rossevelt brought america out of the depression, same as hitler brought germany out of the depression, think about it, is the world a better place now?
"Betrayal at Pearl Harbor, How Churchill lured Roosevelt into WWII", by James Rusbridger (of the Britsh SIS) & Eric Nave (of the Australian SIO) is another "page-turner" I can't put down. Very detailed, and you are the "fly_on_the_wall" watching and listening to it all. Just amazing, and will completely change your opinions of both FDR and Churchill.
i will never understand why japan would attack a country the size of america, it just doesnt seem right, was someone payed off? it is like waking up a sleeping giant, no sense in it at all
@rabbithog Your question is valid. Yes, the US took 8 deliberate steps to provoke Japan into attacking. The objective was to gain the backing of the American people to enter the war against Hitler. We were never concerned about Japan since we controlled the amount of fuel they had and knew when it would run out. Remember, 88% of the people were against going to war. The attack changed that instantly. Please take the time to study this. It's an eye opener.
@guitaraddict211 Well, he was certainly the greatest President of the 20th Century. For the 19th Century, that honor belongs to Abraham Lincoln. The 18th Century: George Washington, of course!

Why pictures? Cause U eat w/ur eyes 2! We use all our God given senses because we can & we WILL. With the advent of technology it is possible to go beyond the telegraph, the CB radio. Sure, U remember the good ol'days when U usta huddle around the family's only radio 2 listen 2 Lil Orphan Annie, but they've got picture radios now! What a joy! A picture paints 1000 words; evokes thought & memory; caputres a fragile moment in time.
this was a time when countrys had the balls to go to war ,, to line up on land and on sea to fight it out,and win or lose by the military might they have , it should be so now , declare war ,, invade and conquer, dont police , dont do precise strikes, bomb them, bomb them , and bomb them, then go in and take possession, or dont do any thing at all

I'm no expert on presidents, but, from all that I heard of this one, I can't help but admire him.

Though his political beliefs weren't the same as mine, this was certainly FDR'S finest hour.

Trying to read your notes on screen while listening is annoying. I feel either post it before or after the speech or not at all.
