However, Lin Dan is just a tad better than everyone right now, because he has his unique weapon, power smash. Lin Dan is just more athletic.

About the grip question:

I'm sure he doesn't grip it all the way up where it is not needed to keep the racquet more head heavy. The more weight you add to the handle (by gripping) the more even balanced it becomes, if the racquet is already even balanced removing grip from the handle will make it slightly more head heavy whereas adding extra grip would make it more head light if it were even balanced to begin with.

He probably has his fore finger on the part with no grip only during the serve

If you hold the racquet from the bottom of the grip it'll give you an extremely lot of power. But really little control if you haven't practiced!

It depends on what kind of a player you are.. if you are the player that shoots down the smashes then go for the bottom grip! I bet you'll kill your opponent with your smashes. but if you are a control player go to the middle or the top of the grip.

I, myself stick with the middle cuz it's the mix of power and control

the reason that lcw moves slower than lin dan is, lcw wearing too much unnecessary weight in the game. look at lcws hand and wrist, two big rings and a very big watch, they do nothin good in a badminton game

You're an idiot. That's for comfort purposes, it doesn't slow him down, if it does at all, maybe 1/100 of a second. Lin Dan has the age factor over him, Lin Dan is just more physically fit and younger than Lee Chong Wei, not to mention better footwork and a longer stride.
