Christians believe there is only one God, they dont take Muhammed as a messenger, they see Jesus as a guide to living life, and seeming Jesus is a messenger like Muhammed, they are referred to "people of the book". Technically if they follow Jesus to his TRUE teachings then they are on Par to any Muslim.

Peacevewithyou my point being, that the Quran talks about hypocritical Muslims, a sinnning Muslim (and surely there are some). It states that if a Christian or Jew sticks to their revelation and believes in God and does good then they have nothing to fear or grieve for they will be rewarded. When we compare a hypocritical and sinning Muslim to a good willed Christian, then who do you think Allah would favour? The answer is in the Quran.

Many Christians dont actually worship Jesus, they believe in one God and look up to Jesus and his teachings as a guide for life, seeming he is one of Gods greatest messengers and Allah makes no distinction between his messengers, no one can lose by following Jesus nor Mohammed. The word is SEEK/DESIRE this means if you are already a Muslim and you desire or seek anothr faith, Allah will never accept that off you. Yet if you are born in a monotheistic religion and do righteous deeds, you have nothing to fear- see 2:62.

@1986Faruq If you properly read the Bible and the actions of Jesus you'd automatically be a Muslim, even with the Bible in existance today, never once does Jesus say he is God or the literal son of God, the Bible is full of examples of prophets praying like Muslims - the Bible is pro hijab- anti pork- and most importantly equates God as ONE (there is no trinity coming out of Jesus mouth). Allahs only unforgivable sin is Shirk, that is it, Allah forgives all other sin, you are undermining Allahs grace and power. You are also undermining the goodness of people (Allahs creation) who still believe in Allah and his previous prophets, whilst our world is riddled with Atheists who not only reject Allah but HATE him too. @1986Faruq I do know Ibn Abbas, indeed he is respected and that is fine. Yet his explanation leaves a complete contradiction to many Quranic verses. If The People Of The Book at Not "All Alike" - why would Allah judge them all alike (Straight to hell). You see the Quran is so easy to understand, why do we need explanation for the most simple verses? What is happening is you are taking explanation over the actual words of Allah- the words are clear throughout the Quran yet you rely on Ibn Abbas?

ALL of Allahs prophets came with the exact same message. If a Christian follows Christ they would pray, they would fast, they would be charitable and believe in one God...Yet most Christians simply dont follow Christ. Our prophet stated who does not follow him will go to hell, yet he and Issa and Mussa have the same msg.!

Why would a Jew or Christian get a DOUBLE reward for believing in the Prophet Mohammed- this signals that becoming a Muslim is better for them- but if they are righteous they still get a reward.

Nowhere in the Quran does it state ALL jews and christians will go to hell, there are many examples where it states "If Allah forgives them or punishes them (Jews/Christians)- he is still almighty/wise". Also, to say that Catholics are ahlil ketab can be argued about. Even though they claim to follow the bible and its teachings and jesus and his teachings of the Gospel, they worship Stone Statues of Jesus and His mother Mary. This is not a Christian teaching in any way at all. Rather it something that the pagans of Rome and Greece introduced into the Roman Catholic religion when it was made the national religion during the times of Constantinople.

Yeah thats true, there are many many forms of Christianity and Catholicism, it's a big mess isnt it. Heh. I find Islam to be of much better Clarity. I just think that out of all Christians the "Unitarians" are definetely the closest to Muslims. They deny the trinity, dont believe Jesus was God, they believe in one God and those scriptures. Unitarians claim to be the original form of Christianity before the corruptions 300 years after Christ. I am a Unitarian myself :-). Peace.
