@NoNeedToPot Not really. Wheelstands (within reason) are usually the fastest way to get the torque to the wheels in many classes of drag racing. Spending time trying to get the front end to stay down is actually alot slower than just saying "fuck it" and launching on the wheelie bars. Of course without wheelie bars, the driver and tuners of such a vehicle will want to get the setup right, to where the car stands up on all fours. To see what I mean, search "1969 GTX runs 9.4" its a white GTX 440.

Man Mustangs are sooo common. You see them every were. There's nothing cool or special about them. The stripped down V6 versions cost less then a Honda Civic. I'm an ASE Certified master mechanic and I see Mustangs in my shop all the time. They are junkie. They seem to be mostly made for college age guys to feel like they have a really cool car.

I do know that the 4th gen Camaros will roughly .9g's on the skid pad, but I can't find anywhere where a mark 5 Supra would pull .95. Can you give me a source for that? Not saying its impossible, as the IRS would give it a bit of an advantage, but not that much. I would say handling wise they would be close, but the power of the Camaro gives it the upper hand.
Supra stock came with 320HP and 315ft-lb of torque vs 325HP and 335lb-ft of torque on the Camaro. These difference is minimal as the 1/4 mile times are almost identical so the power would not give it an upper hand. I'd like to see the .9G source from you as I haven't seen higher than .84G. Not to mention the fact it brakes 188ft from 70ft vs Supra's 149ft.
I'm sorry to say but out of the 4th gen Camaro, only the LS1 engine is great. Rest is meh.

Top speed 155mph for both (both electronicly limited, Unless you have the JDM Poopra then your limited to a much lower speed.) supra only wins the 0-60 by about a tenth or two and the same for the 1/4 mile. Give that other nearly $20k to the SS and see how they compare then.

@NoNeedToPot Not really. Wheelstands (within reason) are usually the fastest way to get the torque to the wheels in many classes of drag racing. Spending time trying to get the front end to stay down is actually alot slower than just saying "fuck it" and launching on the wheelie bars. Of course without wheelie bars, the driver and tuners of such a vehicle will want to get the setup right, to where the car stands up on all fours. To see what I mean, search "1969 GTX runs 9.4" its a white GTX 440.

I'm an ASE Certified master mechanic and I see Mustangs in my shop all the time. They are junkie. They seem to be mostly made for college age guys to feel like they have a really cool car.

Camaros are NOT excellent track cars. Its heavy, it rolls through corners, little to no visibility, and has vague steering. I would know, I drove one.
When it comes to pure handling I know the Supra is better than any Camaro. .95G of lateral grip and 70-0 braking almost equivalent of the Porsche Carrera GT supercar (149 vs 146ft).
This is a nonbias perspective as I am a fan of domestics, jdm, and euro.

No, I was talking about a Camaro of the same generation as the Supra, not the new one. Regardless, the Camaros are great track cars. Regardless of what you know of the Supra, the Camaros and Firebirds are extremely popular when it comes to Autocross.
I won't pretend to be an expert, but I've driven my bro's WS6, and I've driven a few friend's Camaros, and while visibility wasn't the greatest, they definitely didn't roll much. I wouldn't say they have vague steering, either.

I do know that the 4th gen Camaros will roughly .9g's on the skid pad, but I can't find anywhere where a mark 5 Supra would pull .95. Can you give me a source for that? Not saying its impossible, as the IRS would give it a bit of an advantage, but not that much. I would say handling wise they would be close, but the power of the Camaro gives it the upper hand.

Supra stock came with 320HP and 315ft-lb of torque vs 325HP and 335lb-ft of torque on the Camaro. These difference is minimal as the 1/4 mile times are almost identical so the power would not give it an upper hand. I'd like to see the .9G source from you as I haven't seen higher than .84G. Not to mention the fact it brakes 188ft from 70ft vs Supra's 149ft.
I'm sorry to say but out of the 4th gen Camaro, only the LS1 engine is great. Rest is meh.

But unfortunately they are almost identical. Top speed 155mph for both (both electronicly limited, Unless you have the JDM Poopra then your limited to a much lower speed.) supra only wins the 0-60 by about a tenth or two and the same for the 1/4 mile. Give that other nearly $20k to the SS and see how they compare then.

@304teddy: RV1 uses a 636ci block, that's the only thing inside it manufactured in America or by Americans... and even that's pretentious at best because it's been modified beyond recognition for displacement and better durability (because Chevy blocks can't handle NoS long term due to inferior manufacturing). lastly honda/toyota have no import taxes here-its a level playing field. last quarter GM retook the lead from toyota world wide sales. honda isnt even close. ford outsold honda worldwide and in america ford outsold toyota as well. its good to be me.

Actually the 2008 Lotus Exige S lapped the Nurbugring at 8:25, the 2010 Camaro 2SS lapped it at 8:19.
The Exige also cost $75,000, the Camaro is $32,000. Perhaps you would like to compare the Exige to a Z06 or ZR1 if you really want to be embarassed?

I should also note...when modded 93-02 Camaros have MUCH better handling than the 2010 ones do.
And even the 2008 Cobalt SS turbo lapped the Nurburgring 2 seconds faster than the Exige S.

The Cadillac CTS-V is beating M3's left and right, while the ZR1 and ACR are mopping the floor with EVERYTHING... And the fastest production car in the world? Veyron? Hell no! The Shelby Supercars Ultimate Aero twin turbo- making 1200 horsepower from a twin turbo V8... An engine with twice the cylinders and higher displacement with FOUR turbos doesn't even make that much.
