  • can you use Elmer's glue??? thanks!

  • @doggzydd Well, since our Momma Aleene developed this technique over 40 years ago, we've never tried any other glues :)

  • Fantastic!

  • @wonderwend1 Thank you! We love this technique! And we love how Tiffany used it here!

  • I wonder if getting into crafts would help improve my art (I draw people). it'd probably give me great ideas for textures.

  • @pengubaby - This is a technique that is beautiful on all types of hard surfaces. You should definitely try to incorporate into your artwork!

  • @pengubaby I think making things in 3 dimensions will definately give you a new way to think about things in 2 dimensions when you draw them.

P.S. check out my channel if you like to make stuff! I can make lots of other stuff than is in my (few) videos, and I can use almost any media to make things.

  • @pengubaby I am positive it will. It enhances spatial relationship and also fine motor skills of hand muscles that are used infrequently in drawing. I've taken up knitting and hand embroidery . I have plans of taking an Illustration class next. Please come back if you do take on crafts. Would like to hear your feedback.

  • Can I use this technique over my baked polymer clay pieces? This would look so cool on some of my pieces that I sculpt!

  • @herbalwyze Yes! You should be able to do this technique on your baked polymer clay pieces. Just apply a coat of the Aleene's Original Tacky Glue to the surface that you want to apply this technique. The only challenge is that you need something to attach your piece to to hold during the burning process. On my rings, I used the ring finding but you still have to be VERY careful when holding so that you do not in any way get close to burning your fingers. Holding with pliers is good! [Tiffany]

  • @herbalwyze bad idea the fumes are toxic

  • I love, love, love it ¡

  • The ring shapes are made with Cool2Cast. You can purchase Cool2Cast and molds at shopcool2craft or you can also purchase ready-made ring blanks.

  • how do you make all those shapes they're so cool like. can you help me out

  • Thanks, Robyn! There's so much you can do with this technique!

  • Wow Beautiful!! Thanks sew much!! Robyn

  • Thanks for your comment OneHappyBird123! We love it when Tiffany shares the vintage Aleene's techniques!
