If you like your beard, you should not let a women (or anyone else) cause you to shave it off. I bet for as many women who do not like a bearded man there are just as many who do like a bearded man. Why let their whims control us men in any way?

The best way to grow a beard is to let it grow for 3-4 weeks then trim it to a stubble then let it grow for as long as you want it to, this is to make sure that every hair is the same length and the beard is at it's thickest.
Beards are awesome and they further identify the personality behind it. My Ex-missus liked it (to an extent) but I do my best to keep it tidy - I think that's the key, although some women are all about crazy-big beards.
I think there needs to be much more research into what signifies acceptable facial hair-styling in the eyes of women.
By the way dude, your beard suited you - you had a bit of a Jack Black going on there and you sold-out! Keep it trimmed and it should grow thicker.

My wife doesn't like my beard, but I've found since it grew in, I get alot more attention from other ladies. Even my wife's aunt likes my beard.
