And because of his "questionable" connections and so on and so forth. People can't get their head around numbers like 700 billion. Nobody thinks, "I could divide that evenly between every single person I've ever met and we'd all be fucking loaded." A lot of that 700 billion is going to mysteriously disappear into a number of bank accounts registered in Switzerland. This bailout is to get us used to being ripped off.
its very scary..people are so overworked and underpaid..that the ordinary person has neither the time or inclination to understand the deeper meanings of the events that are PRESENTED to us. If everyone really understood how fractional banking works i think things would be different.
One problem , thats not what happened , republican supported that bailout because they are even more liberal than the dems , I will be voting for Obama this thursday
People have stopped falling for Sarah Palin and John McCain is back to "feeble old man." Obama will be president unless the election is rigged.
If McCain wins by a number of votes smaller than the margin of error like Bush did in 2000, we'll know it was a rigged election and hopefully Americans won't be so fat and lazy that they can't be bothered to stand up for what's right.
Bush lost the popular vote in 2000, but won the electoral vote (look up the electoral college). The US President is not elected by a majority of raw votes. This is a common misconception. Bush DID, however, get a majority of the popular votes in the 2004 election (as well as the majority of the electoral votes).
To answer your question, Bush won both times (even after the Florida recount was complete), because what counts isn't the popular vote, but the electoral vote.
Thousands of votes for Gore disappeared in Florida and many minorities were turned away for made-up "voter irregularities." There has never been absolute consensus on what actually happened in Florida.
Plus, the simple fact is that more people wanted Gore to be president enough to bother going out and voting for him.
Not only that, If you look up the electoral count you will find something quite funny. AlGore wouldn't have needed a single vote in Florida, had he not been so arrogant as to not even campaign in his own home state. That's right. If Big Al had won in Tennessee, he would have been president. Even without a single solitary vote in the entire state of Florida.

I think that so many super delegates endorsed Obama because many of them were "in bed with" the financial mess, and Obama, whose ties are also in question would help the same Dems cover it up!
I'm not talking about the bailout. That was the last and worst case scenario that had no other options. I am talking about the same Dems that hoped that their corruption would never come to this and that their nefarious activities withing the "industry" could be covered!
you have it wrong, unfortunately, McCain didn't work against the bailout. He supported it!!! He missed his golden opportunity! Man, the election was his to lose, and he sure did! Poor Palin--she has to defend his stupidity!
Yo Dude; Grammpy McCain supported the bail out plan too! He also did not support or vote on the new G.I. bill (which Obama did support). Gotta love how those repuplicorps love the troops.
The trouble with Obama is that he supported the Bailout too. The bailout is an embezzlement of the taxpayers. Support the troops, fine. not the bailout. Both Obama and McCain lost my consideration for a vote.
Well, Obama's up 9 points. Conservatives are pissed about McCain's support of the proposal and progressives are pissed that DeFazio's plan wasn't even mentioned in the media except by Kucinich on the Rachel Maddow show. No one's happy about this proposal; maybe this crash is what we need to push away from the bureacratic two-party system. Alternatives will only become more appealing. And it's the Wall Street execs who will lose their jobs (hopefully). A change is a comin'. Trust me.
"....Ten or twenty years later, analogous behavior can be recognized as well-known buffoonery and does not deprive the victim of his ability to think and react purposefully. His answers are usually well-thought-out strategies, issued from the position of a normal persons superiority and often laced with ridicule. Man can look suffering and even death in the eye with the required calm. A dangerous weapon falls out of rulers hands."
"The methods of psychological terror (that specific pathocratic art), the techniques of pathological arrogance, and the striding roughshod into other peoples souls initially have such traumatic effects that people are deprived of their capacity for purposeful reaction;
The end was in sight in 2001. An excuse for war was quickly engineered. The Federal Reserve sang tenor by lowering interest rates to artificially low levels, simultaneously releasing a river of cash onto the streets as an antidote to deflation. The scheme worked and the Dow was lifted to a new high by a slight margin. The trump card was a steady rise in prices for food and energy, draining Americans of hard earned wages just before the lights were turned out.
"The pathological social structure gradually covers the entire country creating a 'new class' within that nation. This privileged class [of pathocrats] feels permanently threatened by the 'others', i.e. by the majority of normal people. Neither do the pathocrats entertain any illusions about their personal fate should there be a return to the system of normal man....."
He was on TeeVee crowing about being Bailout Champ right before it tanked, c/o the GOP - & his party is now going to have to own all the pain of a major economic clusterfuck, all because Nasty Pelosi hurt their delicate emo souls with her awful criticism of Bush.
McCrash must be having major flashbacks of 2000 right now - his own party just ratfucked him AGAIN. I don't think they want to be captain of the SS Depression 2.
dude, the republicans are at fault here. we need to take our country back from people like you as well. listen if your not for george bush then you cant vote republican anymore dughh

All you haters need to get over yourselves, stop being so angry at the wrong people, and actually step back for a minute and look at the facts. Fleetwood knows whats going on and you assholes are just so pissed at the world to absorb what his is saying.
"With the Obama truth squads asking the police to arrest anyone who they say is telling lies about Obama, this is becoming clear. President Obama would ensure the fascist corporate takeover by 2009"
Listen to yourself, europarl.
Doesn't that sound like a Neo-Con sleeper!
Bush and Cheney institute a Fascist, warmopngering regime--and you are blaming Obama in advance for a FAcist takeover?
Calm down Mopsius, you'll tear up the matrix. If it helps you sleep better tonight, I can't stand McCain or his neo-con sponsors. But I wouldn't bet my last pennies on Obama, either.
I think Obama would be better for the corporate fascism that is taking over the US. Fascism loves grassroot goons, cos they give it all the semblance of people's control. This is what the Mussolini and Hitler youths were all about. With the Obama truth squads asking the police to arrest anyone who they say is telling lies about Obama, this is becoming clear. President Obama would ensure the fascist corporate takeover by 2009, while McCain has no grassroots to help legitimize the coup.
I was attending school on a tiny island in the Mediterranean. The word was that the Americans were killing the Vietnamese to save them from communism. But we already knew about the military industrial complex back then.

Wasn't that about the time the Israelis attacked the USS Liberty, killed scores of Americans, machine-gunned the lifeboats, and tried to sink the ship with all aboard?
My main points on this thread are: (1)Nader and Paul are frauds; (2) the Republican Party must be destroyed (factio Republicana delenda est); (3) voting for Obama in overwhelming numbers destroys the Republican Party; (4) Fleetwood is a shill for the Neo-Cons and the Republicans; (5) you are too.
He met his wife Wendy during his senior year. The couple has two adult children, Henry Merritt III and Amanda Clark, and became grandparents in June 2007. They maintain homes in Washington, DC and Barrington Hills, Illinois.
In 1970 Paulson received a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School
A star athlete at Barrington High School, Paulson was a champion wrestler and stand out football player, graduating in 1964. Paulson received his Bachelor of Arts in English from Dartmouth College in 1968; at Dartmouth he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and was an All Ivy, All East, and honorable mention All American as an offensive lineman.
Born in Palm Beach, Florida, to Marianna Gallaeur and Henry Merritt Paulson, a wholesale jeweler, he was raised in Barrington Hills, Illinois. He was raised as a Christian Scientist. Paulson attained the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.
What Ralph Nader has been doing for years is standing around with his finger up his ass, until suddenly the Republicans finance him to take votes away from Democrats. Like
Paul, he rakes in the money and reinserts his finger in his ass till the next election.
Fleetwood is too smart to be a dupe.
Ergo--he is a Neo-Con and Republican shill like Nader and Paul.
By the way HR 3221 was passed and signed in July, effective Oct. 1st/Homeowner Rescue Bill. Tell me, did they take that into account and did they strip the slush fund to ACORN and others that pushed NINJA loans (no income, no job, no assets), oh... and the no social security number loans as well. CA has a huge load of those.
you figured that out quick, now your off for 2 days,i hope they hired you, that would be tight if you get to live when they holacost us,u deserve it.mop,on the other hand, well let me put it this way, fire is too good for him.
I do feel obliged to point out, that some people don't get, Pelosi is a centrist Democrat which puts her less at odds with Republican ideas than, oh, Obama, who must make more significant sacrifice of his very liberal ideas to come to compromises with what is now a Republican president.
Given that Fleetwood is Trainor's alter ego, it is hard not to conclude that Trainor is a Neo-Con and a Republican. I wonder if Fleetwood being Roman Catholic is also part of the role?
1. as ive said for months, obama cant win because hes black, thats why the right wing media pushed him. his disastrous ego trip was enabled by mcgovern types and suicidal black pride.
2. what makes the rep so unbeatable no matter how bad they govern is that they say or do whatever it takes to win, then do what the rich greedy right wing really wants.
3. the fags, the right to choosers, the welfare moms need to shut up until they win, then come out with their real agenda just like bush.
"Davis..I SOooooo Hope You are right that McCain/Pelosi win!I am totally against this bailout.Bush and the Dems are WRONG.People who can't afford a home should not be allowed to buy one!You forget to mention that Barney Frank and Schumer are corrupt politicans along with the Dems...and that Barack Hussein Obama was their attorney. They are so corrupt and evil and are set out on ideas of Marxism!"

pat52007...don't even waste your typing efforts on ignoramouses like mopsius.People like this that know NOTHING of what they are sayin and have no factual data to support these dumb statements, need to be totally ignored.
Excuse me pat52007? I've only tried to share my perspective, and listen to the perspectives of those who cared to share. Point to one thing I've typed that seems a waste of time in such exchange of ideas? You can disagree w/ my ideas, but that doesn't make them a waste of time. If I followed that mantra, Nader would be a waste of time for not agreeing w/ how to deal w/ the contex of our times as I've been stressing.
"pat52007...don't even waste your typing efforts on ignoramouses like mopsius.People like this that know NOTHING of what they are sayin and have no factual data to support these dumb statements, need to be totally ignored."
I will write in Ron Paul and keep my self-respect while I watch the country crumble and bask in gratitude that I was smart enough to store up cheap food and a few gallons of gas that I may be able to drink later to end my suffering. What a f@cking hell we are in!
But the good news is............no one in real life even seems to see it. Maybe it isn't as bad as it seems...........LOL
Yes, thank Ron Paul very much now for being a total jiveass on impeachment, and for suspending his campaign, and for trying to save (his own words) the Republican Party.
...i dont actually believe that... but i dont disbelieve it either. the point being, you are right... one way or the other, all of this is absolutely fucked.
UGH, what's up w/ this guy? How do you call a McCain-Palin victory when Biden hasn't even buried Palin yet?And this guy uses insults--not a constructive way to inform. For someone who claims superior knowledge of the issues, he doesn't acknowledge the necessary Machavelian strategy of maneuvering a broken representative democracy in order to repair it--opposed to Nader's non-sequiter behavior in the face of such contex, not factoring this realism into the idealism Obama & Nader share.
Davis, do not be concerned that the voters, stupid as they are, will elect McCain.
I personally believe that US Americans are unable to do so, because some people out there in our nation have televisions ... and when they hear this Thursday how much Sarah Palin sounds like Miss Teen South Carolina, they will be terrified that John McCain might die from face cancer or crashing Air Force One something. Seriously.
I think you're just flat out wrong on this one buddy. Nothing is indicating this has hurt obama. Quite the opposite, he's doing much better now.
And this old "take to the streets" thing. God I can't stand that line. I've heard that 1000 times from groups of people who never accomplish anything. People don't need to "take to the streets" they need to become politically active and make their impact on the process.
go light another one up. Obama did good.

Gotta love how those repuplicorps love the troops.
joemoe1967 3 years ago

Trust me.

President Obama would ensure the fascist corporate takeover by 2009, while McCain has no grassroots to help legitimize the coup.
