I use Cubase 5 as DAW and, in this case, Galaxy Steinway as VST. My speakers are connected to a mixer that is connected to my UA-25EX. The speakers (KRK Rokit 5) have in-built amplifiers. Works fine :)
Find or start a band, you're fucking good. I can play excellent classical music, but I can't improv for shit, I'm trying right now but I just mess around with pentatonic/blues scales. If I were you, I would pursue piano

Sau krass... echt wirklich hammer mäßig... ich spiel jetztt seit etwa einem Jahr Klavier... hab allerdings vorher schon 4 Jahre Keyboard gespielt.... wenn cih dann in ca. 10 jahren auch so abgeh... hallelujah :D
