  • Not as good as the stuff in the Mindreading Exposed ebook

  • The easiest way to make an accurate "prediction" is make it after the event has already taken place. "Oh, yeah, I knew that was going to happen." The bit about Camelot's legal right "to announce the winning lottery numbers first" is pure bs. A prediction is never an "announcement" by definition it's only a speculation. So he's only buying time to switch the balls using split screens and giving a rationale why he can't show you beforehand his "prediction."

  • Comment removed

  • lol really lonely anyone up for cam chat or phone

  • The camera shake is clearly intentional and unnecessary. It can only be there to give the illusion that the film could not possibly be tampered with. Otherwise, why not just use a damn tripod? The "shake" is probably done with software, so as to still be able to perform the split screen tricks.

This is also supported by the fact that the balls are painfully far away from any sort of action that would reveal the camera trick if he should step in front.

  • Totally staged...how can he expect anyone to believe that

  • If you want to prove it, why wouldnt you buy the lottery ticket with the winning numbers on it? Cashing in the ticket would kinda prove it.

  • The lottery numbers BBC announces: 23 35 11 28 39 02. English people are so stupid.

  • And above all of it: The stringency, that he doesn't know any of the numbers even after they were drawn, is? Have a guess! Note, how much he must keep an eye on the screen to write down, what he allegedly has had to have in mind already for any prediction. Doesn't he know the numbers before? Why he needs to watch than, what he allegedly knew already before? Did he forget his own predicted numbers, while he was watching the real draw? Just a further attempt of a quite nice but common illusion ;-)

  • And keep an eye of slightly moves of the camera. What's that? A steadicam? No. Even a steadicam wouldn't move that way. It's just to create the illusion of a life-documentary (24-like and so on). The camera operator intendedly moves his cam. To create an illusion. But what for and which one? I guess, they did it with split-screen-techniques to jump up and put the right balls there, while he gets rooted to the spot and stops talking till the end of drawing, not to get synchronize-issues later.

  • And why he can't at least promptly write down every number with any comment? Why he needs to keep still till the end of the drawing? Evidently, they did need something like a freezed image of all that they had prepared before, while the tv-panel can easily proceed with the show by blue-blox-techniques (like in news-broadcasting- or weather-forecast-shows) to pretend: "It's absolutely live!" Why he needs to lay such emphasis on a (pretended) fact, if all would be live indeed? It's also just NLP.

  • If the BBC has the legal right to announce the numbers first, why he is allowed to broadcast that announcement life as well, but not an only prediction? That programms your mind, that his (only predicted!) numbers are as good and as sure as the drawing by the BBC itself. But it ain't. It's indded just a prediction, a guess, and not an announcement. So where were the legal issus, who could demur? And why he didn't broadcast the fully telecast, when the tv-panel lacks 10 seconds to turn on?

  • They create only illusions people would like to believe in, what peple would love to would have the power for once - or to believe, that at least someone different could have such power. As Copperfield can not fly Brown can not predict Lottonumbers. They always just distract your full attention from the important points, not to see through the trick. He can't announce his prediction before Camelot announce the numbers 'cause it is supposed to be illegal? Bullshit. He can't cause he can not.

  • And where is or what of it is his prediction now? To show someone something after an event like the announcement of Lottonumbers is not a prediction - as prefix "pre" means (it ain't called post-). It' s just the same illusion of a prediction as everybody else, who claimed to be able to predict something, did before. No one of them ever announced their predictions prior the event, that they pretended to be able to predict. Always after. Isn't it an odd thing? So why he didn't win the lottery?

  • amazing!

  • you can do it on ashproductionsDOTnet, 70% of LUCK

  • so whers the vid of him showing how he did it

  • He stops at at 6:12 (14) and then start to walk again .... He was probably afraid that they had not removed the split screen

  • Comment removed

  • derren even sorry :P

  • hes good, atleast hes not pretending hes some magician with special powers, and on some part i like that he explains how he does them, but on the other hand he shouldnt do it, because sooner or later some smartass comes around and strikes with his honor because he studied dereks tricks for years :P

  • A brilliant trick, just wished he had not of ruined the entire thing with his "deep maths" bullshit in the later show.

You have the rights to your secrets Brown, just don't pee on me and tell me it's raining.

  • is there really someone who thinks he predicted those numbers? It's a illusion, a hell of an illusion, but it's FAKE.

  • This is explained beautifully in Captain Disillusion's channel. Check it out.

  • And for numbers he's spent weeks generating, he seemed awfully in need of that white board to remember them.

  • @BigJohnWoody That was for the audience's benefit

  • this trick is dumb the only way to say this is real is to bet the winning numbers and claim it!!!! but i bet he wouldnt do it!!! LAME

  • Laser beams can be invisible, and lasers create heat at the point they strike an object. Laser printers are already popular. Perhaps Brown's ping pong balls were coated with a heat-sensitive material that turned black where heated. Now all he has to do is to make a long-distance laser printer to print the numbers on the balls between the time the numbers are announced and the time Brown rolls the balls over.

  • Do you think laser printers use lasers? Really? That's funny..

This trick was done with mechanized cameras and split screen. Not too tough really.

  • u saw the debunking...at least tell the guy that's what u did

  • I have seen one debunker with the same explanation which I gave. Seems logical. But if this guy thinks laser printers use laser I suspect he's not really going to care. Probably not to sharp to start with.

I don't think the guy cares what "I did." This isn't a school report and I don't include a bibliography. Do you think I should? BTW, what do people only write harsh criticisms on your channel? Do you just harass people all day? That's kinda sad really. Why do you do that?

  • when people dont site where they found out about the trick, it isnt very honest, so i'm just saying

  • aite the 2 racist ones i was just making a joke LoL they were saying black people were the better race LOL

and the other bad comment is a creationist who really ddint like what i had to say, so BAM

  • Well I can see how people can misunderstand a joke. I've probably offended people with some of the jokes on my show because they don't really get it, but that's to be expected sometimes.

I'd have to disagree with you though on citing things on YouTube. It's not a school report. Should I cite things I've read in the news? Do you cite your sources when arguing for evolution? Technically, almost everything I know is from someone else. I never claimed to come up with this theory on my own.

  • You may not mean to be offensive to people but I think you may be perceived that way. When everyone reacts to you in a negative way the only reason for that could be 1) it's a conspiracy or 2) you are perceived as an offensive person. If that's not your intent you might consider what you're going for in your posts and evaluate if your correct approach is what you really want. If you're just trolling for a reaction then that's cool too. But I get the impression that that's not what you really want

  • well i did troll about the racist thing, but when it comes to creationists insisting they're right...that's when i gots a problem

  • Why bother arguing with creationists? Do you believe there is any chance that you will change their views on science? If not, why bother? Does it serve some purpose or do you gain pleasure out of messing with people? Were they even upset or did they have a different point of view. I like discussing things with people who don't agree if it's civil, though often it degenerates to where one person calls the other a Nazi or a terrorist. No real point to all that.

  • Camera trick for sure ,why do you think there's no audience where he does his prediction.

Pretty obvious this would ruin his trick

  • @hybmu well he could just as easily pay a couple of people to act surprised like criss angel does.. but he says he explains how to do it so its probably legit.. obviously its just a trick n u cant win money out of it..

  • Mirrors.

  • i can do the same type of effect with the bruno noulet's "recession prediction system"

  • I picked the same numbers! my share came to £700000. Its alright for some isnt it! wehaaay!!!

  • @rokridge well done

  • if this is real he could have shwn the results before the actual numbers came up

  • he says at 1:39 why he didn't do that, he's not legally allowed...

  • and - of course - his trick would be ruined

  • sorry, i was mistaken, you ARE legally allowed to show a prediction... so it's nonsense anyway

  • He didn't use split screen. He infiltrated in the the storage facilities for the lottery balls and put in altered sets. He told us at the end at the explanation at the end pf the first "Event".

  • I still don't understand why the second camera man was all the way at the back of the theatre. What was the point of him??? Hmm...

  • sgdsuy i knew that you were going to say that.

  • OMFG IS IT YOU DERREN BROWN???!!!

  • You know, the split-screen theory still could be correct, as he TURNS THE TELEVISION OFF just before going to check the lottery numbers. And, there is NO AUDIENCE there to confide in family members about the wait while derren quickly painted on the numbers, and he uses various excuses to not show his prediction before it is announced.

    But it's still brilliant!

  • dayuuuuuuuuum hes a G

  • geez i still dont get it lol!

  • Its all fake theres no such thing as magic even david blane is fake but its just good how they do it

  • We all know magic is fake.

  • I am sorry to even ask, but what scientific method did you use to find that out? ;) Just wondering that you know something that cant be proved if it is or if it is not.

  • its camera tricks, he didn't really predict the lottery.

  • Comment removed

  • my understanding is that this was broadcasted live. isn't that true? if so, what camera tricks are you referring to?

  • its called a split screen. He wasn't really using a hand held camera, there were two cameras.

  • I used logic. Magic tricks are, by definition, tricking the audience. This is not rocket science and I know where you're heading with your esoteric question.

  • that is so cool

  • During the numbers being given out on screen, he has his hand over his mouth the whole time.

This is not something Derren usually does!

  • He doesnt normally do something infront of the nation and have the chance of making a fool of himself though

  • Its just faked. He didnt predict the numbers... predicting means saying them before hand... i know he wasnt allowed due to some reasons. I used to be a huge fan of his... but now I'm slowly not into his stuff as much!

  • the excuse he comes out with is bullsheet..camelot does have a legal right to announce the numbers, but you're allowed to announce a prediction, he is chatting out of his arse

  • I thought he was due to give an explanation himself? I remember when he did the seance he then explained how he faked that ..

  • no, you suck ass you dumbfuck

this is ALL ILLUSIONISM which equals FAKE, im not saying david blaine is a wizard for gods sake

  • look at the machine at the back of the rooom.

    Does it contain a LASER?

Why is it directly opposite the table tennis balls?

Also table tennis balls are very thin and a laser could easly etch the numbers on them.

Why use these balls in the first place.

  • for legal reasons .... hmmmm convenient

  • people...

its actually not impossible to predict the numbers as people have and won the lottery before...lol

derren brown is an illusionist and what he does is to trick people into think he can do impossible things...

and it seems to be working as so many of you seem hurt by the fact that he didnt buy a ticket...

Epic Win for derren brown id say

    hahahaha

  • I would agree completely with you there

  • look he didnt cheat, you think they would pick a random guy off the street, and put him on television just to cheat everyone? he is an illusionist

  • not a random guy off the street.

    been famous for yearsss

  • for fuck sake people, hes an illusionist! he never claims to have magic powers of any kind. He actually says everything he does is a trick!!! STOP TAKING IT SO SERIOUSLY!!!!

  • as much as i wanted to believe him, once you find out you feel like a fuckin mug, but after you're angry at him for "kind of" cheating you, idk i suppose that is his job right!!!

  • You guys are all morons. His trick wasn't predicting the lottery, because that's obviously impossible, his trick was convincing all the many idiots there are in Britian that he can. And it worked quite well.

  • Yip that in itself was the trick....by the way i can't confirm that it defo was a split screen cause we will never know BUT YOU LOOK AT THE ZOOMED IN STILL PICTURES OF THE BEFORE AND AFTER SHOTS OF DERRENS SIX BALLS ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE SCREEN at the start they are perfectly inline and attuned with one another BUT the after shot one of the balls is now a milimetre or two higher than the rest...how is that? The camera shakes when the screen is being adjusted...the balls were moved- S.S

  • Why didn't this fake fuckin twat just buy a ticket if he knew the numbers?

  • because channel banned him u prick

  • then why not get a mate to do it or something?. If he knew the numbers then nothing should be able to stop him.

  • nvm its obviously lost on you, he didn't do it for the money he did it to show he could... but like i said its obviously lost on you

  • So basically he's a attention seeking cunt thats got people like you fooled. It's lost on you, not me

  • he's an entertainer u tit why are you takin this so serious!

  • Comment removed

  • It annoys me, people wathed it and most probably to see him get it wrong! He got it right and your all so flippin self centred you cant accept it! He did it, he worked with people to do it, he didnt say it was magic did he!? he used his brains, he told us how he did it so just accept it! Flip sake! Dont like it then dont watch him!

Love you derren brown! Legend! (way better than stupid david blane!!)

  • love the fact u said 'Flip sake'

  • well gods not real so cant blame it on him :) and i dont wanna swear cause ima good girl and mummy always says be polite :)

  • he cheated. you really don't get it do you...

look at all the youtube videos on it. he used a split screen. he also failed to stick me to my seat during that silly subliminal message video and I didn't draw concentric circles. he fails. miserably. he only succeeds because they get retards to be part of his tricks.

  • this is really gay it took 20 fukiin people 2 win 1 lottery :S if it took 20 people to win the lottery and i was one of them i would not give even £10 to them

  • This was quite obviously set up. It is impossible to predict the lottery.

  • it was impossible to fly years ago

  • there was no audiece because the side of the balls were frozen and someone put them in?

  • so y didnt the douchebag buy a ticket

  • Can somebody help? I've won the National lottery, but I haven't been able to claim it due to being stuck to my chair for the past two weeks. THANKS A FUCKING MILLION DERREN!

  • Oh dear...magic doesnt exist idiots, its all down to slight of hand, illusions and misdirection. All of which derren brown is good at. He didnt use a split screen or some 'magic' lazer wrting device(which dont actually exist). Nobody will know how he did it. Maybe it was the maths theory, ut who knows.

  • watch?v=KODaHprTdxg

  • Go out, buy his book and read it. The guy is a genius at n.l.p and transferral techniques , yeah the lottery thing sucked but he is an extremely clever bloke and performs alot of his tricks to show people that all this phsycic, mind reading talking to the dead stuff is just bulls#$t. John Edward is the biggest douche in the universe

  • I can see the split-screen theory as quite plausible, but my question is how did they get 3 numbers on the FIRST automatic writing test and then 4 on the second with the other two numbers only slightly out?

  • derren brown really did predict the lottery he showed us how he did it

  • if you look good, you see Derren is standing with his had before his mouth at the moment the balls are coming. Its suggesting he names the numbers and has a system to write them on the balls if he names them.

  • Darren Brown is a FUCKEN ASSHOLE !

The only thing he is good is CHEATING and nothing else, not even magic haha

  • All magicians are "cheaters" so he's no different from the rest of them. You can't name even one person who is good at magic (Biblical bullshit doesn't count)

  • The first ball looks more like 52 than 2..

  • He must be billy no mates cos if i could do that then i am sure thered be plenty of rich people around..in my local pub..

  • wow.. pretty impressive stuff, did he reaLLY predict it then?

  • LMAO! ROFLLLL!!! HAHAHAHA!!

    ~

What does this have to do with Derren Brown?

  • Does anyone now if there were winners?

  • ye there was .. derren brown senior lol

  • racist

  • Ne, he doesn't, he actually repeatedly says that it's an experiment and that it won't work on everyone.

If you failed to notice that then I'm not surprised the subliminal effect didn't occur with you.

  • For Gods sake, after all this time some fucking retards are still trying to work out how he did it... LCD balss, fixing the machine, lottery already drawn, real prediction,..!

Geez what a bunch of twats.

It was a camera trick, you know..split screen...

Wake up and smell the coffee..deh

  • ^^ he's right...... all they would have done is cut and paste both sides of the screen together so that someone can literally walk on and write the numbers down (hence why he read out the numbers straight after. The same shot would have been taken be4 the lottery and the side of the screen with the cups with the numbers on the back was pasted onto the live showing.

The seat thing was s*** also........ be awesome if he was any good

  • Springy just to let you know his show was also at 8pm, I think it had to of been something to do with the balls eg: someone behind a desk types the numbers and sends it to the balls which are made so you can't see a screen or I have got it completly wrong and he truley got it!

  • why didn't he just buy a ticket too, that would prove it.

  • i cant believe you lot are a bunch of idiots. check lottery website, find when draw is made on a wednesday and it will say 8pm the bbc show is pre recorded to be shown at 10:35pm or after the news. check lottery ticket if you dont believe that. channel 4 may have been live but the draw wasnt so he had known for 2hrs and 35mins. you cant predict something that already happened. if he could he'd have bought a ticket but he cant after 7pm uk time. its a con, his aim is to keep you guessing.

  • actually the first thing anyone thinks is that its not live. thats why derren made a point to say "no its broadcast live to the second". i gues he just lied about that then...huh?

  • lol

    my Uncle knows Derren ^_^

  • Haha - Derren was SO lucky!

  • are you all idots! he did it after the fucking lottery was on

  • No you are a fucking idiot

  • Or, are you an idiot?

  • Minäkin uskon joulupukkiin

  • hmmmm... there is something weird about that lottery clip.... the usual people arnt there.

  • obviously ppl aint there cos it wasnt a proper live show.... it was just him showin ppl how he got all the lottery numbers correct

  • id been looking forward all week to getting stuck to the chair, but it didnt work for me :(

  • same.. -.-

  • i dont give a fuck, tonight i got stuck to my couch. It fucking happened

  • He showed us the lottery numbers after the lottery, thats not predicting the lottery thats just saying the numbers after the draw, I could do that :\

  • He's just a fuckin' con artist, thats all he is, a fucking knob-head!

  • derran brown is a fraud...... in my opinion...

  • He is a faggot.

  • FAKEE! PROPA FAKE!!

  • Um, he's supposed to be? Did you actually expect him to predict the numbers??

  • if he is psycic or whatever surely he would buy a ticket?

  • For the last fuckin time derren does not claim he is psyhic, he admits what he does are tricks.

  • They didn't let him buy a ticket =P

  • Camelot said they did not ban him from buying a ticket. He is a liar

  • Channel 4 said he could not buy a ticket, not Camelot.

  • Channel 4 said he could not buy a ticket, not Camelot.

  • he has never sed he was psycic or that he can do magic infact he hates psycics like he has always sed if u had listend he can read peoples action he can predict things not thru magic but by simply thinking throught things he is a genius ther is no y he can be a fraud or a fake it impossible to fake predict the lottery or fix it.

  • anyone doing the stuck to chair thing

  • yes i got stuck did you?

  • I didn't get properly stuck but my back felt reallly heavy!

  • i felt really hevey, and the bottom of my legs got stuck, then i told myself this is stupid and got up, people who WANT to belive they were going to get stuck get stuck, i really did want to get stuck, but i like to belieave that i have controle of myself

  • no...

  • loads of shit.. unles i sin it for myself then nah, good affects..

  • dark backround and floor so that any shadows wouldnt collide with the split screen shadows?

  • LightScribe? Came up with that in a moment. Produce those egg-shells from a material that reacts to a laser beam exposed to the surface, in way that it creates a color change. Not extensively difficult to make a robot that targets those eggs and writes the numbers on them in high resolution as they are being read on live tv. Anyway, I'm not saying that's how it was done. I'm only presenting one way to do it. You can see the plastic lining of the stand was below where the numbers started, so ...

  • I played that night and won. Unfortunately not the jackpot though. Check out my video. It's good

  • Electronic ink balls?

  • he says there's a special twist in the last events show, I think it'll be the real explanation.

and remember these are all about misdirection. he wants you all to think that it's a camera trick. I reckon he has you all where he wants you, he's a clever man.

  • OMG I think you're right.

  • this it real bullshit. in finland he couldnt ever do this.

  • This kinda proofs that you can't belive anything he has done in the past... bad choice man... you just lost your credibility

  • xD he obviously can't SHOW the numbers before..because he doesn't KNOW them before. How he does it - thats the show value of this kind of performance. I don't think that enyone here take it serious when magician split women in half. Why now?

  • look, stop being so silly. If this guy could guess the lottery don't you think he would of gave his family the numbers, OK maybe not, but someone has recently gave you the odds of winning and it is very improbable to guess them. This guys obviously gets in you head, He's a very smart guy and can mess with your head, But it dose not take a lot to do this kind of trick, one simple cut and change the balls but i personalty think BBC have allowed him a 25 second gap...seriously just think about it!

  • You honestly think the BBC changed the timing of their lottery draw just so he could change the numbers to match?

  • imagine if the numbers were actually wrong and he convinced everyone that they weren't haha

  • w/e ?

  • Comment removed

  • The odds are 13,983,815 to 1. Maybe he got lucky ;)

  • How is it obvious? live t.v cany fake that, it isnt impossible to get the right numbers from the lotto like.. Amazing!!

  • This is no news. There always can be a trick made in this time period. If the dude would say every number BEFORE they are selected in the lottery, then i would believe him but this is bullshit.

  • FFS, he can't show them before, watch the video and he explains. Or would you rather show them before and go jail for that?

  • I DID watch the vid, but this way there is a chance of cheating. I can't see how someone would go to jail for guessing lottery numbers before they show them officially? I doubt there is such law.

  • Its not a law that he can't say it, it is because the BBC has a license with Camelot to announce the numbers so it would be Channel 4 and the TV program makers that would be in trouble with the BBC for announcing before they did.

If it was live (not doubting it wasn't) then it wouldn't matter who was in the studio with him because you can't buy a lottery ticket that close to the draw happening.
