That was a bit too much of the stall warning for my liking, and no, I'm not talking about when you were 5 feet over the runway. Climb out and the turn to final. Yikes.
i have a question..how do you guys manage to taxi the baron? every time i sit on the cockpit i cant see anything but instruments, the cockpit is too high that i can't see the taxiway centerline..
I hope the stall warning needed resetting/recalibrating in this video as to have it sounding after takeoff and again on approach would certainly be getting my attention, or its very slopping flying.
I have never heard of a "Low Thrust Detection Setting" on a piston powered aircraft, only a torque sensor on turboprops. Perhaps an option on the P58 which I suspect this aircraft is.
I disagree. The LTDS goes off as he accelerates down the runway which means it senses a difference in thrust between the two engines. His stall horn goes as he lifts off the runway and is a totally different sound. I have the LTDS system on my Baron.
@JVanceCPA Just watched the clip again and I can hear the difference in the tones. However, there should be no stall warning after lift off unless it was gusty winds which it does not appear to be nor should there be low thrust at that stage. It makes me wonder if both systems needed resetting.
I don't think so since it starts as he accelerates down the runway. That has to be his LTDS going off. I have one on my Baron. Stall horns go off once the AOA is more than the airspeed resulting in a possible stall of the wing.
The sound of those blades when he powers up is one of the coolest! I must wonder if your stall horn needs to be adjusted or is that the norm during takeoffs and landings?
at landing it looks like it was functioning normally-i wonder if when he took off it was hot, he was heavy, and lots of fuel. it also looked like he was having trouble gaining altitude in relation to his angle of attack at climb out. just my theories.
Great video... I've flown there a couple of times in an arrow from the south bay towards and over Meeks Bay. What was your altitude flying over highway 50 into South Lake Tahoe?

@mr3856a He used to fly this on shorter runways, hence lower speed.

Beautiful footage going in to Lake Tahoe.
Looks like maybe he got a little low on final as I can tell he has to advance the throttles quite a bit. Nice video though.

That must be a pretty old plane huh? With the "wood" panel? Late 70's or early 80's?

is it normal to have stall warner on take off and landing? or is that just sloppy flying?

@mimatimas
its fine to have the stall warning on landing, but I'm not sure about takeoff.

The beeping sounds like the low thrust detection system going off!!

@JVanceCPA ..its called the stall horn..means the wing is about done flying....he did a good recovery.

This is one of the better videos that I have seen in flying a Baron, real sound and the cammera moves all around showing plenty of details, good job
