I had real good results with Windows 7. Granted I'm using eeebuntu at the moment b/c I don't want to mess w/virus protection, but if you want to use Windows, I'd go for 7. Runs better than XP and Vista on the Asus 1000HA.

hi, I'm thinking of buying this netbook. I just wanted to ask did you upgrade your RAM to 2gig when you installed Vista? If not, do you experience any lagging when you use 3 or more apps all at the same time? One more have tried using Ubuntu on your 1000H? TIA!:)

I didn't install ubuntu on asus, search on web, i believe you can find something

we do not have postitive tiny Netbook as of this Date lol, I like to play game and dont come back we the 9300m in tiny little Netbook..Try 4 hours on Asus best Netbooks with 6 Cell...

look, if you want a pc from "road" to check your mail, run spss, office, internet etc the netbooks is the best for this job. On my home, i have a quad core pc with 4 gb and one 4870 1GB with 24" monitor to play all the games!

P.S : 5 hours and 10 minute my battery with brightness 70% and the cpu to auto - save power. (wifi on, bluetooth off) :p :p

Question here, was wondering how you got the FN + F10/F11/F12 (volume keys) to work. From what I have read is that its a known issue when installing vista. I have the 80gb version of the 1000h and have vista installed, and it works great but its only the fn + volume keys that seem not to work. Please let me know if you know of any fixes for it or if it just worked for you.

Firstly i install all drivers and utilities from asus support and download page and then i install the acpi fix. So, all FN buttons work properly

Just some questions...How much space do you have on the Hard Drive after installed the Vista? And are the keys that controls the Performance and the Resolution working? I want to buy a 1000H and I'm thinking if I'll install Vista or leave it with the XP.

i have the version with 160Gb with two partitions (80 gb each)

I install Vista on D: The folder d:\windows is 11.7 GB (i didn't make custom iso with vlite) Is full install of Windows Vista with all servises and application ON)

The button from "Performance control" work properly but the resolution control work only the 800*600 and 1200*600 function)

I advise you keep and XP (dualboot)
