I'm 19 nearly 20 in March! and wondering wether i'm too old to start a career in the Marines! I'd be very proud to represent my country and family, through hard work and deication. It's a state of mind.

I had 3 great uncles who were in the Royal Marines in the First World War.One was part of a Lewis Gun crew and saw heavy action against the Germans in several battles.All three brothers came home after the war.Although he died thirty years ago an old man I remember him well and am very proud of him and all those Royal Marines who served in every conflict since up to the present day.We all owe them a debt of gratitude.Dave Turner.

My Father in law was a Marine Commando,Til the day he passed away it never left him Always immaculately turned out, sitting bolt upright in his chair, even while suffering from terminal cancer that Marine state of mind never left him. There was not a dry eye in the church when Sunset was played, He now rest in peace with his comrades. God bless them all.

@Ryans709 good luck mate, if you need any advise just ask, and did you say 3 years? if your around 13 then dont bother mate have fun, practise 1 to 2 years before joining and chances are you might change your mind.

i'm an old soldier from the Lebanese christian forces we as a Lebanese Christians always pray to JESUS to bless the christian soldiers around the world but i have a complains that the USA and BRITISH army in Iraq they ignored the Iraq Christians they let them died and suffer instead of protecting them  at least give them weapons to protect them selves so guys always help your brothers around the world as we do.

The Royal Marines have been in existence for much longer than the Commandos. What happened to the Royal Marines in WW2 who did not pass the Commando tests? I mean they weren't all young guys. There would have been 16 and 17 year-old recruits right up to senior officers in their 50s. Did they keep them, or did they transfer them to non-Commando units in the British Army, Royal Navy or whatever?

@IAmJamesX669 Good for you but it's one of the hardest Officer training courses in the world (I might get shouted at for that - but it is). I was RMR (never got further than Lt) - you have to do the same as the men but plus some. That's how it should be IMO.
