Anyone else notice that the music under the first couple of seconds (Popeye, Bluto, and Olive walking together) is "What We Need Is Brotherly Love", from the Popeye cartoon of the same name?
It's what was known as a "cheater" -- making a toon from older footage. Everybody did it, but at least the Fleischers were clever about it, and their stuff was good -- unlike, say, TerryToons, whose stuff was rarely good in the first place.
teryToons really were tremendously terrible! I won't ever subject my friend's three year old son to lay eyes on a second of one! He's yet to fall in love with these classics! More Popeye for the young 'ins!
one of the best episodes :P
