It was a clean hit, i sorta agree with the penalty but its not a dirty hit, like they said we see it every day in every game. the end result is the player head hit the glass because he didnt see the hit coming, if you honestly think this is dirty then quit watching hockey cuzyou cry babies took away hard hitting in football dont take it from hockey. It sucks what the result was but its part of the game.

The guy is not faking it but he is a victim of circumstance. James Neal is not a dirty player. He went in fast and hit 2 players hard. One crumpled to the ice. Unfortunately, that's part of hockey. Hockey refs today will penalize a guy if another guy gets hurt. That's BS. The NHL needs to decide if it's a rough and tumble sport or a finesse sport. If it's finesse, then they need to ban fighting and get on with playing hockey like the rest of the hockey world. .

This is ludicrous. James Neal is not a dirty player. Dorsett was a victim of circumstance. No one likes to see a guy get knocked out but this was just a hockey hit. Neal was singled out because the refs had let the game get out of control at this point (2 fights within seconds). This was their way of calming things down - a major penalty along with a game miscondut. He never left his feet, he just hit 2 guys simultaneously hard against the boards and one guy went down.

at 24 seconds you can easily see that his feet were on the ice... don't know if your watching a different video. Wasn't a hard hit. Feet on ice. Not a high hit. Only reason it was called the way it was is because he got hurt by it. Horrible call, i've seen so much worse that wasn't called a penalty at all.

Earlier in the game, Dorsett wanted to fight Neal, Neal backed away and Dorsett fought Daley.

Later, moving on to this hit, Neal saw an opportunity to hit Dorsett, He skated in with pretty decent speed, and hit him high, Boom, Head hits boards. I don't think it was intentional, But the correct call was made by the NHL and the officials.

And btw we scored 2 times on that 5 minute PP.

People need to quit throwing Neil under the bus because he is not a dirty player. Like what was said before, Neal is a skill player and doesn't engage fights. He's had no prior incidents to warrant such a long suspension. If it were Ott, yes, I could see 5+ games, but only hope 2-3 for Neal. And why should Neal fight if he doesn't want to? Another thing: James Neal, as well as being a big guy, is a skill player for Dallas. Apparently Dorsett challenged him earlier in the game. Correct me if I'm wrong but Dorsett is NOT a skill player. He averages 11:00 a night. It's probably his job to get Neal off his game and it is certainly not Neal's job to go fighting the likes of Dorsett. So, it has nothing to do with Neal ducking Dorsett's challenge. Only undisciplined players answer the call of the other team's agitator.

Dorsett was clearly concussed, and I don't think there's any way to argue this was anything less than a dirty hit. As has been said before, Dorsett offered to fight Neal earlier in the game and Neal backed out and waited for another teammate to fight for him. Neal clearly sized Dorsett up for the hit and went high. Foolish play and he should be suspended, no bones about it.
