timing? I would love to figure out how you made the delay for the shot. I'm new to redstone and all I can manage is a launch pathway that the user walks along, with two pressure plates, that creates the delay.

When in water, TNT only damages entities and not blocks. That's the main reason why he has a stream of water running under the TNT blocks; pushing them towards the front is more or less just a useful side effect.

I'm having trouble understanding why the large charges of TNT didn't destroy the cannon on ignition. Unless you're using furnaces, I find this completely hard to believe. Did you set the health of the stone really high? I have to know.

@xSephironx The water in the cannon has an odd property off "muffling" TNT explosions, which allows it to propel the ammunition TNT, but also prevents it from damaging the structure. If the TNT weren't in water, it would obliterate the whole cannon.

@thursdaypostal Haha, thanks! I'm going to try and make a model 5.05.A, which will hopefully be even MORE compacted. As for the timer, it was the result of a fluke. A single fluke which opened my mind to several ways to make a NOT Gate/ Inverter.

Actually, that fluke also fixed up my XOR gates, too.
