ran this trail in a stock mazda b2600 with 32inch tires no body damage but alot of frame rubin..lol..at2:27 that tree almost claimed my door..lol nice vid
Can you accomplish the same look and performance with lets say a 3-4inch lift and 33inch tires, what size rims are on those 35's what kind of shocks did you install? i see its been ten months since anyone has posted questions regarding your awesome rig is it still holding up? any techincal difficulties? Thanks!
Awsome Vid...Im new to offroading and I got a quick question on the 6" lift and the 35's how is it on the hwy?? Like speeds around 70mph, comfort, etc. Thanks for the help.
You need to drop the gearing on the FJC in order to successfully add the 35' tires and not get swallowed up on the freeway. Also you don't want to crush your transmission. It rides great! Tires are a tiny noisy compared to stock but it can easily do 70mph no problem at all. I dropped my gearing to 4.56
Be prepared to put at least 10 to 15K in whatever you buy to make it worthy of a trail like this. Honestly, you are probably better off buying an older Jeep Rubicon or Toyota Land Cruiser or Pickup. You will spend tons less. I am a Toyota fanatic and love them for reliability. The FJ comes with Independent Front Suspension and the Jeep Rubicon Wrangler comes with a Solid Axel which probably gives it a slight advantage out of the box over the FJ. Both are exceptional vehicles.
If you don't mind me askin', what lift kit did you install? How's it workin' out for you? I'm doing a little research before I jump on a kit for my fj. As for now I'm thinkin' 'bout the ome lift. Thanks and your video's tight bro.
My only concern with a 6 inch lift is the cv joints and boots going out all the time. I had that problem with my last rig. Did you have too install hubs or are your cv joints sittin' ok?
I have had no problems at all. I have about 20K miles on the vehicle post lift. I had to do a little welding in the wheel well and have half inch spacers but it sits great! I also dropped the gearing to 456. I love it!
What I'm sayin is that I actually wanted to keep the voice in the background! I was able to make it quiet and make the music louder. I can totally phase out the voice if I wanted to.
I have so much money in this thing...I honestly don't remember the lift kit price. Just google procomp 6inch lift and download the pdf on the kit and pricing is available. I got the upgraded of the two options. If you are going to tun 35's...I highly recommend re-gearing or you are going to kill your tranny.
