What the fuck did I just watch? It was really an amazing 3D fly-over, but then it was ruined with a bunch of pointless, non-sense hate against Nintendo that didn't even have explanation... All this video did was say that fans aren't numbers and that the Nintendo logo sucks now because it's gray? Wtf?! This video is too weird and I have fears for whoever made it, because their hate seems very random and misplaced.

I'll admit that 3d there is impressive, but that doesn't give you the right to deem a still strong company as being not worth while. You want to talk about financial figures, look at the prices of sony and microsoft consoles, it is there that you will find the high prices.
Skyward Sword wasn't about when this was produced. That game felt very personal to me. It's story was immersive and created the story-line circle we've all been waiting for. The Legend of Zelda produces a number of 're-occurances', however SS tied all of these up. When I completed that game, I felt that everything in the saga was complete, and that Nintendo deserve a shitload of credit.
This would of been cool for a 3d Zelda game! :( Too bad I don't know how to make 3d games other than flash stuff... -_- My 3d tests worked but sucked! xD
Let's hope Nintendo is working on a 3D remake of ALttP. I can't decide on whether I'd prefer the WW style graphics or realistic. Seeing this, I realize the cartoony look would be awesome but maybe too similar to the original for a true remake.
Maybe they could use WW graphics for Hyrule and TP graphics for the Dark world?

In Link to the past, Ganon has framed you for the kidnapping of princess Zelda. Thats why the Hyrule guards attack you and some people run away from you. You can see on some sign posts that there is a picture of you(Link) with a reward notice for your capture.
I prefer Link to the pasts hyrule because its far more detailed. The N64 Hyrule was too barren. I think a mix of both would be ideal.

nintendo copyrights are nintendo's art, maybe they feel their art is being exploited, nintendo's art is famous enough to appear to come out of nothing, but oviously was their lifetime esforts, what would you feel if you create graphics and names of 100 skills, items, monsters, etc, at a rate of 2 months per copyright, and becomes famous enough to be treated as public art and to give only credit to the owners of the sub-art?
@emmv75 That is where this project takes a stand. The original artist of this video is being respectful to everything that was seen i nthe game. The thing he is doing that is smart is by showing this off now instead of being hit with a cease and desist letter like another SNES remake group got hit with for their 3D HD remake of Chrono Trigger.
However Nintendo isn't as tight assed as square Enix is so they might not really stop someone from doing this.

You wanna know something. I'll tell you. These old games have better story and plot execution then what you called these "NEW" games will ever have. The originals like Link to the past were the starting basis of the entire zelda line. Same for the FF series in its infancy. These games hold memories that will never die. Its their stories that formed those memories. Not the low edge graphics.

I love Zelda just as much as the next guy, and I'll admit that you have great programming skills, but what you seem to be saying is that the Zelda series went downhill after Link to the Past. First of all, "made with love" is one of the most cliched terms out there (most often used in context implying that things are not "made with love" anymore), and second of all, are you implying that Ocarina of Time and Skyward Sword aren't made with love? Also, your syntax is weird.
Agreed with DJC0Caine, this really looks to far in production to give up, it's always good for fans to try to make games better than what the company's themselves are making, and offer it for free. No better example proves this more than the Sonic fan base, Crazy high quality fan games and rom hacks that will make you never PAY for a Sonic game again, It really lights a candle under Sega's ass. Kinda wish the Megaman fangames where as good.

It would be cool if Nintendo actually chose to do ALTTP remake like this. Still, It I think they tend to prefer to put there efforts into newer titles.
I find the more involved Mr. Miyamoto is the better the Zelda. Skyword sword rocked as he was focused on this scene Twilight princess. Phantom Hour Glass and Sprite tracks Mr. Miyamoto left mostly to other teams. Needless to say, these games where not as good as most zelda titles and I wish they did this instead for DS
Having spoken at length with someone who is working very closely with Nintendo on a LoZ project, I fell I should mention that Nintendo is AGGRESSIVELY protective of this title. To the point of shutting down fan projects of numerous types. To give you a little insight to the lengths they have gone, in all the pieces of official art associated with the Legend of Zelda, only ONE piece is from a third party commission. Everything else was made in house.
@GelbesRayquaza Consider the following: The three Zelda games made for the Philips CDi were so awful, most Zelda fans agree they don't exist. Then there was the animated TV show. It wasn't the most awful thing ever, but it didn't win fans over all that wonderfully. There was a fan film called "The Hero of Time" and it was TERRIBLE. Nintendo politley asked it be taken down after a month.
a link to the past touched and inspired me heavily also, its still the best one in my opinion - OOT was pretty good too but I think ALTP had something a little more special going on and its nice to see that others share that feeling
As much as i love the old Zelda games, Nintendo has not made a bad Zelda game yet and arguably Skyward Sword in my opinion is the most fun i had with a Zelda Game since Majora's Mask. A great Zelda game. But nice 3D rendering of LTTP!
Zelda: Majora's Mask is the last awesome Zelda, The Wind Waker is okay, Twilight Princess is pretty lame and Skyward Sword is shit in its purest form.

They basically just redid their whole dark world thing, except now it's "twilight," and then they forced you to play as some lame ass wolf everytime you had to enter the areas covered in twilight. That whole game was shit, and I've noticed a downward trend in Zelda games for a long time now. There's no combat difficulty, and the puzzles practically slap you in the face. They're way too easy.

@Kikirini And there is no challenge to any of the newer console Zeldas. None whatsoever. The only "challenge" lies in executing some of the puzzles. Figuring out how to do them and decimating the dungeon's entire population of enemies is a damn piece of cake. I think it's kinda messed up that the original zelda has a higher difficulty than ones made like 20-25 years later. As games become more complex, as you gain more options and paths, there need to be more obstacles as well.
@Kikirini If I wanted there to be no challenge, I'd watch a movie. I play games to stimulate my mind and escape from reality, to provide me with a challenge, something to occupy time, something that's enjoyable. When I can kill everything with little to no effort, and every puzzle is easily solvable, but it takes me about 20 minutes to complete a certain puzzle because of some lame little button timing technicality, that's not fun. That's just frustrating and disappointing.

The originals like Link to the past were the starting basis of the entire zelda line. Same for the FF series in its infancy. These games hold memories that will never die. All this work is beautiful.
But i can understand the negative text in this movie.
First: this project has been cancelled.
Second: After the great snes era, nintendo went downhill with the N64 and the other consoles.
But it was not neccesary to add all those text.
This has a negative impact on many fans here.
I hope that nintendo will make Link to the past for the 3ds

I love Zelda just as much as the next guy, and I'll admit that you have great programming skills, but what you seem to be saying is that the Zelda series went downhill after Link to the Past. First of all, "made with love" is one of the most cliched terms out there (most often used in context implying that things are not "made with love" anymore), and second of all, are you implying that Ocarina of Time and Skyward Sword aren't made with love? Also, your syntax is weird.

Agreed with DJC0Caine, this really looks to far in production to give up, it's always good for fans to try to make games better than what the company's themselves are making, and offer it for free. No better example proves this more than the Sonic fan base, Crazy high quality fan games and rom hacks that will make you never PAY for a Sonic game again, It really lights a candle under Sega's ass. I liked the art, it was very well done. However, the reason why I marked the video down as a dislike is because of the preachy bullshit it contained. Can't continue the legend? It would be cool if Nintendo actually chose to do ALTTP remake like this. Still, It I think they tend to prefer to put there efforts into newer titles.
I find the more involved Mr. Miyamoto is the better the Zelda. Skyword sword rocked as he was focused on this scene Twilight princess. Phantom Hour Glass and Sprite tracks Mr. Miyamoto left mostly to other teams. Needless to say, these games where not as good as most zelda titles and I wish they did this instead for DS

Having spoken at length with someone who is working very closely with Nintendo on a LoZ project, I fell I should mention that Nintendo is AGGRESSIVELY protective of this title. To the point of shutting down fan projects of numerous types. To give you a little insight to the lengths they have gone, in all the pieces of official art associated with the Legend of Zelda, only ONE piece is from a third party commission. Everything else was made in house.

@GelbesRayquaza Consider the following: The three Zelda games made for the Philips CDi were so awful, most Zelda fans agree they don't exist. Then there was the animated TV show. It wasn't the most awful thing ever, but it didn't win fans over all that wonderfully. There was a fan film called "The Hero of Time" and it was TERRIBLE. Nintendo politley asked it be taken down after a month.

They basically just redid their whole dark world thing, except now it's "twilight," and then they forced you to play as some lame ass wolf everytime you had to enter the areas covered in twilight. That whole game was shit, and I've noticed a downward trend in Zelda games for a long time now. There's no combat difficulty, and the puzzles practically slap you in the face. They're way too easy.

They follow the same formula of temples, they all have the same shitty "voice acting." What have they really changed? They've made a few small changes in the way you control the games to help appeal to a broader audience made up of soccer moms, little kids, pre-teen girls, and retirement home zombies. They've also made "games" that aren't really games.

@Kikirini And there is no challenge to any of the newer console Zeldas. None whatsoever. The only "challenge" lies in executing some of the puzzles. Figuring out how to do them and decimating the dungeon's entire population of enemies is a damn piece of cake. I think it's kinda messed up that the original zelda has a higher difficulty than ones made like 20-25 years later. As games become more complex, as you gain more options and paths, there need to be more obstacles as well.

I play games to stimulate my mind and escape from reality, to provide me with a challenge, something to occupy time, something that's enjoyable. When I can kill everything with little to no effort, and every puzzle is easily solvable, but it takes me about 20 minutes to complete a certain puzzle because of some lame little button timing technicality, that's not fun. That's just frustrating and disappointing.
