Hero of Time Movie: Crusader's Review

I saw the LA screening. It was worth it. I do not regret it. A 2 hour drive, and a 4 dollar dinner was worth seeing this movie.

You forgot to mention the duel between Link and Ganon. That was my favorite part of the film.

That's kinda what I meant by the action at the end where Link becomes a real bad ***. I did find it kinda strange though that the final action scene was with the guards rather than Ganon. I think that it should've been Ganon holding Zelda hostage, and Link dying to save her from Ganon rather than Ganon's minions. Still, as I said, those last 2 action scenes made me forget that I was watching an independent movie. Epic action!

Oh, Natalie also had a little more steel. She was never seen in combat, but it was her personality was the steel part, and it out-steeled Hannah if you will.

I loved that movie! BTW yeah, Hannah did better for the action parts, but Natalie was better actress. She was a stage actress also, right?

Oh, in my opinion, Hannah was not a perfect Zelda. Natalie's Zelda did a tiny bit better, because she was wiser and more disciplined. She didn't kick some ass near the end like Hannah did, but she was cautious, she was brave, she was faithful, she was clever and cunning, but she still had her limits. But I do agree, anyone playing Zelda is in for a challenge. Though, the Zeldas in The Triforce Prophecy and Legend of Link sucked. They both knew nothing about the character.

I hated Legend of Link. Started out really good but once it became a complete parody I turned it right off.

I agree with the hero/villain relationship. For Link, Ganon was just someone he had to defeat to save a kingdom. To Ganon, Link was just the same as he was in the games. Dan Hogan's performance as Link in Sage of Darkness far outclassed David Blaine's.  However, the Ganon in this film was better.

Link and Ganondorf should have encountered each other at least one other time in the film. I was hoping I'd see the scene from OOT where Link meets Ganondorf after Zelda and Impa escape. Link should've been pwned, making it all that sweeter when he kills him. And I wanted to see a more personal conflict between Link and Ganondorf.

"Take the movie for what it is" Garbage? "You have no idea the limitations!" And? That doesn't make something GOOD if it it wasn't already. Just as a movie without financial limitations can still suck. Let's list some of the things that are wrong with the movie: Inconsistencies with Ocarina of Time (basically the whole damn thing) Bad acting Link talks =_= Random love plot that never existed Action sucks Fake 17th century accents The actress who plays Zelda looks like she's 40

My friend on the hero of time website (Petoux) told me he reported it to Nintendo, and now Nintendo forced them to take down the movie from viewers.

I just checked the website and you're right. I'm glad I was able to watch in the NYC screening, and a couple of times online before Nintendo pulled the plug. Apparently they were nice enough to strike an agreement with BMB to keep the movie running until the new year.

I saw the movie the other day... I love fan projects, and I'm even making a fan-game myself. (Based around the Zelda-universe of course)... I enjoyed the movie too... but I can't honestly say that I know the joke you were talking about. You are right that people tend to flame for the wrong reasons. I will add that the ones that flame the most have also never tried to make their own vids.

You're certainly not the only one who sees it like that. I've met a lot of people who believe that's the case, and it's a valid interpretation. It's one of the most enduring debates about Zelda and Ocarina of Time.
