Well with no additional evidence they could not convict her anyway in this retarded legal system. She just denied everything and since there was no evidence left after all those years there was no way to prove that she did it, even though everyone knew she did it.

There must have been some STUPID investigators in her town. If he got shot in the heart, it's almost impossible to hold the gun steady at arms length to shoot yourself in the heart, plus who the HELL commits suicide that way anyway. If the gun is up close, you have a different powder burn spread pattern than further away. Those cops are either all drunk or beyond incompetent.
