The Muggas an alright hook but there's better hook patterns for the zig but it is a Gardener tackle promo, the Guru QM1 is better for zig fishing check them out when you see the shape of these hooks you will understand, the Guru QM1 the ultimate zig hook.
Another nice one is the running zig rig, its simple just add an inline style pike float (the oval types), small ish. a 3-4 foot hook length, add a tiny ring clip on the end of the hook length so the oval float is actually running and isnt plugged with a swivvel. On the other side of the float (the lead side) have a 4 mm beadand a running lead. This style is for use on waters greater than 2 foot etc and can be used in any depth. Unlike the one shown here unless you can cast 20 foot hook lengths.
Using the lightest lead you can get away with is good but for me its only because of tangle properties and the fact is makes less of a noise when casting into the water. Id suggest using a lead clip very lightly so you actually lose the lead on the take and are playing the fish with no lead on at all. You could use an inline drop off system but lead clips really the way . I dont like playing fish with the lead still on as its hard work and could damage them to. Try and dump the lead on takes.
