i was watching this scene just now, and stopped right after SPEED got killed, i knew i need a special moment to continue the rest of the dvd.... cos SPEED die like no other series charactor die, he was like an usual working class guy, good in what he does, and die without much to say... that is so real... gosh... I really think that Horatio was texting Wolfe; the CBS Behind the Scenes video has David Caruso saying Horatio "is staging an event that will free him to go after this guy [Saris] with a different license." Someone on H's team had to know, and I bet he chose Wolfe. We can't forget, also, that the Feds made it look like H's brother died too. Personally, my bets are on Kyle actually being the trigger-man, he and Horation planned it.

I may have missed what Horatio was doing just before he got shot, but it looked like he was messing with his phone. Is it possible he was trying to pull something over on Saris and was sending Wolfe a text to confirm it, and getting shot was a part of some scheme, or at least an eventuality he prepared for? Normally that sounds outlandish, but this IS CSI: Miami, so anything is possible. Remember how Delko looked after getting shot? Pretty dead. Caine was the same way, at least in my mind.

No, they were best friends. Tim Speedle had seniority over Eric Delko and he practically honed his younger friend's skills in the division. The actor who played Speed wanted out of his contract so they killed him off. I bet he's regretting the decision now since the show is such a hit. But I'm not upset since Jonathan Togo as Ryan Wolfe is such a good actor not to mention glorious eye candy :).

It's gonna seem bitchy of me but I think this scene could have been scripted better. If you're a trained cop and your firearm doesn't fire AND PEOPLE ARE SHOOTING AT YOU, WHY WOULD YOU STAND IN THE CROSSFIRE AND STARE AT YOUR WEAPON?!

Other than that, I was so sad that Speedle died. Not that Wolfe is bad (he's hotter IMO), but Speed offered a sense of "dry" humor to the show that the other characters didn't. :[
