and I think WWII was exempt from most anti-war rhetoric, or should be! Great video = love the editing and the amazing collection of photos of women at work!
That it would "romanticize" the war machine is entirely Your personal interpretation.
Why are You not willing to see any positive aspect of it?
In the explicitly explained context of this channel it is absolutely clear, that the focus are women, not machines.
And in the absence of the men playing war, the women hat to take a bigger role in the homeland economy. this vid reflects the ability of women to adapt to almost any need, even to drive the war machine if necessary.
There is good and bad in everything. that's why the war is called The Mother of Invention. the increasing independence of women is part wise a result of their work which they only got during wartime. Men in the field have a hard time suppressing their wife at home ;-)
On the other hand, not building weapons would have killed their husbands, friends, sons and brothers.
well, to me most of those inventions il'd rather do without. btw i thought the proverb was; necessity is the mother of invention. Speaking of proverbs;
war, to me, is an eye for an eye.... which leaves all men blind. Ok, byeee, Merry X-mas, WAR IS OVER, if you want it.
That accounts only for the troops, not for the benefited ones, the initiators and upholders of war, the capitalists behind the scenes. And that was the meaning of my very first comment here: Have Your remaining eyes on them!
how can you say that? knowing on the other end of that production was death and destruction. not to menton the grieve and trauma lasting for peoples entire lifes! even if they were "the enemy" most ppl suffering from war are ppl like you and me, just trying to live their lives. have a look at this; /watch?v=RRBcwufAuQw (copy and paste)
first of all; i did not say you couldnt say it, i just wondered HOW you could. i did read the rest of your post. still you said it was a SWEET reminder. In my opinion there's nothing sweet about it.
"how can you do that?" implies that You should not have done so.
And looking at these charming women doing quality work while listening to this music is raising a sweet sensation in my emotions. And I did not forget to mention the absurd and prevailing context.
You are definitely barking up the wrong tree! Better bite some capitalists instead!

coz i fail to see 1 positive aspect of war.
instead of working for the war machine they could have demanded to end the war and bring the troops home. like i am doing now for todays wars.
since i'm a woman, i know what we're capable of, thank you.

this proverb exists in both forms.
and there is a link between them,
because in war You feel the necessity more powerful and urgent.

What a sweet reminder of how well a economy can run, even though their main product was war and destruction.
How wonderful life could be if we used all our force for really productive ends and not get exploited by the capitalists in the mean time?

First of all: I can say whatever I want.
Secondly does Your response not reflect that You where reading more than my first half-sentence before Your emotions started to blindfold Your mind.
