  • That "thing" is a nice thing! C'est Bon!!

  • Can just tell that dude playing is a knob.....

  • @Heyomattyo - Did ya ever hear the expression, it takes one to know one? Well, it fits you perfectly.

  • The closest to this one I can afford is a Yamaha FG700S, hahaha. Send me one for my birthday, I'll send you chocolates.

  • Your playing is lovely and your tone huge, through your D-35. Thanks for posting; enjoyed it.

  • I have a 1973 D-35 that one day developed cracks in the three pieces... so I sent it back to Martin and they stretched and sealed it, but it changed... it went from sounding like yours, to a cross over to a D-28! I now like the slightly brighter and more flared sound better than the original 'perfect'. Acoustic wood instruments are like that, they change... give yours time, you'll see.

  • great sound and real nice playing!

  • @STRATOENR1976 That mic he is using is an Audio Technica AT2020

  • @sircam6

you may be right but it can also be an OKTAVA MK-319.....

  • C'est tres fomidable! This is some great playing!

  • Holy crap, I need to practice.

  • i got an old wind sock. i play it all the time. also play the spoons.

  • Oh man. Beautiful tone. Nice playing too. C'est Shooooooet. Keep it up mon amie.

  • Awesome playing. That guitar sounds REALLY good in your hands. I love your style!

  • Pretty nice sounding guitar that D-35 is, and it looks and sounds like you know your way around that instrument. Nice playing, very smooth. Great post , keep it coming.

  • VERY nice! =)

  • Position that mike about one foot from the 12th fret pointing towards the soundhole and record... you will hear a difference.

  • @bluegrasssingingman

Are you serious? It is just the angle he is holding it at which prevents you seeing the other brace. When he leans it down a bit at 3:35 you can see the lower brace for a moment.

  • @wallunder1000 maybe so

  • is this a new one? from 2008?

  • Cool little jam at 1:30. NICE geetar my friend!

  • Last week I played a D-35 in my local music store its a fantastic Instrument, I have to save money to get one XD

  • This is the next guitar I want, well a d-35 or a d12 28!! But I love the three piece back, even tough you don't see the back all that much when you play, but I love the sound it has, I currently own a d-16 GT and for 1400 its an amazing guitar too, I"m just trying to find strings that best suit it. I really want to try D'addario exps or j17, i'm using Jon Pearse right now

  • on their web sight on the d35 d28 their hd28 and hd 35 it said select hardwood, so it no doubt is Spanish Cedar wood

  • Nice playing dude!

  • Johnny Cash Guitar

  • picking is fine; great guitar, bravo greatings from salzburg leo

  • Hi your playing is so fine and touching..

If you want to check how your guitar will mature with years check out my little demo on my ex d35 1973.

  • Martin Guitars are the finest Instruments i`ve ever heardm brilliant and natural powerful, loud tones...

I want to buy a Martin Guitar too... But the choice is now a D-28 or a D-35, which differnts are there???

  • D-35 has a 3 piece back, d-28 a 2 piece. virtually identical. HD versions signicicantly more tone, more folk than bluesy in my opinion.

  • I have a D35 Martin for 28 years! Never let it go, play it hard! The harder you play, the better it will sound. Not playing it is the worst thing you can do.

  • Wow 28 years?! You should put up videos of you playing it, especially if you fingerpick. I would love to hear the sound of that guitar, plus listen to you play, if you've been playing for so long.

  • Sounds fantastic! Great guitar but even better playing.

  • 5 stars man...bravo!!!

  • this is the best sound clip i have heard yet of the d35 sound..i am curious to know what strings are on it or what age..i prefer old strings that are not too zingy and let the wood do the talking.can you buy new strings that sound like dirty?

  • great, but expensice as hell..

  • Martin d 35, great guitar

  • GREAT STUFF - i love your tuning - am gonna rip it off and learn that style. :) i use some tunings - but not that one. thanks very much.

  • new D-35 neck it's a select hardwood,not mahogany,it's spanish cedar.

    2006 d-35

  • what good sounding guitars are like this in mahogany?

  • Is it true that the Martin D35 is now being made with a Spanish Cedar wood neck as opposed to mahagony? If the answer is yes, what year did Martin start doing this?

  • new necks are solid mahogany

  • Well, yesterday, I received a reply via email from the Martin Company. They say that since 2005, necks on the D35 are Spanish Cedar wood! How old is your D35?

  • Good stuff! You sound good!

  • hi,great job man,very nice test and sound,we have a great guitar's!Have a nice evening,salut

  • please give the tuning info for 3:00 ish.

  • Nice full-sounding jumbo

  • hate to be a jerk, but I can't resist...

    Not a jumbo. standard dreadnought.
