@jzonda415 Youth D boys shared the same routes as youth C girls. The first problem(1:29) was a V0 that everyone completed. The second and third were V3s(2:00). The final one was a V5(1:41 and 0:48). None of the youth "D" boys completed that problem. However, one of the youth "D" girls completed it in the finals. She is a beast at bouldering though.
@mpgxsvcd thats crazy in youth c last year in ann arbor the hardest problems they had were like v4 but that was in finals although they had like a v6 for youth c girls, but a v5 in youth d i think is a bit insane
@jzonda415 The reigning youth D Pan American climber was in our region and climbed against my son in youth D. He flashes V7 consistently and has a +4 wingspan to height. They have to set normal routes at the bottom for the other kids and then ramp it up to V7 at the top to challenge him. He breezed a 5.14 the other day at Stone Summit and he is only 11. This kid is fun to watch.
@mpgxsvcd wow 514 thats crazy and ive done v5 and a 512 {check out my videos} but 514 at 11 is CRAZY! also lol at 0:27 how that counted as try witch i think is unfair in my mind but hay those are the rules! love your videos and i always love when your new videos come out! also nice work jason he always does awesome
@mpgxsvcd ok averything u say is credible up 2 the part of 5.14, man Adam Ondra flashes 5.14, he is 16, so theres NO FW he "breezed" a 5.14 im LMAO!!!
@Enforcer2811 Yea I understand your skepticism. However, you can go to Stone Summit in Atlanta and check it out for yourself. His name is on the FA for a 5.14 there. Here is a clip of him on an outdoor 5.13a. youtube.com/watch?v=Ame5kFcNXeE This kid is for real. He will be competing in the Sport National championships at Stone Summit in two weeks. The rules don't allow him to climb on lead in comps yet so they might have trouble trying to set a 5.14 top rope route.
@guitarslayer71 That is all they are allowed to say in regional and national comps. You can't give any beta or say anything but encouraging words. If they said something as simple as "go for that next hold" they could be putting their climber in jeopardy of disqualification. Usually, spectators are limited to just saying the climbers name and "let's go", "great job", or "come on".
@ijariel12 It was shot with the new Panasonic GH2 digital camera. I used the 14mm F2.5 lens, 20mm F1.7 micro four thirds lenses, the Nikon 30mm F1.4 lens, and Canon FD 55mm F1.2 lens. You can use any lens from any company in manual focus mode on the GH2 with an adapter.
Awesome video. I'm trying to start making competition videos and you're videos are a big inspiration to me. I'd love to hear any advice you have for me.
