I used to be an Nuclear Electronics Technician back in the 90's. After I got out of the Navy, I kept my old NEET modules and used them as a reference while I was working on my bachelors in EE. I still have the old paper backs as well as the PDFs.
I downloaded the course which is very good! The only problem is some of the figures don't come up in Acrobat. They cause Acrobat to display an error. So, I upgraded to Acrobat 9.0 from 5.0. Some illustrations still don't show up, but at least the text now does. Example is Navy01 page 33 Figure 1-15. The illustration doesn't show up, but the text is there. An error still occurs.
I was using Adobe Reader 8 so I downloaded and installed 9. Download volume 01 from the server and it opened up and displayed each page without any errors. I down loaded volume 01 using Internet Explorer and I'm run Window XP home on an HP Pavilion dv 1000.
Here's another link for you. If you can get past the guys thick accent I think you will certainlly enjoy his videos (a refresher for you but all new info for me). I am learning a lot from them right now. I sure wish I knew what you know about electronics AA5. Guess I better get back to the learning, talk soon.
I ought to get back to reading those modules. I've been out of electronics for almost a year now and into my other hobbies. Well it's winter again and now I'm back to the electronics. I'm still a beginner but I've moved on to calculating values for components when designing a class A common emitter circuit. I'm sure I'll be back into things full swing again in a few weeks. Keep up with the good videos.
We have another thing in common, but mine relates to my current Airline project: "I don't understand this, how can this happen?" But good video. Brings back memories of me ole BE&E days, but you'd never know it by observing my troubleshooting performance. What a mess! BTW...nice desktop.
Every time I clean up my desktop I say it is not going to get that way again. But somehow it does again. I don't understand this, how can this happen?
Rich,
Thanks fr dredging these up! I went through BEE and Avionics training and had all these books. Very well laid out for the beginner.

Thanks Mikypi314159
They are an extremely well done series. I use them as well as a reference. I think it is just great that the Navy made these 24 volumes available.

Btw; about PDF-readers and problems.
I use Foxit Reader 2.3. A freeware PDF-reader , and very recommendable.
All illustrations seems to be in place.
Sorry for 2 posts in a row.

Very nice service , AA5.
BTW , there exists 2 different "versons" of the Navy E and E traning series.
They are all seemingly the same , but one "verson" has low quality illustrations.
It almost seems like papersheets have been photocopied and/or scanned.
You have the high-quality ones on your site.
Very good.

I did look at a few versions and sources of this training. I had room on my server for this one. All 24 are excellent courses. Thanks.

First it would be a good idea to down load the newest Adobe Reader. What I do is I use the readers search.
This question is from: Module 5—Introduction to Generators and Motors

I searched on output voltage controll and I found this: Q20. How is output voltage controlled in practical alternators?
Then I searched on A20 and found: A20. By varying the voltage applied to the field windings.
With a little practice you will be able to find all the answers.
