This game will be avarage at best, same iritating things that were in AVP serie are gonna reappear. Like moments when aliens kill/pull your fellow marines, you shoot at them and you cant kill them. Wish they would make gameplay more mirroring the film, like if alien gets into melee range its game over, aliens prefer to stalk rather than charge etc.

i think they should have when your playing story with yourself you should be stuck in a building with lot of aliens coming. your Commander should say run run there are lots aliens coming just run. then the building power goes off and then boom a alien come out of nowhere they come from the floor ,celling all trying to grab you.

@72Armed It's not Gearbox's fault Duke "nukum" wasn't that good. They took over an almost complete game from 3D Realms. If they'd made it from scratch, it would be good. Gearbox won't fail with Aliens: Colonial Marines.

when does the action take place? ripley's name is mentioned but its a past reference ...is it beetween alien 2 and 3 ? how come...wasn't the facility destroyed ?
@capitanos The story takes place after Aliens 3, thats what I've read. How the Hadley's Hope facility survived the blast and most of the story is being well guarded apparently, but I'm hoping Gearbox does it right.

so long as they do this properly it will work. No fancy plasma weapons, bio mech suits or miniguns, this is not predator. Keep the marines original as seen in the film and dont give them jetpacks or anything stupid. I look forward to this i really do, i just fear they want to try and prove something adn thats where it will fail.
No one wants to be the Marine, they only wish to be the Predator or Alien, so if you cannot be the Predator/Alien then they have already lost touch with people's real wishes for this game.
Also look closely at the Marines' gun, graphically if we compare it to the guns in Alien versus Predator then it is a lot simpler looking in this game..........fail.

The official hands-on and interview said it was about what would have happened if the backup the Marines had called for did actually arrive. You play one of those marines, and you see famous scenes from the film, such as the Vasquez and Gorman incident with the grenade, and Bishop being ripped in half.

I love the alien movies.Last game from the franchise i got was alien trilogy for the sega Saturn,it was really great for its time.but this here...looks absolutely aeesome,go and get it sega/gearbox!!

Brilliant! It's great they're making another game, I loved the last one Avp, it was awesome. But really hope you can play as an alien, or they make a decent campaign this time, In AVP they were extremely lazy. The multiplayer should be improved, and offline and online co/op story would be great. Good luck to SEGA and gearbox!
