@Jamaalq7 noo..she composed and produced, its listed on the label on the CD..this wold either be considered someone just trying to mess with everyone and be fraudulent, or the song was made and she may or may have not wanted it..so this guy was given it to sample..ITS HER SONG BUT HE SAMPLED THE MELODY.. she was going to use the song "I Feel It" but something went wrong with the copyrighting and she threw in Joy Ride last minute..so if she never used Joy Ride on EOM,then this song would be his

Everyone that works with Mariah comments on how she is massively involved in the writing of her music. She's not like Beyonce who has frequent bad press about it, and is clearly just doing it for vanity and financial reasons. Mariah wrote her first album before she even had a deal. She's been writing from the get go, she's not one of these people who all of a sudden just 'starts' writing - she always has. This is the same instrumental, but it's a completely different song to Joyride.

I guess there is not a single serious review by experts (in vocal coaching not commercial music) that has ever said anything positive about her vocals since the Rainbow album. They say things like "a little voice" "a very stressed and tired voice" "sure she's not longer a powerhouse vocalist" etc

She explained her process to Barbara Walters in 2006 & in the video "Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff composing a song together." An example of this music creating process would be "Fourth Of July" where only Ms. Carey is listed in the lyrics section while Walter Afanasieff is listed with her in the music section
