@05istanbul It's the areas coverage Coogan is trying to bring forward. He said he was fine with finding problems with corruption or politicians but when it turned to others such as celebrities or vicitms (he describes as tittletattle) the methods used to get the private information that isn't directly in public intrest is immoral. A celebrity giving a talk to a news paper is different from taking private information from someones phones.

Coogan sells comedy performances, not his personal life.

It's reprehensible that people seem to think they own celebrities just because they are famous. Please explain why we need to know which celebrity is on drugs or shagging prostitutes? The problem is that The News Of The World are trying to defend what is frankly indefensible. The fact that they hacked Milly Dowler's phone messages and listened to/deleted messages is dangerous when the police are undergoing serious investigations. It could not only delay the judicial system, but increase the chances for the criminal reoffending.

What is even worse is why the police didn't catch onto the phone hacking affair sooner...

It would be fair to hack celebrites because the convosations will be heard anyway. What gets me pissed off is that they hack people like Milly Dowling and the parents of Afgan troops who died.
