Still not how it used to be...but it has evolved into the current style without loosing "too much" of what it had i must say...although w few months back, after seeign this trailer i REALLY doubted it...perhaps theyt should make several trailers next time..one for the die hard trek fans and....one for everyone else. @thomasaw3 I've heard it was "Down with the Enterprise" by Two Steps from Hell, but I also heard it's by Toto and is from the Dune soundtrack. Since Two Steps from Hell does trailer music and music licensing, maybe they acquired the rights to the original from the Dune soundtrack and repurposed it for the Star Trek trailer. I'm not sure, but if anyone has a more definitive answer please let us know.

1. It's an odd numbered movie. (This has always been a big thing with Star Trek movies. The even numbered ones do good, and the odd numbered ones do bad.)

2. Many fans may not like the fact that someone new has come and messed with their show, even IF it's an improvement.

3. The Star Trek Stigma. (It's to the point that it's almost embarrassing to just tell someone that you like Star Trek. As soon as you say anything, people picture a bunch of nerds in costumes at a Star Trek convention.)

Pro's:

1. Star trek has a wide fan base. (Although, this seemed to do little for Nemesis.)

2. J.J. Abrams. (Fans of J.J. Abrams will be attracted to the movie. Plus, he has tried to make it appeal to a wide audience, and he's worked to rid it of the stigma of being a Star Trek and the stereotype of trekkies.)

3. New actors may give new depth to the characters.

4. It's time travel. (That's a personal favorite. I love complex and time travel stories.)

yes, enterprise series was bad, just passable thanks to scott "sam beckett" bakula..but this really is the end...even with heroes' sylar and simon "spaced" pegg...evil. so gutted what has happened to start trek. it used to stand for so much, back in the days of picard, sisko and janeway even. i mean just compare this to season 5 of tng or the last season of ds9, with great atmospheric plots dealing with racial indifference and morality. this is terrible.
