So, what I am starting to wonder is did Wells get bail out money to help us financially? Did they call the help they gave us "Modification" so they could pocket the money they got from the bailout? We did not get any help financially, we ended up bailing ourself out by paying more see below.

Long story short, We could afford our house when we signed but 2 years later i lost my job and we became 2 months behind. Wells Fargo told us no problem just do a loan modification...so again another long story short we did but they manipulated us into being 6 months behind (too long to explain) So in the end we signed so called modification papers saved our home but not with help from Wells. All they did was RAISE yes RAISE our mortgage 300 a month and tacked on back payments to end of loan.

and the way our country and politicians are allowing this to happen to so many good people revolution can not be to far way. I am sorry to hear what your going through because I know first hand and they caused me to have a heart attack from all the stress they put me though. Somebody has got to stand up to these bastards. I say everyone needs to boycott ever using Wells fargo and then move on to Bank of America, use the little guy and put these too big to fail assholes out of business.

so far behind and couldn't make up the payments( it didnt matter they would have foreclosed anyway) I tried to do a shortsale so I would not take in the shorts all the way. They turned down 3 good shortsales. This was a $500,000 condo ( I overpaid like everyone else) and wells fargo bought it at auction for $148,000.00. Stumpf is a gangster, plain and simple. Wells Fargo has a 'playbook' they use to steal people's houses. They're doing it to me right now. 1) Offer a loan modification, accepting reduced payments. 2) Count these payments as 'partial' thus creating a past due balance (in spite of the fact that the agreement supercedes the Note, IN WRITING. 3) Ruin the homeowners credit. 4) Deny modification, demand 'past due balance' (an unpayable amount not even due). 5) foreclose on the home. 6) Celebrate.

im in gwinnett county ga , I modified my loan with wellsfargo , they made my payment $625 in stead of the $890 id been paying the last 8-9years...... after taking my 625 each month for 8months i got a forclosure leter from law firm,,,,,,,contacted WF and was told i was never approved for the modification and they simply said "ohhh yeah we took your $625 and every time there was enough to make a $890 payment we would make it for you" the crappy part is i touched base with every week they said

WOW!! not surprised to hear this. i have been fighting with them about a payment they claim i missed on an auto loan. i used their payment history that they actually sent me to prove i didn't miss a payment and its strange how it can never get cleared up. with on going late fees almost the amount of 2 payments. so my point is...this is a company wide practice to screw their clients. not just mortgage dept. good luck with your fight!!

What these lenders are doing to people is just criminal. I have a loan with Wells Fargo as well and have been waiting for a loan modification for 3 years now! I lost my job and got a little behind, they told me not to make any payments until a loan modification was agreed upon. When I started this my loan was at $115k, it is now at $145k. Wells Fargo took the amount that I was past due and tacked it to the back of the loan. Lenders do this to make up for the money they are losing.

Their credit card company is hounding my 80-year old dad half to death for money their bank ripped out of his Social Security deposits in the first place, because of overdrafts they claim he owes. They got mixed up on the account he had drawn from, but when he tried to talk to the manager of our branch, the guy acted like he didn't care.

They're even calling my father at his workplace, which is AGAINST THE LAW, but they don't seem to think so. I wish the government would bail US out. :(

I have a lot of displaced anger toward WF right now, but one day I'll move on from it...but if they're ripping people off it'll come back to haunt them, you'll see. A while back I bought a house that had been foreclosed by Wells Fargo. In my state, it's illegal to sell a house with taxes owed against it. In the contract it was clearly initialed by a rep. A few months after closing, I get sued and almost foreclosed on for 3 years worth of back taxes. Wells Fargo deliberately foreclosed before the county could then illegally sold a house. Fuck Wells Fargo and anyone who willingly works for them or any bank.

I'm sick of hearing all of these morons blame the banks for greed when there dumb ass should have known what they were signing. If the payment was going to adjust, IT SAYS IT ON THE LOAN DOCUMENTS! START READING AND MAYBE YOU WON'T GET FUCKED OVER SO MUCH!! I also work through Wells Fargo, and what you need to understand about a bank is that if they foreclose on a house then they're taking a loss on that house. Chances are that house is only worth 90% of what the loan is for, and those lawyer's fees on top of the thin profit margins they charge anyway, just think about it. Oh, and you can call every company all those things you did, a bank is a product of the banking environment which covers everything in a huge amount of red tape.

Notify every consumer protection group about them. Get records of all similar wells fargo victims and consider a class action lawsuit. I am sure that Wells Fargo is doing this because of severe problems and with the current economic troubles, it should not take a lot to put them under extreme scrutiny! Take care

i can say wells fargo bank is fraud because i went to buy a house here in oklahoma.i found out wells fargo bank owned the house so i made a offer and the accepted and come to find out there was over $4,500 back taxes owed on the house.and when i found that out i walked away from the house.wells fargo bank should have payed the taxes not the buyer of the home.i don't plan on doing bussiness with wells fargo bank ever again they are fraud.

Your assumption is not quite valid. Mortgage payments WERE manageable, made, and made on time. This is just another example of corporate fraud.

It's not corporate fraud. You need to go into a situation like this knowing that rates change. Guardian loan company nor most banks don't initially offer a fixed rate loan. Just like any other bank. Every bank does this, trust me I own 4 homes, 2 loans with Wells, 1 B of A and 1 Chase...

You HAVE to read the fine print, cause they give you the paperwork and you can't rely on them to tell you everything. If you can't afford a ballon rate payment, you don't need to own a house!
