I was about 10 when I saw this. I never forgot it. It was so impressive. There is another Black and whit film from a documentary at that time which was even more impressive. Prudential or some other TV documentary show played it. I wish I could find it. Such graceful people.
Thank you very, very much for posting this scene! I have been searching for this,on Youtube, for a long time, hoping that somebody would share it! Finally! This is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the most captivating, mesmerizing, and stunning dance I have ever viewed. There is something regal and elegant in every movement. And the Watusi, because of their stature, are most impressive. This is one of my favorite movies, far surpassing the much earlier version, and the much later rendition.
I've loved this dance scene since I was a kid. Butera was a splendid dancer! I've read that he was 7'5" tall and weighed 300 lbs. The whole scene is gorgeous. Beautiful sky, Earth, and people.
Thanks for share.

This is SO elegant. Maybe I'm a racist, but the Watusi, when they are dancing seem like a superior strain of humanity.

The tall dancer in the front is just out of this world. He has the "ultimate peacock strut".
