This sounds a lot like the 'Cracked' top 5 list of badass soldiers, the list is the same to. But nonetheless great videos, I'm thoroughly enjoying them and I'm glad that someone put up a video about 'Mad' Jack
man your forgot that this badass used to rock a longbow and arrows in ww2 everyone else has thompsens m1 grands and this guy picks a bow and arrow and a fucking braodswoard to go into battle with.
I'm actually related to jack through my father's side of the family; i actually am Scottish - but he seriously wasn't, he was English. I was lucky enough to actually meet him two or three times when i was a wee boy and he spoke like prince charles. He loved Scotland though, and everything Scottish. When he died he left me his kilt because i told him wheni was about seven that i wanted to be a soldier like him (rolling in his grave now; i became a mathematician instead!)
WTF!? Scotsman!? Piss off! We don't have any badass Heroes! Why should Scotland have it just because he played the bloody BAGPIPES AT WAR!?.. stupid American taking my stupid nationality pride..
@gruntFree Well, it's not geographical - no American could tell a welsh from a cockney, it's more the mental association. Scotsman, that sounds like badass, like "Braveheart", like "Highlander", that sort of stuff.
Englishman, at the other hand ... Mr. Bean, bowler hats and crumpets anyone? Have you seen "Rob Roy", by the way? Great, great film ... ;)
... Mr Bean as a badass?.. NO-nonono. Mr Bean is comical, entertainment, not fucking military or badass you idiot, you compare Highlander and Braveheart to Mr Bean when really Mr Bean is compared to Kevin Bridges and Frankie fucking Boyle.
@Pfenixfire08 Documentaries like this are not made in hours, try weeks or months. Half-assing may have been the tactic in high school, but it will make you look like a fucking fool in "real life".
@MrFreemason1 Dude, you act like I don't know this. Anything of quality takes months or even years of dedication. If you think you're passing along some golden nugget of sagely advice you are barking up the wrong tree. I did this for fun. I learned a lot doing it. Everyone is happy :)
@MrFreemason1 Oh I do strive. I fail so I see what I need to do to succeed. I make an attempt no matter how seemingly feeble. Unlike an asshole who uses his account to do nothing more than troll. Get a life man.
Here, it disnae matter what side of the border he's from because he's British. Did enjoy the video but it could have been enhanced with the removal of plagarism.
Seems to me this guy isn't exactly an admirable character. Other than being very lucky not to get a hole drilled in his head, he led his whole unit to their deaths, and he wanted the war to continue just so he could take a few more german heads? Its an interesting story, but Scottish people (or english, whatever)shouldn't be any more proud of him than the english are of Jack the Ripper.
@cannonski And some English Soldiers (as well as Scots, Welsh and Irish... and Indian, Newzealand, Australian, South African, Jamaican etc- I could go on) have served in wars started by American presidents recently and German politicians in the 20th Century. Your point is what?
How come I keep reading that he was Scottish? He was English.
You don't have to be Scottish to fight with the Highlanders, a British regmt is a British rgmt. As long as you are British, you can fight for any regiment you want to.
Claymore's aren't typically Scottish, by the way. In fact, neither are bagpipes for that matter. Well, I suppose you would say that the pipes were typically Scottish but they weren't invented there, they have been in use for many millennia, used by the ancient Greeks, Romans and even the Indians.
This is not to take anything away from the Scots. It doesn't need to be said the influence they have given to the World!
True, i'm from the North east of England and am quite partial to the northumbrian pipes (you don't blow, you have bellows under your opposite shoulder). Didn't mean to reply to you. I meant to reinforce what you were saying! :)
@Triplesod Perhaps but you english always did use the celtic forces as shock troops, be they welsh or scottish, even up to the Falklands (ie the Scots Guards got the 'honour' of taking Mt Tumbledown while the english sat comfy).
@cannonski What a knob you are! Yes, there are Scots, Welsh and Irish Guards regiments, but they no more 'shock troops' than the Paras, Royal Marines or indeed any other Infantry Regiment we have. Look up what the Paras and RM did in the falklands, the Royal Anglians and the Mercians did in Afghan (and continue to do). Oh, wait, they arent celtic.... Your point is empty!
@goodbadugly654 I agree with what you're saying, mate but must you be so obnoxious and nasty in the way you say it?
It's a shame because it's going to put people off what you say, or prevent people from taking it seriously.
Honestly, your points will do a lot more good and reach a lot more people if you put them down politely and interestingly. Abusing people honestly won't get you anywhere.
years after the war when he lived in England again, he used to throw his bag from a moving train everyday on his way home from work. when he was asked why he did this he said he threw it into his own back garden so he didnt have the hassle of carrying it from the station - LEGEND! makes you proud to be English lol
This video did talk about jack after the 2nd world war. At 40, he completed jump school an became a paratrooper and fought in palestein and commanded an armored car during battle in full dress uniform just to name one instance!
-Churchill was a damn good archer. He represented England in the Archery World Championships in 1939
-In 1940 (When the germans were trying to take over France), he led crazy raids on german supply depots armed with his bow, arrows and sword. While riding in a motorcycle
-He took part in the daring amphibious assault on the German base in Vaagso, Norway as leader of Commando 2. He obviously succeeded in his mission.
I have never said it was mine. I gave cracked full credit. Linked their article. I added a few things here and there to make it work in the video. 90% of it theirs. If Cracked was ass pissed as you about this I would take all five of the videos down, but since I have not they are going to stay. Me thinks you need to calm down sir.
