AH HMMM> RESPONDING TO THE VIDEO: Absolute truth!! I agree, lets make it ONE of the biggest Christmas song. I still think Silent Night should remain supreme.
@witchyfwog I talk to God everyday and he never mentions any of this! I think he has a very large universe to look after and wishes we would realize that we are all connected whether we like it or not.
I am a Christian. I think that all this "back and forth" arguing about whether Christ was the Savior or whether there is a God is not right. You Christians need to think very carefully about how you think Christ would act? I doubt he would spend time arguing and criticizing those who don't believe. He would simply tell the truth and leave it at that. Organizing Christians to boycott stores who forget to say "Merry Christmas" is just simply wrong. We Christians can make our own choices.
@whatgoesaround696 I disagree. The ugly, lonely, perpetually miserable liberal atheists HATE Christmas, and they very much want to see us no longer celebrate it. They HATE holiday cheer, they HATE to see others happy, and most of all, they HATE people of faith. Too bad for them, because Christmas is here to stay. I am fed up to the teeth with wishy-washy Christians as well who constantly seek approval from the Left.
Weasler455, I AM VERY CONSERVATIVE and completely disagree with the liberal left. However, I am also very Christian and can see HATE in a lot of the words used to defend our faith and our liberties (Even your words). We need to figure out a way to do it without the anger and the hate. Zeroing in on stores that may or may not have any intended anti-Christmas intentions is just flat wrong, What control does the store owner have over those workers who may not wish a Merry Christmas?
@whatgoesaround696 What can the owner do? HE CAN FIRE THEM! Just as he would any other employee who is disrespectful to a customer. But the issue here has more to do with store signs and displays than with words are said.
Sorry, but you are NOT "very conservative". You're misguided at best - more likely a phony. Why do WE "need to figure out a way to do" things without anger? Let the goddamn Left worry about that! You are mistaking my anger for hate - not that I care.
@Weasler455 Oh, now I understand . . . I really am not arguing with a fellow conservative. I am arguing with someone who "thinks" they are a Christian. Never mind . . . You will never understand what I am saying . . .
7 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
@whatgoesaround696 Don't call me a "fellow conservative". You are not fooling ANYONE. You're just another lying liberal who won't admit to who he/she is. I've seen it hundreds of times.
PS: Don't even THINK of quoting the Bible to me. It also condemns liars and lying - worry about that part yourself.
@Weasler455 YOU are guessing that I am a liar. I, and everyone else KNOWS for sure that you take God's name in vain. The fact is that I am a Conservative, Christian. I have NEVER voted for a Democrap. I have also served as a missionary(for many years) without pay. I have NEVER taken the Lord's name in vain and I have NEVER lied, or broken any of the other 10 commandments. Now, will let those who read this blog be the judge of who is telling the truth and who is the true Christian.
@whatgoesaround696 . No true Christian would EVER even suggest that he never lied, had taken the Lord's name in vain, or broken any of the other 10 commandments. Read Romans 3.
Nice try, liberal. You people are really sick. I'm SO glad I am not one of you.
@whatgoesaround696 It's because of supposed "Christians" like you who refuse to stand up for your faith, worrying all time that we might be offending someone by practicing our faith, that we have the problems we do with atheists. We greatly outnumber them, therefore, we should show them who is BOSS. What did Christ do when he saw people disrespecting the temple by using it as a market? Did he sit and ponder "How can I reach these people without upseting them?". Guess again.
@Weasler455. I think most likely that YOU are the "supposed" Christian. Christians who believe that we should hate our enemies and treat them like they treat us are not reading the Bible very carefully. Don't get me wrong; I am for standing up for my beliefs and for the Gospel, much like Christ did when he drove the money changers out of the temple, but there is a distinction between "firm" and "hate" We can be firm and we can stand firm, but we are on the wrong side of Christ if we hate.
@whatgoesaround696 And how exactly are you being "firm" in your faith? You can't even be firm enough to say Merry Christmas! Not sure where I advocated "hate", having once been a misguided liberal myself when I was younger and dumber, I can tell you that he Leftists who say "Love, love, love" are far more hateful and intolerant than anyone I have ever seen on the right. That's right - ANYONE. One day you might open your eyes and you'll see that as well for yourself.
I had to laugh when I checked this one (an email from an aquaintance). What a joke. I added a few stanzas of my own....as where driving to go shopping for Christmas, let's cut some people off the road,. And all the while while we're driving lets sing in our self righteous mode. And when we fight for a parking space and get one right by the door, we'll thank Jesus by buying a bible made in China by little children.
ummmm, just want to say, what about the celebrity pastors that sell Christ all year long, yes, they prostitute Christ and feed off their flocks as if their mega churches are their own private money market.
How about salt of the earth, a city set on a hill, joy of the Lord as your strength to draw people to the Living Savior who will fill your heart with peace when you confess your sin and need for a savior, the matchless name of Christ.
Hi, I'm an ordinary person who just wants to wish you a happy holiday. For that, I have made this video. I hope you like it. Click on my channel and you will watch it :)! Thousands of thanks world! :)
@dolphsavage Too bad. Learn to live with it. If you don't like Christmas, move to a Muslim country where they don't celebrate it. And while you're there, tell them how silly Ramadan is, Mr. Courageous Atheist. That will take care of the likes of YOU.
@Weasler455 WOW. How ignorant can a person be? I don't want to move to a Muslim country, idiot. I don't have any desire to live in a theocracy of any kind, that's why usually I enjoy living in America. This video is stupid, tell me how it's not. Wasting your time fretting and frowning about the greeting people give you during the holidays is retarded. (Or you're just a troll, judging by a lot of your comments.)
This video is TERRIFIC. The message is loud and clear: You want our Christmas dollars? Then say "Merry Christmas", which is WHAT IT IS. If you don't, then the dollars will go to someplace else to someone who CAN say it. Anyone with half a brain can comprehend that message (unfortunately, with your 1/4 brain, that excludes you).
@CommieCowboy Just TRY it, sissy liberal atheist homo. I'll show you EXACTLY what the Second Amendment is all about. What a real good Christmas present THAT would be!
Don't call me a fucking liberal. And for that, matter don't make assumptions about who I am or what I believe. Few Christians outside of Dixie have any use for the religious right, and this video coupled with your jokes about my masculinity and my sexual orientation are exactly why we do not put up with the intellectual and moral bankruptcy of the far right. I\d love to see you last a day anywhere in the world where culture, intellect, and diversity rule the day.
@CommieCowboy You're not a liberal, eh? Guess again, pal. No conservative would EVER use the liberal inspired terms of "religious right", "sexual orientation", "far right", or "diversity". Get a clue, pal.
I'm a social democrat and I consider the use of the term "liberal" to describe us to be an abomination. I don't doubt that you're a conservative like some people here seem to do, but I do think you're about 8 years old, especially when you start throwing around slurs like "Democrap". I don't recall Jesus every behaving that way, and I have come to expect better from his followers (though Richard Dawkins' hate mail suggests that my expectations are quite unreasonable.)
@CommieCowboy I don't know what a "social democrat" is, and I did not use the word "Democrap". You're defending "poor" Richard Dawkins because he gets "hate" mail? Screw him! Ever hear some of the things he says about religion? What are people supposed to do - love him for it? The bastard is lucky he's still alive! Do you have any idea what Muslims would do to a jerk like him who insulted Islam? TRUST ME, naive one, it would be a a lot worse than hate mail. That's OK with you?
Christmas is not mentioned in the Bible. I don't know if the good Book has a particular date when Yeshua was born. Christmas Sunday sounds like a pagan day of Sun worship. The Roman Catholic Church; the Vatican (The Whore of Babylon) and all of her Harlots (other Churches) that came out of her.
My family celebrates Christmas.
We have a big family with close friends supper and enjoy the Spirit of Christ on that day. Saturday is the day God rested; not Sunday. The First day of the week is Sunday.
@Starpass Correct, we don't know what day Christ was truly born. So we selected 12/25 a long time ago. And we celebrate that by saying Merry Christmas. Don't like that? Move to Iran and tell the Mudslimes all that is wrong with Islam. Lots of luck.
@Weasler455 and what is your point exactly? I do the Christmas thing; gifts for the kids and fun with the family. The Catholic church is a false church. They hold secrets about Jesus that we are not allowed to know; things that would raise us up and be born again. Being raised up; or those who can 'overcome' this world and raise ones consciousness above it are truly born again. We both know we will never change a Muslim's mind. To be slain in the spirit is proof or Christ.
@greenhornet123 I accidentally went to celebrity atheists website-and I was shocked at how many in the entertainment business are die hard atheists. Sandra Bullock, Ray Romano, Uma Thurman,Richard Dreyfuss,Donald Sutherland, Morgan Freeman, David Bowie, Dave Matthews,Bill Gates, Ellen Page, Elton John, Robert Redford, Richard Pryor, Ricky Gervais-and on and on. The fact that many post like they do on you tube isn't shocking anymore. I have come to realize we are surrounded by fools .
@Starpass You are talking about Matt 5:22. The word "fool" in English is different than the Greek word used to write the New Testament. Fool means "one with a lack of judgement" in the English language. In the Greek more a judgement or attack on intelligence as a whole. Jesus used murder in His explanation in these verses. You have to agree these that have chosen atheism have not used good judgement seeing as what is at stake by this decision. Sorry for any confusion though.
@harrill7 Hey man (harrill7) It's me who should be apologizing. I need to read as He wants me to. I don't understand what you mean by saying "Jesus used murder in His explanation."
At the moment I am befuddled and very tired. Thanks for the information. Merry Christmas
(Yes; it's a pagan holiday but it's nice) and Nobody seems to know when Jesus was born.
The way he is pictured through time it appears to be Summer. Is there scripture on the day of the week He was born on? Answer? Fact?
@harrill7 Remember what God said about the Rich. "A rich man has as easy a chance at getting into Heaven as a Camel has in fitting through the eye of a needle." They know they are damned already, so why believe in God? Do you honestly believe they will repent?
Many actors have Sold their Souls, and that is a Fact.
@harrill7 Atheists make me feel sorry for them. Bliss through ignorance is a nice feeling but it is a false feeling. True feelings can only come through Christ Jesus. I have talked with the devil and with Yeshua. Saved with 'hands on' as soon as I said 'Yes' to having Yeshua in my life I was put to the floor on my knees. The power of the love I felt pushed me to the floor. I cried tears of joy saying "I didn't know I'm so sorry; I didn't know" I got up real fast and almost ran out. )
@fedos You want to be an atheist moron? Be one. Just leave the rest of us alone.
BTW, since your such a "smart" and "courageous" atheist, try being one over in a Muslim country. Poke fun of THEIR religious holidays, and that stupid black box they march around in Mecca. Tell them that THEIR religion is all based on "magic sky fairies" as well. Know what'll happen, liberal loser? You'll get your ugly head handed to you.
@harrill7 I've talked to the Devil and to Christ. They both answered. The devil scared me so bad; his voice scared me so bad I was dropping bundles of news papers where I worked. I Never drop stuff. Yeshua was more humble and His spirit is so peaceful. The devil doesn't have a spirit. I thought it was the methadone. The devil had me in a higher consciousness for 8 months. There was no spirituality, but I thought it was because of the methadone. He deceived me big time. It was nice tho
@Starpass No, I don't think it's possible that your delusions exist anywhere except in your brain. If imaginary beings are talking to you then you should talk to a professional. You admit that you have disorder, this could be having a negative impact on your perception of the world.
No scientist would say that "bipolar is a stepping stone to enlightenment". I do see such claims being made by woo peddlers, however.
@harrill7 Masons call the entity they worship the "Great Architect. Atheists deny the existence of God. If Dreyfuss is either he has either rejected the fact there is a God, or he has decided to not worship Christ who said "I am the way, the truth, the life". The Great Architect can't get one to heaven. To deny God won't get you there either. So-the man has trouble either way-being an atheist or a mason. Freemasonry and Christanity are not the same, and do not have the same payoff.
@harrill7 Who said Masonry and Christanity are the same? Of course they aren't! You make the same mistake all fundamentalist critics of Masonry make. It is NOT a religion or a substitute for religion. IT IS A FRATERNAL ORDER that requires members to be believers - PERIOD. Masons don't go to lodge to worship the Great Architect or anyone else, outside of a general prayer to God, just like Congress does at its sessions. Nothing more, and nothing less. Why is that so hard to understand?
Everyone should be allowed to say "Merry Christmas", "Happy Vesak", "Gong Xi Fa Cai", "Selamat Hari Raya" without feeling guilty about saying it. Just lumping everything under "Happy Holidays" would be too sterile and boring.
What does the myth of Santa Claus, whose ultimate effect is to teach little children that adults are deceivers, have to do with the birth of Christ? More cognitive dissonance dumped upon us to make us incapable of ratiocination
Well produced. The message is somewhat confusing. For happiness is contagious. Open the door and say "merry Christmas everyone". Then go to the next door. After all, it's about spreading cheerfulness. YOU can't spread cheerfulness if you don't open a few doors.
Right on, let's not forget and stand up for what we believe in. We respect every other religion and people choices but yet again they can't stand it when we say merry Christmas. If it wasn't for Jesus Christ, there wouldn't be any Christmas break, family gathering and just the spirit of given that we feel in December, etc. Thank you God for sending Jesus to save us!!!!
Silly folks will forget why we celebrate Christmas and focus on ridiculous notions of pagan this and pagan that. Jesus is the Risen Saviour and He knows our hearts. It doesn't matter when we celebrate Christmas, or if we have a tree or not. What matter is that we remember Him, why He came, what He did for us, and have a daily walk with Him. Showing His love at this season of the year is what we should be doing. Merry Christmas everyone! Jesus is the reason for the season!
@GuerillaReporter Bless you; my brother in Christ. I walk and talk to Yeshua almost every day. Sometimes I am being selfish and seem to forget that the Almighty is watching every move I make; every thought I have, every thing I say, and every thing I do. It's tough being a true Christian; there is so much pain in the world. God would rather have us stay on the path now and do our suffering now, than have us go through the second death, from which there is no return.
@GuerillaReporter Stop looking for approval from the atheist Left. They will NEVER accept us. You don't want to celebrate Christmas? Then DON'T. But you take all the "Happy Holidays" and "Season Greetings" signs in the world and shove them down the throats of the ACLU.
I've always hated ORGANIZED RELIGION, as in churches etc..but have always had my OWN bond with MY GOD. It has worked quite well for me for 6 decades
. I have no problem responding in kind to calls of Happy Hanukah etc. and my friends of other faiths have no problem wishing me a MERRY CHRISTMAS! PC-ness really HAS gone too far. Tolerance and INCLUSION is a MUST in a multi-cultural democracy. Peace~Out! <333
Does anyone else see a disconnect between boycotting a store that doesn't have "Merry Christmas" in the window and the lyric "wishing love to all & peace on earth?" Just saying.
@digitalpreacher I see no reason why someone can't wish love to all and peace on earth while choosing not to spend their money in a business that doesn't share the Christmas spirit with them.
@EyeLuvAmericanPride the spirit of Christmas is unconditional love, did Christ ask anyone "are you a christian" before accepting him/her to his gatherings???So what if some are not in the spirit!Going to that business/person and sharing your happiness just by your presents you have given that soul something precious because happiness is contagious and knows no boundaries!!!But the problem is no one is REALLY happy these days,no genuine smiles on peoples faces in Malls, more stressed ones.
All this conversation speaks to the problem of multi-culturalism...it DOES NOT WORK.
A nation is defined by one DOMINANT culture, faith, language, heritage. This nation was founded by white Christians, rooted in the Bible. But, because of multiculturalism, there are those that want to displace our faith which is Christian...it's a COUP. There is an enemy within that is doing everything to destroy this Christian nation. Our laws were formed, rooted from the Bible, but now many repealed...
The Treaty of Tripoli, ratified in 1797, included a clause stating, "...the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion...". Realize that it's part of a much larger text, but the clause is there, submitted by then-President John Adams.
@ptak1sm And out of every other document leading up to the founding of this nation and in developing the Declaration and Constitution - all of which at least make reference to God - you want to focus on a single treaty as proof this country was not founded based upon Christian philosphophy? Not entirely intelligent.
@gregorbakhar Look, you want to attack my intelligence, fine. That's your prerogative. All I was trying to do was bring some historical fact into this discussion instead of religiously/politically based diatribes.
As I'm sure you're well aware, it takes more than talking about God to make one Christian. Being Christian involves a change in lifestyle, a change in attitude.
If all men are created equal, doesn't that include...all men? Regardless of religious affiliation?
So in the love of Christ as Christians, we should threaten business owners/stores that we will withhold our business from them? How about handing them a gospel tract instead? :)
Let's all agree 'Tis the season of love and joy - just some of us still need to worship archaic Gods and mangers and such to make it work for us. If you think this is a little harsh then PLEASE wake up and do some rational thinking and just a little bit of research about your irrational and unsuportable beliefs and Merry Christmas to one and all. Or go to church and pray more - see how that works for ya.
I agree with those of you who have recognized the anti-Christian attitudes in this song. Along with that, is the focus on commercialism, something that we should be attempting to limit in our celebrations. I am a Christian and I say 'Merry Christmas'. Others can say whatever they want! I don't need to force my beliefs on them and I don't feel threatened by them saying
something different. It's kind of sad knowing that people feel the need to write such a song!
A nation is defined by it's culture, faith, heritage, language...this country was founded by white Christians...rooted in the Bible. For those that don't like it...I suggest you leave the country, or keep quiet and not disrupt or try to destroy our country.
Multiculturalism is destructive, has never been successful.
@Kyle50Easy First off, it's just one choir from a certain place... They may not have a wide variety of races from that area. And secondly, people are people, who fucking cares about the colour of a persons skin?
I went into WENDY'S and will never be back..I asked them where is Christmas?? they said they are not allowed to put decorations up...I told them that was UN AMERICAN and they should speak up! I went home and got on WENDY'S website and told them that Dave Thomas is in his grave and can't do anything about this...but I can..I won't be back!
@Kyle50Easy Wow, why does everyone have to be so politicly correct? It's about the message, not about the color of the people's skin! Thumbs up if you agree.
@parrotbill And you are a true embodiment of Jesus' teachings indeed. If you claim to be Christian and are proud of it, why not follow Jesus' example and lead others to Him by being an example yourself? Hint: Insulting others (even your "enemies") is not the way to go.
I'm a fervent follower of Jesus, but I don't like the message of this song. Jesus wouldn't "walk right out the door," he would walk in and love those whose businesses don't say merry christmas in the window. Sure, encourage other Christians to happily greet one another with "Merry Christmas" on their lips, but don't make Christmas yet another reason to divide us from those that Jesus would have us befriend.
This song further encourages a mentality of "us vs them". There's a big difference between encouraging people to say "Merry Christmas" and telling people they have no right to celebrate their own holidays which happen to coincide with Christmas.
Jesus asked us to love our enemies. Ironically, the stores that this song tells me to boycott are more welcoming and loving than those who claim to follow Jesus' teachings!
I am boycotting Best Buy because their ads comparing themselves to Santa Claus may as well be comparing Best Buy to the Baby Jesus. Retailers have really forgotten what Christmas is all about. Its not about Best Buy. How self absorbed can they get? Maybe that is why their sales are down from last year.
Walmart and Target dont sell Christmas Presents Anymore. They are Selling Holiday Presents, which Sterilizes the Shopping Experience and is Why Noone is Shopping with a Smile on Their Faces. As for Atheists, I Pray for Their Lost Souls. You likely had Bad Parents and Liberal Teachers. You didnt Have a Chance. You are Disenfranchised like the Poor.
@ClarkeBarre I pray for your shift key, I don't know how it can handle such abuse. Is it that you have to take so long between forming each word your brain thinks it's beginning a new sentence each time?
@ClarkeBarre In the Walmart near my house..they actually have signs and banners throughout the store saying 'Merry Christmas' ! I was so happy to see that!
Um, capitalism is the reason we celebrate shopping in the stores leading up to the end of December. Store owners want everyone to shop. Happy Holidays!
@scatbacker There is a store owner in my son's town who is a Muslim. He will indeed say Merry Christmas back to you if you say it to him. Remember, they believe Christ was a prophet, and a holy man, so they have no problem with hearing you say it.
I Say Happy holidays, and Merry Christmas... and this video and anyone who beliefs there is some giant conspiracy against it is an idiotic! Get a life! and be happy for the Holiday season you whack job conspiracy theory nuts.
@soulflower1970 said: "...instead get out and help a poor person, a homeless person, a widow, a sick or incarcerated person."
Why? As an atheist, I can tell you none of us would ever do such a thing, unless there's something to gain by doing it, like scoring easy pussy or getting paid!
What's the point of doing good when there's no god to judge us anyway, no "reward in heaven" and all that fundy shit.
All that matters is getting religion banned world wide, only then will we get "Peace on Earth."
So the way to show Christ's love is to boycott people who choose to acknowledge the myriad of holidays occurring at this time of year, some of them not even remotely related to religion (see: New Years). Good to know.
I dislike the modern Christmas for multiple reasons, the rabid consumerism being the biggest one. If you want to recognize Christmas, don't buy presents. Donate to a charity you're fond of. Give from what you've been blessed with for the well-being of others. That is Godly.
@ptak1sm your last sentence is powerful!!!!And few live by that and yet call themselves "Christians".When I look around me I can say the meaning of Christmas has been reduced to "Mickey Mouse, comical sounding songs, and consumer terror!
When did "Happy Holidays" STOP meaning, "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year"? Why can't that be how you interpret it anymore? Because the world has decided to acknowledge other holidays, and you can't stand the thought of other peoples' holidays being included with your own?
You sure are a whiny little self-absorbed cunt-baby aren't you?!
I wonder if Santa knows you cuss like a pirate's whore at skool, masturbate your virgin pussy under your sheets every night, and blaspheme your holy spaghetti monster for cursing you with such "lameass stupid parents!"
Keep bitching about how "duummbb" all your worthless relatives are for sending you a shitty holiday greeting (how fucking dare they!)
I hope Santa knows about your evil deeds, bad girls don't get toys!
What a LOVELY Christian sentiment form such an INCLUSIVE and TOLERANT organization! I am so glad you have brainwashed (oops) taught your children to sing so sweetly of other peoples' religious values and sensibilities.
I like the song and its lyrics, but i strongly dislike the use of the acronym ACLU !!!, Especially considering that it is the original ACLU that is having Christmas and all references to christianity removed from America.
Hey, we Christians are very protective of the pagan holiday we stole and then whored out to big business. How dare you try to secularize our celebration of consumerism.
Buying gifts in itself is not bad, but the reason for the celebration should not be forgotten. The enemy of Christians want to make diversions, want to take Christ out of the picture, and our lives..
I say keep Christ's conception as a light to the world!
Being Christian doesn't mean stupid. We can "love" our enemies, but should not allow our culture, faith to be displaced. This is or was a Christian nation, until creeping humanism took hold. We've been forced fed political correctness.
We've allowed the ungodly to take the helm of this country. We WILL take it back and we WILL WIN in the end.
@LoisJD I agree, being Christian doesn't mean being stupid. It means turning the other cheek. "But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also." (Matthew 5:39)
@308winsniper Read some history - the history of your own religion - Dec 25th was celebrated as the birth of several differnt gods of viginal birth, miracles, rising from the dead, etc. long before JC came along - the day was stolen by Christians and called Christmas hundreds of years AFTER he supposedly roamed the earth.
If you said it to my face, I'd break your face, just remember that when you're out spreading your holiday cheer, any one of those people could be me, knock you the fuck out like a chump.
Oh, and since you mention it, keep your scumbag opinions to your scumbag self, all the world needs is yet another blithering fundy fucktard spewing his asinine ".02 cents" everywhere when its clearly not worth any more than what you say.
In other words, keep your pretty little fuck mouth shut!!
@HardlineAthiest So we shall watch you go below in the final day of judgement? Just think of it this way: Say there is no heaven and PRAY there is no Hell.
So many Christian haters here! Shame, Shame on all of you! You want the Christian holiday, Christmas, but you celebrate it as pagans. Then are angry if the real meaning comes out!
"Bless them, Father, for they know not what they do."
Why do Christians have to engage in Christmas cultural wars???? I call this a "Hatin for Christmas" video. Happy Hanukah and Merry Christmas :( How ugly...
What about all the other times of the year? Do you shop in those boycotted stores then?? What if they say Merry Christmas, but sell items intended for different religions, according to how different religions recognize Christmas, Yule, or whatever they call *their* holiday? Just some thoughts.. Happy Festivus (from a believer in Christ but not a believer in Christ-mass)!!
So if Jesus' birth is the reason for the season, why does she (the singer) throw in the Santa Claus myth into the mix???? Jesus is about truth, and Santa is about lies. Hmm, and honestly, it's a pagan holiday that was adopted by the Catholic church to win pagan "converts" to their version of Christianity. If it's about Jesus, how 'bout not shopping and instead get out and help a poor person, a homeless person, a widow, a sick or incarcerated person.
Yes don't go to any store that doesn't celebrate the season properly. I know I will be spending my money at store that promote the birth of the one true savior born on Dec. 25th.... MIthra. No wait its Oden. No its Horus. I Know it's Sir Isaac Newton. That's the one I was looking for. Have a happy Winterfest all.
PLEASE celebrate your own religion but don't change my Christmas in any way...nor that of my children and grandchildren, in school or anywhere else. This is not about racism, it's more about conformality. There is no harm in leaving Christmas as it is for anyone so why try and make it something it is not?
Yeah merry Christmas consumers. The meaning of Christmas , Christ's Birthday. The time of year a pagan festival hijacked by the church. Today just a lot of stress, worry and credit card bills for January. Just stay out of the stores and celebrate with your family .
Here's an idea...stay out of the stores even if they DO say Merry Christmas on the window? A lot of people who don't believe in Christmas are happy enough to say Merry Christmas just to sell you junk.
This country was founded on freedom FROM religion. Even though I happen to be a Christian, I feel very blessed that I have many Jewish and Muslim friends. There is no place for bigotry at Christmas!!!
You contradict yourself when you decide to walk away from a store if they don't celebrate the same things you do and yet your holiday wishes them peace and love and joy -- are you just keeping the prosperity for yourself?? And btw you can't sell the reason for the season. Maybe you should do some more research into 'your christmas'.

Why do you think it is called CHRISTmas? It is a celebration of the birth of Christ, not a SELL-a-bration!
If you people cannot understand that simple fact, and deal with it as a civilized adult, I fell very sorry for you!

And you people are worried about Islam taking over the world? Good grief.
The Tilt of Earth's axis is the Reason for the Season.
Yes, Jesus wants you to max out your credit cards.

whatgoesaround696 2 months ago
@whatgoesaround696 I disagree. The ugly, lonely, perpetually miserable liberal atheists HATE Christmas, and they very much want to see us no longer celebrate it. They HATE holiday cheer, they HATE to see others happy, and most of all, they HATE people of faith. Too bad for them, because Christmas is here to stay. I am fed up to the teeth with wishy-washy Christians as well who constantly seek approval from the Left.
Weasler455 2 months ago
Weasler455, I AM VERY CONSERVATIVE and completely disagree with the liberal left. However, I am also very Christian and can see HATE in a lot of the words used to defend our faith and our liberties (Even your words). We need to figure out a way to do it without the anger and the hate. Zeroing in on stores that may or may not have any intended anti-Christmas intentions is just flat wrong, What control does the store owner have over those workers who may not wish a Merry Christmas?
whatgoesaround696 2 months ago
@whatgoesaround696 What can the owner do? HE CAN FIRE THEM! Just as he would any other employee who is disrespectful to a customer. But the issue here has more to do with store signs and displays than with words are said.
Sorry, but you are NOT "very conservative". You're misguided at best - more likely a phony. Why do WE "need to figure out a way to do" things without anger? Let the goddamn Left worry about that! You are mistaking my anger for hate - not that I care.
Weasler455 2 months ago
@Weasler455 Oh, now I understand . . . I really am not arguing with a fellow conservative. I am arguing with someone who "thinks" they are a Christian. Never mind . . . You will never understand what I am saying . . .
7 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
whatgoesaround696 2 months ago
@whatgoesaround696 Don't call me a "fellow conservative". You are not fooling ANYONE. You're just another lying liberal who won't admit to who he/she is. I've seen it hundreds of times.
PS: Don't even THINK of quoting the Bible to me. It also condemns liars and lying - worry about that part yourself.
Weasler455 2 months ago
@Weasler455 YOU are guessing that I am a liar. I, and everyone else KNOWS for sure that you take God's name in vain. The fact is that I am a Conservative, Christian. I have NEVER voted for a Democrap. I have also served as a missionary(for many years) without pay. I have NEVER taken the Lord's name in vain and I have NEVER lied, or broken any of the other 10 commandments. Now, will let those who read this blog be the judge of who is telling the truth and who is the true Christian.
whatgoesaround696 2 months ago
@whatgoesaround696 . No true Christian would EVER even suggest that he never lied, had taken the Lord's name in vain, or broken any of the other 10 commandments. Read Romans 3.
Nice try, liberal. You people are really sick. I'm SO glad I am not one of you.
Weasler455 2 months ago
@whatgoesaround696 It's because of supposed "Christians" like you who refuse to stand up for your faith, worrying all time that we might be offending someone by practicing our faith, that we have the problems we do with atheists. We greatly outnumber them, therefore, we should show them who is BOSS. What did Christ do when he saw people disrespecting the temple by using it as a market? Did he sit and ponder "How can I reach these people without upseting them?". Guess again.
Weasler455 2 months ago
@Weasler455. I think most likely that YOU are the "supposed" Christian. Christians who believe that we should hate our enemies and treat them like they treat us are not reading the Bible very carefully. Don't get me wrong; I am for standing up for my beliefs and for the Gospel, much like Christ did when he drove the money changers out of the temple, but there is a distinction between "firm" and "hate" We can be firm and we can stand firm, but we are on the wrong side of Christ if we hate.
whatgoesaround696 2 months ago
@whatgoesaround696 And how exactly are you being "firm" in your faith? You can't even be firm enough to say Merry Christmas! Not sure where I advocated "hate", having once been a misguided liberal myself when I was younger and dumber, I can tell you that he Leftists who say "Love, love, love" are far more hateful and intolerant than anyone I have ever seen on the right. That's right - ANYONE. One day you might open your eyes and you'll see that as well for yourself.
Weasler455 2 months ago
I had to laugh when I checked this one (an email from an aquaintance). What a joke. I added a few stanzas of my own....as where driving to go shopping for Christmas, let's cut some people off the road,. And all the while while we're driving lets sing in our self righteous mode. And when we fight for a parking space and get one right by the door, we'll thank Jesus by buying a bible made in China by little children.

I don't recall Jesus every behaving that way, and I have come to expect better from his followers (though Richard Dawkins' hate mail suggests that my expectations are quite unreasonable.)

Starpass 2 months ago
@Starpass Correct, we don't know what day Christ was truly born. So we selected 12/25 a long time ago. And we celebrate that by saying Merry Christmas. Don't like that? Move to Iran and tell the Mudslimes all that is wrong with Islam. Lots of luck.
Weasler455 2 months ago
@Weasler455 and what is your point exactly? I do the Christmas thing; gifts for the kids and fun with the family. The Catholic church is a false church. They hold secrets about Jesus that we are not allowed to know; things that would raise us up and be born again. Being raised up; or those who can 'overcome' this world and raise ones consciousness above it are truly born again. We both know we will never change a Muslim's mind. To be slain in the spirit is proof or Christ.

@harrill7 What does it say in the Bible about saying someone is a 'fool'? Yeah; repent my friend; repent.
Starpass 2 months ago
@Starpass You are talking about Matt 5:22. The word "fool" in English is different than the Greek word used to write the New Testament. Fool means "one with a lack of judgement" in the English language. In the Greek more a judgement or attack on intelligence as a whole. Jesus used murder in His explanation in these verses. You have to agree these that have chosen atheism have not used good judgement seeing as what is at stake by this decision. Sorry for any confusion though.

Freemasonry and Christanity are not the same, and do not have the same payoff.
harrill7 2 months ago
@harrill7 Who said Masonry and Christanity are the same? Of course they aren't! You make the same mistake all fundamentalist critics of Masonry make. It is NOT a religion or a substitute for religion. IT IS A FRATERNAL ORDER that requires members to be believers - PERIOD.

LoisJD 2 months ago
The Treaty of Tripoli, ratified in 1797, included a clause stating, "...the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion...". Realize that it's part of a much larger text, but the clause is there, submitted by then-President John Adams.
Just some undeniable history to consider.
ptak1sm 2 months ago
@ptak1sm And out of every other document leading up to the founding of this nation and in developing the Declaration and Constitution - all of which at least make reference to God - you want to focus on a single treaty as proof this country was not founded based upon Christian philosphophy? Not entirely intelligent.
gregorbakhar 2 months ago
@gregorbakhar Look, you want to attack my intelligence, fine. That's your prerogative. All I was trying to do was bring some historical fact into this discussion instead of religiously/politically based diatribes.
As I'm sure you're well aware, it takes more than talking about God to make one Christian. Being Christian involves a change in lifestyle, a change in attitude.
If all men are created equal, doesn't that include...all men? Regardless of religious affiliation?
Darn historical context

I agree with those of you who have recognized the anti-Christian attitudes in this song. Along with that, is the focus on commercialism, something that we should be attempting to limit in our celebrations. I am a Christian and I say 'Merry Christmas'. Others can say whatever they want! something different. It's kind of sad knowing that people feel the need to write such a song!

I'm a fervent follower of Jesus, but I don't like the message of this song. Jesus wouldn't "walk right out the door," he would walk in and love those whose businesses don't say merry christmas in the window. Sure, encourage other Christians to happily greet one another with "Merry Christmas" on their lips, but don't make Christmas yet another reason to divide us from those that Jesus would have us befriend.
contact9k 2 months ago 2
Christians don't have a monopoly on this season.

I don't recognize xmas nor do I recognize religious fundies, therefore anything you say is nullified and instantly irrelevant to anyone.
If I've been "blessed" with anything, why the fuck would I want to give it away, just so some worthless nobody can enjoy what's rightfully mine?
I don't think so fucktard.

@pidge5708 Yeah, other peoples religious values. Those religious values that want to kill all non believers, i.e. Jews and Christians.

I like the song and its lyrics, but i strongly dislike the use of the acronym ACLU !!!, Especially considering that it is the original ACLU that is having Christmas and all references to christianity removed from America.

Happy New Year. Oh, you say it is not New Year's today. AHHH THE WAR ON NEW YEARS
I'm writing a book about this outrage to stop the hippies who don't like to hear Happy New Year all year long the way it was meant to be.

Hey, we Christians are very protective of the pagan holiday we stole and then whored out to big business. How dare you try to secularize our celebration of consumerism.
auret 2 months ago 19
@auret
We stole????????
Buying gifts in itself is not bad, but the reason for the celebration should not be forgotten. The enemy of Christians want to make diversions, want to take Christ out of the picture, and our lives..
I say keep Christ's conception as a light to the world!
LoisJD 2 months ago
@LoisJD The problem here is how you treat your perceived enemies. I respectfully remind you that Jesus said, "Love your enemies" (Matthew 5:44).
raydrienne 2 months ago
@raydrienne
LoisJD 2 months ago
@LoisJD I agree, being Christian doesn't mean being stupid. It means turning the other cheek. "But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also." (Matthew 5:39)

@auret Christians stole Christmas? Another fine comment from a left wing educated "I hate America" goon. Well.....Merry Christmas anyway!
308winsniper 2 months ago

So many Christian haters here! Shame, Shame on all of you! You want the Christian holiday, Christmas, but you celebrate it as pagans. Then are angry if the real meaning comes out!
"Bless them, Father, for they know not what they do."
Talking about YOU!

What about all the other times of the year? Do you shop in those boycotted stores then?? What if they say Merry Christmas, but sell items intended for different religions, according to how different religions recognize Christmas, Yule, or whatever they call *their* holiday? Just some thoughts.. Happy Festivus (from a believer in Christ but not a believer in Christ-mass)!!
soulflower1970 2 months ago

There is no harm in leaving Christmas as it is for anyone so why try and make it something it is not?
healthyideas4me 2 months ago
Yeah merry Christmas consumers. The meaning of Christmas , Christ's Birthday. The time of year a pagan festival hijacked by the church. Today just a lot of stress, worry and credit card bills for January. Just stay out of the stores and celebrate with your family .
BecciH1 2 months ago
Here's an idea...stay out of the stores even if they DO say Merry Christmas on the window? A lot of people who don't believe in Christmas are happy enough to say Merry Christmas just to sell you junk.
Consumerism is not the reason for the season.
Merry Christmas!

This country was founded on freedom FROM religion. Even though I happen to be a Christian, I feel very blessed that I have many Jewish and Muslim friends. There is no place for bigotry at Christmas!!!
wtb1949 2 months ago
You contradict yourself when you decide to walk away from a store if they don't celebrate the same things you do and yet your holiday wishes them peace and love and joy -- are you just keeping the prosperity for yourself?? And btw you can't sell the reason for the season. Maybe you should do some more research into 'your christmas'.
