der song behandelt nationalismus, rassismus und homophobie im heutigen großbritanien.
es geht um leute, die stolz sind die nazis "geschlagen" zu haben, allerdings nur aus krankem nationalgefühl und ohne zu merken, dass sie selbst nazis sind.
quasi das equivalent zum deutschen nazi-opa.

natürlich ist der hintergrund des satzes sowas von überhaupt nicht geil. das war gerade nur die spontane freude, dass das deutsch ist. denn von den libertines bekommt man sonst ja weniger deutsches zu hören..

Your right, but its in Poland meht. The town of Oswiecim near Krakow, roughly translates to Auschwitz in German. Terrible place, recomend you go though. Life changing.

I like the band but I dont now what they mean,I understand it but "arbeit macht frei" is called like an KZ in germany in the 3rd world war...I dont know if they mean this because it isn´t funny...well, I don´t hope so!

der text ist über einen kz häftling, dem die wärter zu verstehen gaben, dass nur wenn er arbeite und schaufle und seine Leute verbrenne (also ihre Befehle befolge) frei gelassen werden würde.
