  • I meant that in a good way btw

  • His shredding is so sick to camera threw up, thats what happened to the camera at towards the end

  • 1:10 sick!!!!! blows my head

  • Actually I think this is Moody Music..

  • He has incredible speed and dexterity but I find his playing to be too sequenced.

  • two people have no clue what a great guitarist is or what great guitar playing looks and sounds like!

  • Paul Gilbert proved that anyone can shred if they really work their ass off for it and that real men play pink, not just wear it.

  • He seems a bit uncomfortable

  • @Kadadj hes 21 thats probly why or who knows man he was fast as hell still is one of the fastest around but more melodic now either because his hands can only take so much or by choice hah.

  • if only i was that good lol

  • can someone plese tell me the pattern o the lick he s playin at 00:22 ....

  • Only a player of his level can make a pink guitar cool.

  • 30,000th view :)

  • great paul is the best sorry satriani vai malstem and many more

  • paul needs to share some of his skill....too much talent and precision for one person IMO

  • Sweet playing

  • This man are my super influence! one day i feel like him!

  • 2:57 "NO!"

  • @ismelljello nah I think he saids quickly ''paul his a god cos' he can play faster than lighting''

  • Looks like he's on speed or something. Weird eyes. :D

  • @SpectralUltra Adderall! :D

  • 21 years old..... damn...

  • 3:01 - 3:28 cool !!

  • diminshed arpeggios make the guitar sound like its asking a question hahahaha

  • @dmohr7 hahaha they're mysterious!

  • The shredding from 3:38 was so fast that it made some disruptions to the camera.

  • I think buckethead was at this guitar clinic considering it took place in his home town

  • At 3:38 paul's playing was exceeding never seen levels of awesomeness.

Time and space started to distort.

  • that is pure insanity

  • I wounder if the uses a compressor in this clinic :/ I sure cant get that smooth sound with out one!

  • 0:22 to :41 PLIS what is the song's name?

    Pretty gooooood!

  • @Demmettreus Not from a song. Just sweeping exercises!

  • @YummyBananaFish what is the shapes hes use?

  • @Demmettreus I'm going to *assume* that he's using the 'standard' minor sweeping arpeggio shapes, but adding in notes from the corresponding minor scale on the high E string.

I suppose that doesn't help... search for 'Paul Gilbert Intense Rock - Arpeggios.' In that video, he explains it.

  • @YummyBananaFish

    I'll do a search, I do not know a lot of music theory. I never had a teacher = / ... but I will research. Thanks =)

  • @Demmettreus I never had a teacher either! Theory is so fun to learn yourself!

  • @YummyBananaFish

Yes, but with a teacher would be easier = P But where I live there is no teacher. So I have to have patience. sorry for bad english

  • his guitar`s finish is so damn ugly, but he`s so incredibly fast...

I like Dimebag darrels guitarclinic video more

  • A giant hand... or a small neck. And lots of practice

  • Instant tendonitis...

  • the shred at 3:35 was so awesome it made the camera freak out!

  • he had more juice in the tank than he has today

  • 3:00

Sounds like a futile effort of igniting Wartburg on a cold winter morning.

Dudes from eastern Europe know what I'm talking about.

  • the cleanliness...

  • @ 2:58 ... Amazing guitar skills and totally funny at the same time !! HEY PAUL, GIVE ME AN F !!!

  • this Video Made

    1. My penis cry

    and

    2. my guitar commit suicide.

  • @djrhys95 Yeah but his guitar´s pink.

  • @stoob1969 its amazing

  • hay un guitarrista a este nivel?solo becker

  • @guitarkot donde dejais a Greg Howe..

  • I love when he says "You can try a few variations.." (plays 2,000,000 notes) "..kind of like that.."

  • hhh...

    .

  • 3:38 he's goin so fast the camera fucks up lol

  • Does anyone know what lick that was at the start of the video?

  • @Kiejzo I believe it was a Shawn Lane lick.

  • @bachnagy thanks, I dont listen to him too much but Ill try to figure it out, he was an amazing guitarist.

  • I saw this same clinic in Albany GA in '87 ! He was sick ! I was 14 and lost !He played us a few songs from a reel to reel og Mr. Big before it was released ! really cool

  • @fraaz Hey, I live in Albany, GA! You're telling me Paul was here?

  • @Shinmeiryu Yep ! He was at Georgia music and stereo . I was a student of Mike Waters at the time .It was a promotional tour of seminars for Ibanez guitars .I chatted back and forth with him on line for about a year and then lost contact .Really cool guy !

  • @fraaz Not sure if Georgia Music and Stereo exists anymore, but that's awesome.

  • @ MitchD17:

He mispelled Anaheim at least lol

  • @CSIC2006 Mitch had it spelled like this on his upload too I think. So they're both idiots. I keed I keed.

  • what scale is he using? sorry for my bad english

  • Somebody have tabs for the exercise of the first part?

  • @blitzspeer why? it was awesome! better than boring fucking black

  • He was blazing fast when he was young. Why now...he has mellowed a little.,,

  • he still is blazing fast when he wants to be

  • Yeah I know but he does his old fast things very Rarely now.The reason why people think he isn't fast enough.

  • @AstriBlair, he is still plenty fast. I agree he has mellowed out a little bit.. i think its a shame , however, he is more intersting and varied now. He still shreds when he needs to .. technical difficultes, ciking kong, Bro etc. but yes, i miss the old 80;s paul. He says in interviews that he just got bored of playing scales at a zillion miles an hour... good luck to him, his choice, greatest guitarist! :)

  • What interview did you see PG say that?

  • @AstriBlair, just in some really old guitar magazines etc. but theres a video here on youtube called: paul gilbert and the world time card , where he says how he learnt to play scales other than all fast and 3 nps. Also, he joined Mr.Big for the reason that he wanted some major success in a pure rock n roll band.

Theres one more video somewhere where he states blazing up and down a scale sounds like a clasical musician and he wanted to escape that feel.

    Good day

  • @AstriBlair Perhaps he got tired of being a "god of speed"?

  • amazing how his picking hand hardly ever moves

  • It was like the camera couldnt handle his playing lol

  • lol i wasa gonna write the same type of message but then i saw urs and i laughed.

  • Who can?

  • -_o

    o_o

    O_O

    O_o

  • -_o

  • Who was he talking about at the beginning of the vid? Shawn Lane?

  • seems so, he was the only person string skipping diminished stuff at this time

  • No one. He was saying that you must have a giant fretting hand to play that lick.

  • nessuno di quei coglioni presenti

aveva cpaito il talento di quest'uomo

che poi anni dopo sboccio ed ora al 2009

    è uno delle poche persone

che ha esplorato nuovi orizzonti tecnici e teorici

  • You ripped my video of this and uploaded it yourself?

  • @MitchD17

Did you film this video yourself? Otherwise it doesn't really belong to you.

  • @MitchD17 hahaha you got banned!!! what a fag :D

  • paul gilbert in his prime!!

  • sounds like jason becker guitar
