@Midnightwolf991 It depends on what you want to do with it... carry, hunt, etc. A shorter barrel will be lighter and easier to conceal but less accurate. The longer barrels will be more accurate, but bigger and heavier.
Thanks for sharing with us your beautiful revolver. I believe yours is one of the very early no dash, no lock Smiths Yours was made somewhere from 1980 to 1986. The jewelling and grips enhances the looks (to me anyway). A very fine weapon and I hope you will treasure it and one day pass it on to your son (or daughter).

I just picked up a 686p. I definitely want custom grips. Great gun. Mine has the 3" barrel.
