  • wow. this helped me a ton! thanks alot lol i wanted to know for the longest time..how to do that..coolest sounding fill ever

  • The Bass is KILLING!!! that grove is incredible

  • @badmotorscooter1000 to say that Eric Moore haven't played with any artists is not accurate. He did play for Suicidale Tendesies and Chaka Khan

  • Your right man I just figured a world champion drummer wouldn't have time to follow himself around with a camera playing the same material all the time. He would be to busy because of his hectic schedule from touring with big time acts, He has tried harder than any GC winner to try and remain relevent. You never know Usher may call anytime. You my friend need to get your own life. Eric is a big boy. He don't need cling ons following him around blowing up his ego. And who are you?

  • Making a living off the same crap for years just practice the same patterns into ground and got fast at it. Wheres are the videos of him playing with recording artist. All I see is appearing in music stores and showing up at namm. cheesy stick twrils also. World class drummers don't do cheese.

  • @badmotorscooter1000 Nothing you say matters Bro. You are a hater. and no one cares to even hear you speak. Even If Eric Moore didnt have gigs and did the same licks over and over It wouldnt matter. Eric Moore Still won Guitar center drum off. and Still has his own drum stick with pro mark and Has DW drum endorsement. LOL. STOP THE HATE and go practice you are on every video Hating away.. I guess it doesn't matter because Unlike Eric Moore you are a no body. No PICTURE NO NAME NO BODY. LOL.haha

  • @Em2300 Okay this is Eric. Threw me off you talking about yourselff 3rd party. The drummoff you deserved you are my favorite winner still. But its been 8 years and Im still seeing basically the same material and you have made more video than any drummer on youtube by far. You have become so full of yourself just listen to you rattle off about yourself not very humble. Thats the side Im talking about. I 'll get off your ass Eric because I feel a little sorry for you, but I am a somebody

  • @Em2300 Yo E-man, whassup! i know i don't know you like that to call you e-man, but i don't mean any harm. just have one question. i know there are the technical things in particular that you have to work on but seriously, put an end to this in my mind. can i achieve hands like yours by practice hard hours on a pillow. i would like to know if i'm going in the right direction. thanks bruh and be blessed.

  • That 3 over 2 is called a fivelet, or egg-beater. Very cool lick.

  • i dont think hes arrogant i just dont think hes a great teacher

  • he looks kinda sluggish here but i don't think he's being arrogant. how is he arrogant?

  • That what's up for reall!!!!

  • 4:48

  • Sorry, I didn't get the time signature. Are those Groupings of 5 and 4 over 16th Note Triplets? So we have 5 + 4 = 9 16th Note Triplets for example? In one bar I have 24 Notes and I can fill it up with 24/5 = 4 x 5 + 4? That would get me 4 times the Grouping of 5 and one time the Grouping of 4 in one Bar for example. Or 6 times the Grouping of 4 and no Grouping of 5... you all do the math for other possibilitys. Am I right?

  • @Creeuser87 its all 16th note triplets but since its either 3 in the hands and one in the feet or three in the hands and two in the feet it sounds weird. But its all played over a 16th note triplet grid.

  • How do you know when to end a 3 over 2 fill?

  • @OwrKeeng - soul.

  • keep it up fellas....yu on the right track.

  • lol 4:12

Bass player: "should i start playing from that one part, uh..."

    Eric: "just play! come on!"

  • Straight killer man.

  • To hell with the gospel B.S. This man is a GENIUS!

  • no maaa toca bien vergas..para mi este es el mejor baterista....

  • @SAuLAmoaSTrokesStrat mejor en que sentido?

  • @Proghead88 Mejor en su forma de moverse...

  • comment qil se la pete le mec il frime!!!

  • For anyone having trouble making sense of this:

    5 + 4 = 9

    9 + 9 + 6 = 24 (a 4/4 measure of sixteenth note triplets)

which is why it works so well. Going back and forth between "3 over 2" and "3 over 1" gives you 9 note groupings, or 3 triplets, each time.

  • Comment removed

  • @hardhitter0421 I'm sorry that made no sense.

  • Comment removed

  • Well said, sir.

  • @Proghead88 mmmm..... yeah that makes no sense to me... >_>

could that have something to do with me playing bass or are you just confusing people? lol

  • lol I use this lick all the time now. Its maaad versitile and u can really use it in any way from 8th note triplets to 32nds.

  • i'am your best fan eric moore

  • u need to tight up a drum head a play rimshots.thats it

  • what size snare is he using? does anyone know how to get that kinda sound

  • just tighten up your lugs really really tight

  • it looks like a 14x5

but yea, just tighten it up, its not a hard sound to get

  • 5inch by 14inch

  • looks like the batter and resonance side are about the same pitch...but a little tighter on top a little looser on bottom...just a smidgen

  • Look liek a super sized ringo kit! .......The colour detail i mean :D

  • maestro!

  • for adamjavoski and some other begginers: it is actually a 4/4 beat, that´s the measure applied to this beat, he´s only doing a rythm with 16th note´s triplets accent, what means that you can separate and vuzualise all hits (hi-hat, snare and bass drum), if you put a 4/4 bar with 24 subdivisions (that´s what 16th note´s triples are, also called 24th notes very often), i can send you a midi explaination or a sheet music example to see what i mean ;)

  • For all you know the bassist could've came up with something to go with the beat, and there's obviously a bit of improv going on here.

  • this is triplets right?

  • yes, but not ordinary triplets.....

they are triplets played by the master Eric Moore!!!!

  • yea they're triplets, just the accents are being placed in groups of 5 as opposed to groups of 3 (accent on 1st triplet) which is why it may "seem" out of time, but its not :)

  • eric moore IS the man.

    Tightass grooves.

Almost all gospel drummers are really skilled and talented musicians. Probably the genre/lifestyle that brings out the best drummers you can get :)

  • @SinisterSkip - Spoken like a Drummer that knows Good Drummers....Very Well Said!!!!!

  • really great idea! but the lick at 2:27 is not correct. it does not come back to the one. but anyway i'm gonna practise that stuff, sounds really awesome, thank you, Eric!

  • What do you mean? And who says your accent always needs to be on one?

  • it does come back to the 1 when he hits the crash. count out loud, you'll see.

  • wrong. two strokes too much.

  • watch when he plays it at 3:30, and with the bassguitar. it clearly lands on the 1.

  • yes, if you can read you will see I wrote "the lick at 2:27"

  • severin, youre right^^

  • i put a thumbs up on you coz you're right, he ended up hitting it on 2 but he did it a second time and hit it correctly on 2. he might've just done it on purpose, just slowin it down for others to catch up :). good countin' tex!

  • lol, check out the mcdonalds right next to him.

  • OHHHHH! SNAP. McDonalds and a shed...YEAH!

  • he is the man

  • Dude your a genius!

  • LOL

    dont be rasist

  • LOL

    dont be rasist

    niggers can really grooove!

  • haha yeah i know i was just having a rasist moment at the time

  • break it down one more time for the brothers in the back

  • dang, like your style

  • sometimes hes doing 3 over 1 and then 3 over 2

  • how do u get that snare sound??

  • no muffling

defanatly tuned high on both heads

    tight snare strainer

  • i use extra hella tight on bottom and a medium ish tight on top

  • damn, his snare does sound clean.

  • lol this guy is don

i vary most licks around this its so pleasing to the ear and non drummers/fits best in song breaks

    lushh

  • pretty tight, and i like the sound of your snare

  • nice!

  • excellent drummer=D

  • damn he kinda funky

  • Exellent material! Keep up the good work! One thing Id like to ask! (This is also for anyone else who sees this and can help)I have a big problem with developing speed on licks. Seem as if I can only get as fast as 16th's. I waana get up into 32nds. Is it just a matter of more practice or is there something I have to work on with my hands? Any advice?

  • That is a sweet snare sound yo.

  • i knoo...its pretti kool

  • thanks for sharing this info i did not no it was this easy you should be a drumm teacher!

  • best drum off champ period.

  • hey eric dont pay attention to the haters your a DEADLY WICKED drummer! half of em are just jealous they cant do what you can :) keep it coming man.

    God Bless!

  • Wtf!

G1hotElephant is moron and soooo pretentious. Just read his comment and his video to see what I'm talking about... LOL!!!

    Enough of wasting time.

    This dude own on drums.

Thanx a lot to share some stuff on drums, I will watch any other video from you. Making useful video is great and some ppl appreciate it.

    Keep grooving!!!

  • he explained both ways.

  • Go eric, your so cool... :-) Sabian Rocks!

  • Man, Eric moore surely has a fast hand but I like aaron spears way of playing.. I saw his vid.. Moore has lot of speed but aaron surely has a great groove.. They are both exceptional though..

  • Nice. Nice. Nice

  • Nice. A different way to orchestrate sextuplets with a five note sticking. I'm stealing that lick!

  • why do people become arrogant after they're blessed with talent

  • @caugustus88

Probably once their minds are opened up to the ability to freely channel music they find themselves unable to connect with normal people that just say, play it a little slower, break it down... ect... its annoying I imagine

  • @caugustus88

If you're talking about "Gospel" drummers like from gospel chops then you've not payed attention. They ALWAYS "big it up" to God, and the point of their videos like this are, as they say in most of their vids, its their way of spreading the word of God through their playing.

In fact I think its admirable (from an outside perspective) that they don't take all the credit for their litteral YEARS of hard work and practice to get where they are today. They attribute it to God.

  • @caugustus88 Eric Moore seems pretty down to earth to me.

  • @caugustus88 how is he arrogant?

  • @caugustus88 Dude, I know this was a long time ago but if were refering to Eric, he seems really down to early.. but wtev.

  • yea right eric moore is a god! and do yu play drums buddy? thats right you fuckin faggot

  • Okaaaay?...God? Your really screwed up in the head. Dont get butt hurt just cuz someone doesnt like the way your boyfriend/god plays..

  • Nigga you sick... eric moore is the bomb!

  • Eric moore is the bomb if you havent heard better. Listen to thomas pridgen. Eric moore played at a church service in northern cali and he was all talking trash about all kinda kats. His attitude sucks.

  • thanks man so much everyone one who checks me out on the web.. it is a blessing to be able to reach out to people and show some of the stuff god has blessed me to do with the internet. everybody and i mean everybody people who know me and people who dont. stay very blessed and keep practicing.. GOD BLESS...

  • can you please post more videos showing more fills like the one no this video. BTY i personally think you are the best drummer in the world.noen can compare

  • Show us.

  • DrumKicker787 how did it work for you? Clean I like it!

  • I never used it lol. I forgot to.

  • he looks like a really nice guy!

  • Yep. He's faster than Mike Mangini

  • yeah no. not even close.

  • Eric moore is so good...he makes a simple lick sound so amazing

  • At around 1:22 he is actually doing "3 over 2" and "3 over 1." So, he does the group of 3 with his hands but he'll do a 2 on his foot and then the 3 again on his hand and just a one with his foot.

  • if you guys like gospel drummers PLEASE check out nat townsley he is one of the best!!!

  • yes dat nigga iz!!!!

  • Hey good stuff I just finally got this 3 over 2, 3 over 1 down I use it at church now! Thank Eric

  • GONNA USE IT TOMORROW! WOO! LOL.

  • sick- but that's not 3 over 2 and then 3 over 1. it's a grouping of 5 and then 4. I suppose that's a good way to show the uneducated drum community out there the basic idea, but we should preserve the language- it's an established way of teaching and communication. the guys who need to see this stuff written down may lack the natural ability of these gospel guys, but just as it is important to learn to "feel" it, i think it is equally important to learn the language.

  • cool

  • I dont believe thats 3 over two

  • you couldent do this if your life depended on it keep sheddin

  • gotta get a gospelchops dvd.

  • why wont it play all the way anymore!?!
